Recommended Customer Reviews

Waited all morning for no one to show up at my home. Requested a time and was not honored by this company. What a waste of a day. Was called that the technician is at another job....I guess they only have one technician.....

THANK YOU WILL! After having a competing company out yesterday with all kind of crazy estimates and expensive options we decided to call Roto-Rooter today, a Sunday by the way. Will came out and took a look, kept it super professional and after being in there about 10 minutes he came in and said it was clear. We were so impressed that he was honest and said it had cleared itself that we requested a camera inspection to confirm and for some peace of mind. Will gave us an estimate for the camera inspection and called his manger, who will be out later today with the camera (again on a Sunday). We will never call another company!

5 stars for the availability and speed of service. Gary was very driven into resolving my problem and he did amazing. In about 2hs after my problem appeared, it got fixed by them already.
However, 0 star for the price. $500 to fix one foot of a PVC pipe less than a foot underground is a rip off. Yes it was a Sunday early night, but the advertising says there is no overtime charge for that, which makes me believe that's a "normal" price for them. Had I waited one day, I could have paid $200 to another company in my neighborhood.

Outstanding service. Randall (Ran) was our technician. He was efficient, courteous, knowledgeable and exceptionally professional. 5 stars for the excellent job.

Emergency service needed--No water at all for all tenants in a 4-plex!! My credit card was charged $650.00 without a written estimate or explanation of service!! We had an exterior water leak on our property side of the water meter at our investment property. We called Roto Rooter at approx 7:30PM on a Wednesday to explain the emergent situation with our tenants not having any water. We chose RR because they advertised 24/7 Emergency Repair. The technician showed up at 9PM, looked at the broken plastic pipe and said he "didn't have the parts in his truck" and that the "parts stores were closed". Long story short- he couldn't fix it that night, but we'd be on for "first thing 9AM". Ok, understandable. Told the 4 units of tenants "we're very sorry" but the line should be repaired early the next day. According to the technician it shouldn't take very long to repair. Simple break and easily accessible (I have a pic to prove it). Next morning at 9:21AM, tenant calls me and said "no plumber yet". I called Roto-rooter to get an ETA. Should be there by around 9:30AM. Call from tenant at 10:15AM, still no plumber and no water. Called dispatch who put me through to the technician. He said he was almost there. Now 10:30 he arrives and gives me an estimate of $650. He took my credit card info, I assumed to start the work. At 12:28PM, tenant calls and says no plumber on site and still no water. I call Roto Rooter who contacts the technician. Sounds like he is working on the job?? He says it should be any minute now that it should be fixed. Awesome-I asked him to call me as soon as he finished so I could let the tenants know. He agreed. Over an hour passes. At 1:43PM, I text the tenant to ask if she has water--Nope! And no plumber there! I call Roto-rooter again. This time I'm told that the guy that was there at 10:30AM was the "camera guy"?! I checked my credit card and sure enough, I was already charged for work that still isn't completed! And I still did NOT have a written estimate or receipt emailed to me. Now, I was worried. Was I just scammed? I asked to talk to a manager, since the dispatchers couldn't explain why I was charged, what I was charged for, and why I'm being told the plumber will be there, but still hasn't arrived. I was transferred to the dispatch manager. I was told there must have been a misunderstanding, that dispatch doesn't know about plumbing charges (understandable) so they couldn't tell me why I was charged and what I was charged for. By now it's 2:30PM, now I'm told the plumber is just finishing up at another job and cleaning up. He should be there between 3-3:30PM. I call at 3:50---No plumber!! Now I'm worried it'll be another whole day without water, since it's getting late. Do I say "forget it" and take my chances with someone else? But they already charged my card! I call back to dispatch and was told the plumber is 15 minutes away. Ok, so now he should be there by 4:05. Finally, at 4:23PM I get a call from the plumber. Thank goodness! He is onsite! However, he has to run and get a part. He assures me that water will be flowing by 6PM. It's now 6:18PM and no water! I AM DONE! I've been charged $650 for a job that isn't even completed and we're going on 24 hours post emergency--tenants with no water. I just called Roto Rooter-surprise! Nobody knows anything! They are texting the plumber. Plumber called me back at 7PM to say water was fixed by 6:30PM. Still no written estimate on what I was charged for and no receipt. I just emailed the customer service manager and will be calling them today. I WILL be disputing the charge with my credit card company since $650 for a 2 hour job (4:30PM arrival-6:30PM water) which includes a "parts run" is ridiculous. We're on the third day now and STILL no written estimate or receipt.

We returned home from a very long vacation and learned we had some type of a leak, so neighbor had to turn off our water main. We called RR on a Saturday night. They said they'd be by within two hours. About 90-minutes in, they called to let us know it was going to be later. Then, they called again to apologize and let us know it'd be a very late night.
Three guys came and worked on our leak around midnight. They were professional, and also gave us good tips for the future.
My only complaint is it was very expensive, and didn't seem like all that much work. At the same time, I realize it was emergency service.

I can't say enough positive things about my service call experience on yesterday. These guys were fast, thorough and even helped me save money!! I was running a bit late and Ralph called my cell and reassured me they could wait while I was on my way. They were very professional and considerate (even after waiting 15 minutes for me to arrive). These guys were prompt, efficient went right up into the attic to assess the issue. Turns out the water had evaporated and there was nothing to do but cosmetic work to my interior ceiling. Even though that's not RotoRooters specialty, they had the number for a contractor to handle the cosmetic repairs I needed done. The contractor called me within the hour to schedule an appt.
The other area of concern was my master toilet. Once they diagnosed the issue, just to be safe they checked my water pressure as well and that wasn't even part of my original call. Rather than hitting me up with a giant bill, they shared with me a more practical and economical route to take in order to address the broken toilet. I appreciate their integrity. These days you don't find that level of ethical practice in a lot of businesses; usually the companies are all about price gouging customers and coming up with more broken things to repair. this was quite the opposite. I respected Roto Rooter all the more after this service call. Ralph & Ronnie thank you for your honesty it was much appreciated & refreshing. I can't thank you guys enough.

Ralph (technician number 2885) came by and assessed problems related to two of our toilets. In just a matter of minutes, he had replaced a piece of the internal mechanics and it stopped the hissing noise immediately! He gave us excellent advice and I felt like he was talking straight. He was incredibly neat and tidy! Plus, Roto-Rooter was able to send someone to my house within 5 hours of my afternoon call!

UPDATE: The GM and his team made things right and came back out to resolve the initial concern which was what is causing the recurring issues...broken sewer main. Even though the news isn't good, I now know what is wrong and they did their part to come back out to make things right.

I needed a late night, on a Sunday night, repair for my upstairs bathroom. Not only did Jeff show up within 30 minutes but he didn't charge just to show up! I called two other companies and they said they couldn't be at my place less than 2 hours and they charge an after hours fee of $115 or more. Jeff was respectful, reliable and fixed my faucet quickly, considering he had to find the parts too. Thankful to have met Jeff Meares. Roto Rooter is lucky to have him.
