Andres G.Overpriced. 680 dollars to change a garbage disposal. 190 dls for the disposal (cost 100 at lowes) and 475 dls to instal (Less than 2 hrs of labor, single man crew)
I called late on a Wednesday evening for a leak and was told the earliest they could come out was Friday from 10 to 2. It was after 2 on Friday when I called to find out when they were coming. I called three times and dispatch never got on the phone. The 3rd call some rude man got on the phone and said something. I asked him to repeat it and he rudely said they were a hour and a half behind. Asked why no one could called to tell me that and he rudely said he did not know and dispatch would have to call me back. If I didn't need my sink I would try to get someone else but they couldn't come out until next week. There better be a huge discount or the next call I make will not be so nice.
Had great success with this company a couple years ago, not so this time. The tech seemed to make the estimate, collect his fee, then break his promise to do the job 2 days.later. Will never do business with them again and will also tell others of our negative experience.
PJ L.Awful company. We had scheduled an appointment with Roto rooter in San Antonio and it was a sh** show. From the freeze we had last week, we had a shower overflow. I called and they said someone should be out the next day with a 4 hour window, which was 12:00pm-4:00pm. I waited and waited and then a call came in about 2pm which rang about half a ring, barely enough to get my phone out of my pocket.
I called the number back and the dispatcher said if we still needed services, I told them yes. The dispatcher then said "well, a plumber called you at 11:38am" at this time I put him on speaker and said "uhhhhh, I'm looking at my missed calls and don't have a missed call" he snidely responded, "yes they did" I told him there were no missed calls. He repeated it again. At that time I was about to hang up, the Same number was calling. I hung up with the a**hole that pretty much called me a liar and answered the other line. It was rotorooter. "Do you still need service" yes I responded. Sure enough no one showed and I even called them back. Crappy customer service
I scheduled an appointment with them after my pipes burst during the Texas Freeze five days ago. This was overnight, I spoke to somebody that set up an appointment for Roto-Rooter to come out and do an inspection, clarified that was the same number to call back in case I'd found somebody else.
Now when I call, it's an automated message saying they'll only do appointments online. No technicians have come out, or called, or communicated in anyway.
I guess that must be their slogan. "Call Roto-Rooter, that's the name, away go troubles, to somebody else because it's not our problem".
Duane R.I was given a two hour window for the tech to call me, and they called me just past two hours - not great, but not too bad either. The primary issue is that they wanted me to sign a document saying that I would be responsible for any costs related to them damaging their own equipment while doing work at my house. Seriously? Nope, not going to happen no matter how many times you tell me it is "common practice" to do this. It is NOT common practice nor should it be. Be careful what you sign!
Ed Alan D.Arrived a little early, had estimate done very quickly and had my drains opened fast. Very friendly and everything cleaned up and were gone within an hour. Highly recommend this company for canyon lake Texas area. Can't remember both techs names but George and his partner were both great. Thanks for the speedy service. Ed
Mike C.This is a dishonest company that overcharged my family to repair a pipe. They also tried to cheat us for more money. Do not work with them!
Suzanne N.My elderly parents called me last night complaining a clogged kitchen sink drain that they had not been able to get unclogged despite their best efforts. Since I live 250 miles away, I decided to just schedule a plumber for them and pay for it myself. I made the mistake of scheduling with Roto-Rooter in San Marcos, lured by a $60 off coupon. The plumber arrived as scheduled and told my folks that it would cost $250 if it was just the P trap, or $379 if he had to snake the drain. Those prices are highway robbery, but the guy was already there, and we had the $60 off coupon, so I agreed. When it was time to pay, he said that the $250 price had already taken the $60 off (it was just the P trap). I tried to argue, but when I got him on the phone he told ME that Roto-Rooter's flat price to unclog a drain is $379, but that HE had reduced it to $250, and that Roto-Rooter gave their technicians leeway to do that, and since he'd already taken off more than $60, the coupon was already applied. Yeah, right! After he told my folks that it was $250 if it was just the P trap - which is ridiculous in and of itself. I could've fixed it myself in 30 minutes with just a bucket and some towels. No tools required. I feel that this amounts to false advertising and have asked to be refunded the $60. I'll revise the review if the company makes it right.
Neil O.Absolutely terrible dispatch service who couldn't even take my address down correctly and rude customer service agent. Not a good start to building a relationship with new customers.
