Ingram R.Called on 11/14/14 about strong sewer smell in my house. The tech was friendly & listened to all my concerns. He suggested we have the foundation plumbing checked with a camera, but I told him another plumber mentioned a smoke test. Asked him to check attic & he told me he didn't smell anything. He assured me he had been doing this for sometime. We paid a few thousand dollars for a repair that didn't fix the problem. On 11/25/14, Smell came back so I called the technician, who promised to call me back. Waited 4 days no response. On 12/01/14, I called customer service, who promised to have tech's manager call me back. No callback. Sent a complaint to the corporate office after business hours on 12/01/14. They responded the next day saying I would receive a callback in 30 minutes. Didn't receive a callback until 3 hours later. Tech's supervisor asked me to give them chance to find the source of the problem. He was not sure why original tech wanted to look at foundation plumbing because issue obviously related to venting. No refund offered or discount given. I was assured that issue would be resolved at no additional expense to me. 12/03/14, different tech came and did a smoke test. Ah ha, a venting issue in attic discovered! Did some work to roof jacks & problem not as severe. I called on 12/03/14 to ask about a possible discount since I had paid for something I didn't need. I was told by a really nice lady that I probably would have needed the repair eventually so it saved me in the long run. She said the supervisor would call me back to talk about a possible discount. It's been 5 days and no callback. Do I still smell sewer gas? Yes, but it is not as strong as it initially was. I feel like I was taken advantage of and I have no confidence in this company.
Great service called in the morning for week long leaks. Person was polite and dis job in professional manner. If u r in trouble like us would definely recommend to try them

They did everything in their power to make sure that I felt valued by them, and wanted to make sure I would give them another try. After talking with the representative of Roto Rooter I can honestly say I will give them another shot, and they do care about their customer satisfaction.
My Original Review Of Roto Rooter
Wish I could comment on the level of service I received from roto rooter, but it is now day 2 and they called to reschedule once again. My water has been off since my outside pipe yesterday around noon. You were supposed to be here around 5pm yesterday. I have now been called back twice to reschedule, and your phone staff was less then kind and helpful (understatement). You do realize people cancel arrangements and clear out entire 5 hr slot of their day to be here when your supposed to be here right? Least you could do was show up!
My kitchen sink was clogged, and I made the mistake of mixing 2 different chemicals trying to get unclogged. HUGE mistake. Ruined my sink. So, now I panic. I call my neighbor and they recommended Roto-Rooter from Houston. They came out right away. The plumber they sent was Clyde Crump, and he was awesome. I feel so bad. The chemicals were throughout my house, so I immediately turned off my AC (in the summer). It was so hot in my house, but he never complained once. After everything was complete, he even took the time to give me several helpful tips to help keep my pipes unclogged. He didn't have to do that, so I am a huge fan.

Called Rotor-Rooter this morning to clear canned spinach from my clogged kitchen sink. Scheduler inquired if I was the home owner, which is really none of her business. I am a renter and am responsible for clogs not due to tree roots, etc. So I was fully responsible for the repairs. In the past when I stated that I was a renter companies have refused to come out unless the management company called them and said it was o.k. to come to the property. God luck with that, I can't even get them to return a phone call for weeks when I have called and asked for my property manager to give me a call. Enough about that. Appointment window was set for 10-1. At noon the dispatcher called and said the Tech was on the way and would be at my home in about 45min. Tech arrived at 12:45 all smiles and polite. Walked in the kitchen and her goes the much practiced got you by the balls quote. We have a 65foot snake, warranty and a free bottle of drain cleaner to use for a couple of months. Oh then asked how old the house was. When I answered it was built in the 70's he stated it could be tree roots, old pipes, etc. Now I will have you fixed up and running for the price of $325.00. I shook my head and laughed and said you have got to be kidding, he stated no, what price where you expecting? I stated $100.00 thinking all he would do would be to plunge the drain first and then try snaking it that did not work. No offer to even do that. I told him no way and showed him to the door. Where is honest customer service?
I do not know how people sleep at night taking advantage of people in need to get something so simple to repair. Went to Walmart and for $4.98 purchased a plunger, prayed and cleaned the clog and sat down to write this review. BEWARE.

Edward R.Was satisfied with the service provided, although there may be an underlying issue to properly complete the fix. I was impressed with the time of arrival. However; may be a little steep in pricing, but overall satisfied.
We had a blocked sink in the upstairs bathroom. Called rotorooter and fixed an appointment the next day at 4pm. Called and confirmed the appointment in the morning. At 3.30 pm they called and said that the service tech I'd running late. I had made arrangements to leave work early. They called me again later on and said the tech will not come and to make another appointment next day. It was very annoying but I did make the appointment for 5 pm next day. They again called me at 3 pm to say that the service tech will not come and to make an appointment the next day.I talked to dispatcher Kevin multiple times. He said that at least we are communicating with you to let you know that tech will not be coming. He said that even next day they will try but there is no guarantee that the tech would come. So finally, very frustrated by now, I called a local plumber who came in within 1 hour and fixed the problem. I called and canceled the appointment which was for the third day. They did not even apologize for the delay and not doing the job.
There is no option in this review to give a rating less than one star and hence I gave them one star rating
They cancelled the first day. The second day they sent a guy who couldn't do the job. Third day they got it right. Very pricey compared to other services I've tried. Will not use again. Sorry.
