Disappointing. The service technician was fine, but running an auger to clear a drain pipe is a fairly basic thing, not worth the $379 I was charged. I called beforehand and a quote "couldn't" be given. Had I not need to return to a conference call, I would have rejected the service. Never say never, but it's highly unlikely I will call Roto-Rooter again.

This company is going to rip you off. Do not use them.
They wanted to charge me $1300 to replace valves on 4 toilets. A $10 part on amazon.
AND they wanted $350 to replace the flap and buoy flush system in the tank which takes about 5 minutes and another $10 part. I sent them away, paid $70 for a service charge, and then fixed the leak myself in 2 minutes because it turns out it was the world's simplest fix.
Long story short, DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. I am the third person I know to get ripped off. Use someone else!

I would give this company zero stars if possible. Roto-Rooter came out to help with a clogged toilet. They snaked it and then said that it was working. 3 days later the same issue came up. Since it was within the 7 days of coverage I called them back to come out and see about the problem. They then tried to charge me twice saying they found a toy in the drain. When I received the notice of charge I tried several times to contact them to dispute it. They never returned my call. When I finally got in touch with someone they said they would look into it and then get back to me. NO RESPONSE. Now they sent collections. I even had a response from the GM of this branch saying that the charge was a mistake and was not due, but they still say I owe this balance. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! There are better professionals out there.

I missed a call from them. I returned a call and someone picked up and sounded like she didn't want to help. I felt very disrespected the way she talked to me like she did not care at all and then I just immediately hung up. That was my first time calling Roto-Rooter Plumbing and the last!

I called Roto-Rooter Houston Texas several months ago, because I had used they years ago. An appointment was set, they no showed during the appointment window. I called and asked if they were going to come that day. They said they would call me back, they never did. Long and short of it, I rescheduled, they next day again no show.

Brings me to Sunday, ok I experienced a fluke the last time, so I called them again. Set up an appointment for today 3/16/20 with a window of 10 to 2. They call me and tell me they are four plumbers short today and want to reschedule. Why did they not call at 8 or 9 to tell me they are short handed.

Shame on me!

Called at midnight to schedule an appointment for 8am. Person on the phone answered within 2 rings of the phone and was very helpful. Got technician 6647, Hidajet. Absolutely pleased with Hidajet. Very friendly and informative. He was upfront with pricing and went the extra step to even take his shoes of when he went inside my home. He diagnosed the problem as an outside issue and was able to clear the drain. We worked together to determine the best course was to get a camera tech out to make sure there was no further damage, no extra charge for that. Andrew came out within the hour and he impressed me even more with his knowledge and straightforwardness. We eventually found out that a city contractor had crushed my drain pipe when installing a new utility pole. I was able to obtain their info and pass it along to Andrew who did all the negotiating to get them to pay for the damages on my behalf. He even got the foreman to cut me a check for the original service call I paid for with Hidajet! The issue was promptly fixed the next morning and Andrew even came back out again to make sure the issue was fixed and there was no further damage. Very very rare in this day and age to find a company that is prompt, professional, and caring about their customers. I will absolutely be calling them in the future if need be.

A plumber told us a clogged drain was not repairable and we needed to replace pipes and he would have to tear out a wall - 5,000.00. The Roto-rooter folks saved the day! Drain is clear! On time, very kind, very professional, and fast. Ask for Technician # 6647. He was wonderful. Here's my advice: if you have a clogged drain, pay for the experts in unclogging drains. These guys are great!

This review really didn't have to happen. I received a call stating a technician was 20 minutes away. An hour and a half later, no technician. I called to inquire and was "disconnected." I called again and a woman laughs and says "oh, you'll be waiting a long time." Well why in the world would you call someone and tell them a technician was on their way? She transfers me to dispatch and dispatch tells me he's stuck in traffic, give him about 20 minutes. 20+ minutes pass by and no technician. I call again and am left on hold for 10 plus minutes. I am still on hold as I write this, because hey, I cleared my scheduled to wait for a technician that was supposed to arrive two hours ago and since he isn't here, I've got all this free time on my hands.

If at all possible, choose another company. Their customer service is awful and by the looks of the reviews, the service isn't the best. I can't really attest to that though because they haven't shown.

DO NOT USE ROTO ROOTER. My 80 year old mother who lives in the Houston area contacted Roto-Rooter when a pipe broke in her guest bedroom. She selected Roto-Rooter because she thought there were a reputable company. How wrong she was. Eric (who I see has gotten many negative reviews) came to her home and assured her that Roto Rooter would take care of her, thus putting her at ease. He had her sign a document on an ipad that listed no information on costs for clean up. My mother called her insurance company to file a claim the same day. When the agent came, he told my mother that there were enough fans in a very small bedroom to dry a flooding incident in an office building (there were so many fans you could barely walk into the room). The agent himself then contacted Roto Rooter and said that the insurance company would NOT pay for that many fans and that they needed to remove all but one. He was told by Roto Rooter the excess fans would be removed the next day. The next day, the fans were still there. My mother contacted Roto Rooter herself and asked them to remove them. She was told that someone would come by and remove them and no one did. Finally, the fans were removed. Flash forward to last week when my mother called me in tears because she received a $5,000 bill from Roto-Rooter, $2,300 of which would be reimbursed by the insurance company but Roto-Rooter informed her that she would need to pay the remainder or a lien would be put on her house. She just received a notice of Lien that 7 days from today a lien would be placed on her home. I contacted the insurance agent about the incident and he informed me that Roto Rooter does this **all the time** and that multiple clients of his were treated like this. Furthermore, he said, other insurance companies refuse to deal with them for just this reason. My mother is an 80 year old woman, on a fixed income who did everything right but Roto Rooter took advantage of her. Eric and all of the Roto Rooter company deliberately misled and deceived her. I cannot say enough bad things about this company. I will be filing multiple complaints about their business practices. DO NOT USE them.

My wife and I unexpectedly faced a backed up plumbing line, and after purchasing a snake device from Home Depot to try to fix it ourselves, we called Roto-Rooter. Since it was a Saturday afternoon, we did not have many options for other plumbers given that most are closed on the weekends. I was nervous because Roto-Rooter has mediocre Yelp reviews, but our experience was great! The operator was very friendly and attentive. She explained the process and was informative. Steve, the plumber, called us shortly after and informed us that he'd be at our home in 30-45 minutes, and he was on time. We were charged $300 for him to snake one of the main plumbing lines, which wasn't the most cost effective, but he was friendly, informative, and it fixed the problem that the snake we purchased from Home Depot was not fixing. We had a great experience and would have given Roto-Rooter 5 stars had the price been less expensive. The original price was $359, but we were offered a coupon which dropped the price to $300. Aside from the price, we had a great experience and appreciate an establishment that is open 24/7!
