Requested a plumber to fix/replace a water pipe going into my house (which bursted during the latest TX freeze). On the bright side, they were very responsive and lined up a technician within 4 hours. Now to the ugly: first they will charge you a $99 fee for the visit, despite me sending pictures of the issue which was pretty straightforward. Second, when the technician showed up, after looking at the cracked pipe section for no more than 30 seconds (which tells you how easy it was to diagnose), he claimed the job would cost me $1,200! Just ridiculous. When I protested, he went on to BS me about having to wait for the PVC pipe to dry out, etc. Again, they will simply assume you are completely ignorant and overcharge. Come to think of it, they leverage the fact you already invested $99 to try and get even more money out of you. As mad as I was having to pay $99 and send the technician away, I did it and called another company (Britton Waterworks). It took them a day to come over but in the end the job (labor and parts) cost me $498. Roto-Rooter tried to overcharge me by 2.5 times!! I thought about giving RR a two star review just because of their responsiveness but the way they will try and take advantage of you and the situation is inexcusable.

This is your warning! Stay far away from Roto Rooter Water Damage Mitigation Division if you are paying out of pocket. If you have an experience like mine - you will be lied to, delayed, billed for quantities that were not performed, ignored, disrespected, and down right defrauded. All the while, the people you will be dealing with are shameless in their acts and do not care to assist you in the least.

I, personally, will never be using this company again.

I'm disappointed with their appointment service (and luckily, they didn't keep their promise with me !).
if whoever inside the company wants to check my bad comment here, then my ticket number is 25332838. Then hope you guys don't delete this comment but rather learn and improve from here.
My house got a water pipe leaked on Saturday. I make an appointment for a Sunday afternoon, so a technician can come to fix. Note: the company says they're available 24/7.
I stay home this Sunday, don't go out enjoying the weekend with my family, waiting and waiting for the call to come from them. Nothing happened.
I called them back. The operator collected my information then passed me to the dispatcher. Here she collected my information again, then said sorry, they're behind schedule and may cancel this appointment.
I asked her 'please help', then she said someone will call me, and remind me about $99 onsite service charge (though I knew and accepted when making the appointment). Then again nothing happened.
... I'm disappointed. Hope this company all lucks.

Scheduling was easy. The plumber did show up on time and installedthe shut off valve under the kitchen sink. That was pretty much the only positive experience. The reason for my dissatisfaction was the exorbitant price i was charged for a less than 30 min job. I was charged $368 for the job that needed a $10 shut-off valve. After that, i replaced the 2nd one myself when the plumber said it would cost $368 each according to the roto-rooter pricing sheet. The one i replaced was in a more difficult position than the one he replaced. I will not recommend this business.

The only good thing about Roto-Rooter is that they were available to come out right away and took pictures. They upcharge everything because they know that you are in a bind. The employees are all over worked and they don't have time to walk with you through the quote and threaten to leave if you don't decide right away. We had them fix plumbing, and they forgot to install an outflow even though it was paid for. Insurance originally denied my claim, and then covered it. After 30 days. Roto rooter said that they would put a lien on my house if I didn't make a payment right away. When I said that I was working with insurance. Aurora said it was denied and that they needed payment now or they would send me to collections. She was essentially implying that I was lying about working with insurance. Please stay away from this company. All they care about is making as much money off of people that are in a tough situation.

I had a sink stopped up. Attic A/C drain ties into this sink. Thus I get slug build-up. Also, I thought I had roots in a toilet drain. Technician Aaron Leblanc proved the toilet drain did not have roots. Thus I saved a charge for something I did not need. He "snaked" the sink drain and cleaned out major debris and constrictions. The sink now has water whirlpools as it drains. I have not seen these since buying the house 15 years ago.

They fixed the problem, but their flat rate for unclogging a bathroom sink drain is $430, even though it took only about fifteen minutes.

Prices too high
To install two water heaters the quote was 1300.00 each labor-only plus parts
call a competitor their quote was 700.00 with parts. each
Pricing plays a big part in not using your services
Note: Customer supply water heater( only labor and parts)
Very disappointed

The company is a rip off. They tell you that they charge a flat rate when you call them, but when they come to your house, that goes out the window. I called Roto Rooter to change the water temperature setting in one our showers and the plumber came to our house, said he had to charge $350 per hour, charge $200 if he had to go buy any materials, and would have to bill me for any materials he would have to purchase. A simple job to update the water temperature setting turned into a $1,000 bill. Very upsetting... I called the manager of the Westchester branch and he said that the call takers must have made a mistake when they said it was a flat charge. To add insult to injury, the plumber messed up and the pipes sounded like the house was going to explode whenever the water was turned on. We had to call the. to send another plumber at 11pm at night to fix their mess up.
