I've used this Roto-Rooter branch in the past and it was a great experience. For this service call, I had called very late (almost 11 pm) and made an appointment first thing the next morning. Not a problem, someone answered the phone and was very helpful. I also requested that Michael (tech # 1773) came out for the service call since he did a terrific job the last time he made repairs at my home. Michael/#1773 arrived on time at 8 am sharp and repaired the clogged pipes through 3 floors of the house. He was efficient, professional, knowledgeable and extremely nice. He is a pleasure to work with, what a great guy. Of course, he fixed it right the first time and made sure all the plumbing issues were corrected before I paid with a check. The labor charge was extremely fair and not at all exorbitant (discussed and approved by me before any work started). Roto-Rooter stands by their 6 month warranty on labor, just in case the same issue pops up again in the future.
I was calling for estimates to clear a kitchen drain that was clogged below house level.
It was $285 for about 2 hours work. They said it was usually $385, but they would take $100 off. Not sure how/why that deal was given, but I'll take it!
Work is guaranteed for 6 months in this case as well.
I am curious to see what other estimates for the issue come in at....but I needed to get it done ASAP.
The guy who came was very polite and helpful.
Keira L.We live in Yardley, Pa. and had a backed up sewage line on New Year's Day with six of us home! One phone call and we had a repairman on the way. In less than an hour he was at our door and fixed our problem from outside our home. There was no extra charge for the holiday and the price was reasonable. I was able to use a coupon I received from a previous visit - also on a holiday - two years earlier. I can't imagine using any other plumbing service!
Yesterday evening our downstairs toilet stopped flushing. Instead water just swirled around in the bowl and leaked from beneath the toilet. After cleaning up the mess it seemed better so we all washed up and went to bed. Well, disaster was just a few hours away. By the time we got home after school the downstairs bath was a lake. So we called Roto-Rooter. Less than an hour later a plumber with a name tag reading Sam arrived. He quickly diagnosised to problem, a blocked pipe going to the sewer and got to work. Even though it was about 430 when he arrived and freezing cold at about 9 degrees, Sam explained what he was doing, showed us the problem and fixed the issue. I'm sure he must have wanted to get done and go home but he never seemed hurried or bothered by our many issues and questions. This is the second time Roto Rooter has been here in the last few months and both techs have been professional and patient, plus the price was very reasonable both times. I can't imagine why we'd ever call anyone else.
Someone was there to answer the phone on the New Year's weekend and was able to schedule within two hours. The technician showed up right on time. He stopped a very troublesome leak and told us how to arrange a permanent fix with our regular plumber. We were very appreciative. Great experience.
Bao T.These guys did an awesome job. they came to my southwest Philadelphia home on time. worked in the snow for 9 hrs to replace my trap.
Shannon C.Came out to our home in Blue Bell on New Years Eve. The gentlemen remedied our problem (tree roots) very quickly. Great service! Friendly too!
Job was a warranty work for a house drain cleaned 5 days earlier. Debris had fallen in pipe and need to be retrieved or pushed to the tank. First technician did not have enough cable to reach tank. He snaked from the farthest cleanout from the tank. He was unable to reach the tank. The follow up Technician, Sam , refused to do anything other than what did not work the first call. He refused to remove a toilet and snake from a different direction closer to the problem. The two lines connect and feed into the same common main. He wasted his time and snaked the same cleanout knowing it would not work rather than take a new approach to solving the problem. It was 5;00 and he just wanted to go home. Sam walked off the job unsolved. Horrible customer service. Tech should be disciplined or fired. He worked harder to not do the job instead of just solving the problem.
Neil S.My sewer line backed-up on Christmas Eve and overflowed the basement sink. After calling around and finding everyone else closed, I was able to reach someone at Roto-Rooter. They told me that they were dispatching a technician and I received an email confirmation within minutes. The tech arrived not long after. The technician unclogged the outside sewer line and found that the pipe had shifted and separated from the inside sewer pipe. He used his camera equipment to diagnose the problem and showed me the separation in the monitor, so I was assured he wasn't just guessing or trying to scam me. He also showed me the inside sewer line which is in great shape, so I didn't have to worry that they would have to rip out walls and dig up the floor in my newly refinished basement. The service call was $400, twice what I paid two years ago when I had the same problem, but the last company didn't diagnose the break, just unclogged the pipe that reclogged.
The excavation team arrived today as promised and replaced the outside sewer line. I've had two outside sewer lines break before in my last house. It is an expensive job around $4,000, but I knew Roto-Rooter was in a ""reasonable"" price range. At least with Roto-Rooter, I have confidence that they will back up their warranty which is five years. The other local plumbing companies I previously used for sewer line replacements failed to get back to me -- even after I had a lawyer write one of them a letter -- when I had some minor leaks through the walls and floor, so I had to hire a separate contractor to fix what they allegedly guaranteed.
Everyone at Roto-Rooter was very professional and pleasant in which was a rather painful situation. If you want quality work done quickly and assurance that the work for a big plumbing job will be completed properly, I would recommend Roto-Rooter.
Outrageously expensive! I wish I had had the time to shop around for options. I will never use RR again!!!!! They charge $4,100 for 5 hours work. Yes, it was done well but I've heard since that it could have been done just as well for less than half of what I paid. I'm a senior citizen......I don't think it's fair to take advantage of others!!!
