We had a recurring backup in our sewage line, and I'm glad they're able to send people out 24/7 (in our case on a Saturday night). They came out a couple of times, and each of the techs was professional, respectful and took time to answer questions and explain the problem. And they honored their warranty and stayed with it until getting it resolved. I experienced some sticker shock along the way, but that pays for their training and expertise.
Nicole R.I believe these people are quite dishonest. I had a sewer line clog, which was bad enough, but I was talked into a two-way drain that I later learned was not essential for getting the clog cleared. I panicked, however, because it was Memorial Day weekend and I don't know a thing about plumbing. They knew a sucker when they saw one. It was a $4,000 lesson. They would have robbed me blind, with several unnecessary services, except I finally came to my senses. I had Roto-Rooter stop work while I obtained bids from several other plumbing companies who seemed far more professional and knowledgeable. When I asked Roto-Rooter to return to finish a small bit of concrete work that was part of the contract, they simply could not commit to a time. Their excavator seems to be running the show. Cornel's Plumbing finished the work for them and they did it for free. DO NOT USE ROTO-ROOTER.
I was told they will give me a call ahead and let me know how much it will be to snake a 12' line, they show up and tell me it's $472. Took them 15min to do the job, definitely gonna call others next time.
Well..this is kind of a mixed review because the gentleman who came out was very kind and professional. I never once felt like there was any dishonesty but I think it was more of either lack of knowledge or he was kind of roped into following the rules of the company.
Without going into the details, I was told the issue I had with a minor leak would require extensive repairs that would be upwards of $1500. It was kind of a ""one issue leads to fixing this..to then fixing that or you'll have issues down the road"" kind of spiel that I feel was sincere but not well-informed. So I paid him the $89 service fee and was left with nothing but advice and a big potential bill.
Fast forward, I called a really good handyman I had used a year before for his take. I trusted him totally but assumed he'd be impossible to book. Well, turns out he was booked but was willing to come out on a weekend since this was a plumbing concern and potentially urgent.
So he came out and told me most of Roto's suggestions were completely overkill and unnecessary and that nothing was urgent or unfixable down the road in small phases..but possibly would never be needed at all. For instance, Roto had suggested adding some additional features to my system that I found out I'd never need. Plus, there was a plumbing part Roto told me needed to be replaced ($700) that turned out to be working just fine, as my handyman showed me. The gentleman who was here had tested it but apparently didn't test it properly, according to what I witnessed and shared with my handyman. My handyman tested it differently and it worked fine.
Whew that was close!
Soooo.....$150 later, everything was fixed and I saved $1261. I'll never be more grateful to a good, experienced handyman!!
My advice is to not get pressured into following their advice. Get a second opinion..even if it means losing that $89 service fee. I'd rather lose that $89 in order to get a second opinion than to agree to a $1500 repair. Use your brains people!! So, to be clear, I didn't feel it was dishonesty at all but just overkill and lack of experience and knowledge. Big difference there but potentially expensive.
DO NOT USE ROTO-ROOTER!!! Roto-Rooter kept making excuses for why their technician was not showing up. Spent more that five hours of a morning and afternoon waiting for them. Twice I received a text that a technician was on the way but no one showed. Nothing but lies. Do not use them- they are the worst!
Brian T.These people dropped the ball THREE times. THREE. I guess I should not have given them that many chances, but I had used their services before.
On Tuesday evening, both of our commodes were leaking at the base and I scheduled an appointment online for Wednesday between 8-noon. 12:30 and still no word from them, so I call and one of their jets had broken down and they could have someone on site in about an hour. Well.......we need the work done earlier in the day as not to disrupt the business and we reschedule for Thursday with an arrival time of 8-10 a.m. Again.....no call/no show, so I called around 11:30 a.m. Several people had called out (not my issue) and I told them it was imperative that the service start early in the day. The dispatcher 'promised' me that we would be the first job on Friday and they would arrive between 8-9 a.m. At 9:20 I gave them a call and they said the tech was about an hour out. Seriously?? The one thing that really annoyed me, was that there was no apology. I can't believe these morons are still in business. I called another local company and they had someone here in 1/2 an hour. They were courteous and efficient and blew these people out of the water.
From the ease of scheduling, to great communication it paid.to call Roto Rooter. Arin, our tech, was prompt and ready to go. When I explained what I wanted done she came up with an ternative solution........that saved me money!
Arin was clear in her explanation of what she was going to do. She was done fairly quickly and the work is amazing.
Thank you Arin for being a.rock star for my wife and me.
$390 an hour plus parts? What? 45min service cast me @$500+. Are those prices for real???
Lauren P.I'm a big fan of Roto-Rooter they were able to bring me an amazing man (Abe) :) Mr. Abe was able to help me unclog my kitchen sink and remove any entities that were in there! Thank you very much Abe! You're a rockstar!!
My home warranty company sent this company a request for service on my hot water heater and they responded to me on Jan 20 2021 to set up an appointment. I went thru the online process to schedule pocked 3 dates and times and hit send.
I then received a call non of those dates are available so I had to schedule almost 2 weeks out on Feb 1, not that big of deal my water heater still works the pilot just keeps going out.
8:38 in the morning Feb 1 I receive a call Jeff is on the way great thank you!
8:54 in the morning Feb 1 another call Jeff broke down they will try to find another tech ok things happen I wait for the reschedule.
9:53 they found another tech he should be here in 30 great I am here and ready.
10:21 a call same number different person telling me they no longer work with the warranty company and I would be responsible for the entire bill. I explained I had already paid my service fee and they said it did not matter it would $69 for diagnostic and the any additional repairs would be extra.
I asked why they waited until the tech was 10 min out to tell me this when I scheduled almost 2 weeks ago and all he kept saying was I apologize but gave no solution to the problem.
These people are all idiots and don't care at all about people , and now I have to wait another week min to get another tech out to my home.
