Sarah P.Called them because my double kitchen sink was clogged. They said they could have a tech out to my house within an hour.....WHOA NELLY slow down, I'm at work. So they came shortly after I got home.
They were there for less than an hour and had everything working they way it should.
They were very professional and kind. I'd def recommend.
The worst service Ive ever had!! Techs were chronically late (im talking hours) ruined my carpet, and did poor work. They messed up so bad that we had to fight them to get them to pay for bathroom items to be replaced at their cost. My phoned calls were never returned, and it took weeks just to get anything approved. After we spent thousands of dollars with them, they tried to argue with us over the cost of the bathroom item they had replace. I've never been so disrepected in my life. Their ""attempts"" to made amends were half assed at best. DO NOT EVER USE THEM! They are overpriced, rude, disrepectful, and do not care about their clients.
Called Roto Rooter for a clogged kitchen sink. They came on time and eliminated the clog in less than 30 minutes. Then charged us $368. Not bad, $736 an hour. Manager explained that they had a flat charge for drain service no matter how long it takes. Needless to say, we will find an equally good plumber for basic work for much less next time.
We hired Roto Rooter for water restoration after our check-valve broke. They did not arrive when promised, I had to call to find out where they were, they charged extra fees for working into the evening when they couldn't arrive at lunch time as promised, they didn't return phone calls about negotiations with my insurance company, wrote unprofessional emails, treated me as if I were some clueless woman and charged 64% more than they originally quoted.
A technician came to my property to evaluate a water meter replacement. He quoted me around $800 TOTAL for all of the parts and labor. Upon billing, the total cost of the project was $2178.73. I called to resolve the issue, asking to see the receipt for total parts. Roto Rooter refused to show me their invoice for the parts, which they charged me $933 for. I went to their supplier and asked for the cost of all of the parts required for my project, for which they quoted $444 for. Though it may be reasonable to mark up the cost of parts by some percentage, a %210 markup is unethical. Roto Rooter offered to deduct $200 from the cost of labor. Furthermore, I was not onsite to sign for the completion of the project and see the final cost. Regardless of this, Roto Rooter attempted to charge my credit card for $2178.73 without notifying me that their final cost would be much much higher than their quote.
Do not hire this company to do any type of service for you.
From the beginning the estimate will be low balled.
The estimate of time involved grossly undercut.
The plumbing technicians do not know what they are doing and it has taken several visits to fix the original problem over other items they broke.
Management makes excuses and are corky and condescending when you call to discuss a remedy.
Sewage leak into my home has left me sick for weeks due to a cleanup team that handled the situation wrong.
Do yourself a favor....GO ELSEWHERE!!
I had a leak between my living room and dining room ceiling caused by a back-up in my upstairs plumbing and some bad connections left by a prior owner. Roto-Rooter came out, and without even testing the sinks upstairs, the tech said that the pipe was broken and they would need to cut into my ceiling and it would cost thousands of dollars. I called different plumbers for a second opinion--they determined the pipe was not broken, but instead a simple fix of the plumbing upstairs could do the trick. The tech should be ashamed of the scare tactics he used on me. What could have been fixed in a half hour in the morning instead cost me an entire day.
Jim H.I was on my way to see family in St. Louis the two days before Thanksgiving and my daughter called me from home telling me our sewer pipe was backed up and there was raw sewage in our utility room in a space about 10 feet by 3 feet and 1/2 inch deep. I'm three hours from home trying to decide if I call off our plans or try to solve it at a distance. We have been using Roto-Rooter from the Paragon Drive / Bridgeway Ave. location for the last two years. So I called them with the problem. They were able to get someone to the house within about 2 hours. Jared (1282) came to the house assessed the situation and then called me. We talked on the phone for about 10 minutes while he explained the plan of attack. My son (19) was going to be home for another day, so Jared worked with him. They cleaned up the mess including putting soiled things into heavy contractor garbage bags. They freed up the clogged pipe and then steam cleaned and sanitized the entire area. They finished the day by leaving a large HEPA filter and fans to dry the area. Throughout Jared was terrific as was his assistant Corbin (1866). I returned on Friday to a clean basement with no smells, no messes and simply spent my time getting the large garbage bags to the garage. I was amazed at how much they were able to save. They returned on Saturday for the equipment and had also scheduled a camera person to check out the drain. They gave us great instructions on how to handle the maintenance of this over the long run and what to ensure we are leaving out of the toilets. Roto-Rooter again averted disaster for us and did so with me 400 miles away!
Tracy E.Service was excellent. Our technician, Dave, was professional and efficient. He advised me of my options and estimates for each possibility up front and stuck to his original estimate. He explained everything very carefully and was just generally very personable. This service was not inexpensive, but I feel that he did a quality job that I can trust was done correctly.
The service techs were good guys and nice to my kids, however I was not happy with the prices, labor charges, conduit charges and most importantly the clean up. I had to spend another $500 on clean up because my lawn was torn up, my landscaping blocks were moved, old pipes laying on the ground, a wire was cut, etc. I called and left a message and did not get a response which tells me it's not a big deal to them. If the service techs weren't so nice and knowledgable this would have easily been a 1-star. I would recommend continue looking.
