When a pipe burst and water was everywhere on a Saturday evening, Roto Rooter was there to fix the problem for me and also to complete the water mitigation process. I am satisfied with the end result.

I had an emergency, after the monthly water bill diagnosed that there was a problem in a rather blunt way. I had an issue somewhere, but no clue where or how serious it was (turned out it was bad enough, but left unchecked, would've become much, much worse). I called Roto-Rooter, gave my name, address, phone number and my limited understanding of what the problem was, and within 30 minutes, a scheduler called back. I had a plumber at the house within 90 minutes of my initial call. He explained the problem to me, fixed it, continued to check the system and found an even more serious failure with water pressure, had to run to Home Depot to get a replacement valve, but fixed that too. He rechecked my meter out near the street. Everything was fine again. And, he explained why I needed to contact the water department with a copy of the repairs so I could at least recoup some of the money I paid in the outrageous bill. Start to finish, from the time I opened my email and saw the problem, to the time the plumber left with the job completed was less than 4 hours. I am very satisfied!

I called them, had an schedule for 10-2 no one showed up, got a call, said we will be there within 45 minutes, called back one and half hour later, they said we were there , no one was at the property and no one picked the call, i didn't receive any call from them or no one came in as we were there the whole time looking out, they told me the technician called the office many time saying that the technician called the office that we don't pick up the phone, I asked them so when he was calling you why didn't you call me!! They just lost me an entire day, i could have someone else looked into my problem!! Total BS

We've used Roto-Rooter twice in the last few weeks. The first time was for a pinhole leak in a pipe and we were impressed both with the quality of the repair and the speedy work. Juan also cleaned up the area, so one would have never known we had a plumber in. A couple of weeks later, we had a leak by the meter in the front yard. Water was pouring out and running down the street when we woke in the morning. The city came out and turned the water off and Roto-Rooter said they would send someone out as soon as they could. Dan came later that afternoon, explained what was required, and started working. After an entire day with no water, it was a relief just to know that someone was here. He not only repaired the leak (which was within 2 feet of the meter and not under the slab, thank goodness), but once again, put the area back to the way it looked before. I have never seen a pipe dug up and repaired and the ground look as though it had not been touched. Both times the estimates were reasonable and there were no """"surprises"""" at the end to increase the cost. I would hope a good while passes before we need a plumber again, this is an old house and I am not too optimistic. I will feel better, however, knowing I have someone to call that we can depend on.

The good: Called to fix sewer backup that happened 5 days after closing on our new house. Service to clear the clog was outstanding. They had the right equipment and really knew what they were doing. The clog was cleared after about 1.75 hours. [$450] This included running a camera through the line and showing us the video, so I think the price for this was reasonable. The bad: The source of the problem was identified as a 5 foot segment of partially collapsed sewer line in the front yard, 3 to 4 feet deep. Their estimate to dig and replace this segment was $5,800 (including adding an exterior cleanout). That's an absurdly high estimate. Two other reputable companies have given us quotes for the same work... one was $2,800 and the other $3,300. We'll be getting it done soon. My adult daughter was also convinced to authorize replacement of the pressure regulating valve for $650. That's about twice what a reasonable price would be. It took less than an hour and the part should be no more than $100. So although I do appreciate the skilled work that was performed, the pricing is excessive. I will not use them again.

Very professional and honest! My wife and I recently bought a home and as soon as we got home we discovered that we had a major plumbing issue. We found out that there were routes in our main sewer line that were clogging it up which cause the water to back up into our house. After months of trying to find cheaper alternatives other than a plumber, we went ahead and went with Roto-Rooter because they have financing. You called them they came out the next day to give us an estimate and had it finished by the end of the weekend! Thank you guys for your professionalism!

Had a water main break early sunday morning. Called at 5am sunday morning and they answered the phone whereas other places didnt. Then scheduled a tech and had a plumber out to fix within hours of my call. The technician named Angel was awesome, also helped troubleshoot the lack of pressure after he fixed the line break and we found mud in the line. Flushed it out and working just fine. Excellent service, available on weekends.

I had one rough service call on a Friday evening (my sister was here - not me, so I'm not fully clear on what was explained / not explained - I do know at least one of the prices quoted to me for a leaking sink faucet was excessive). A small repair was done to my toilet at $160 and he mentioned something to her about the pressure being too high to the house but it wasn't clear what the issue was with that. That same night the same spot was leaking on the toilet - worse than before. I called the next AM and they couldn't come out until the next afternoon. I wasn't thrilled. However, the same tech came out and took the time to explain to me that the core issue wasn't the leaking toilet - it was a pressure reducing valve that was no longer working down in the crawl space of the house. Pressure to the house was over 120 and should have been between 50 - 80; he explained this meant all of the pipes and valves in the house were handling higher pressures than they were meant to and that these small leaks would continue, or bigger pipes could burst, if the valve issue wasn't fixed first. That was a bigger fix than I was anticipating, but he worked with me on prioritizing what needed to be done and made sure I was comfortable with the work and expense. I appreciated the time he took.

So, I kept going back and forth about whether I should write a review. Ultimately, I'm going to say that I wouldn't recommend this company. You really don't know what plumber they're going to send you and if they're reliable. I scheduled an appointment initially through the website, primarily to replace my bathroom shower fixtures because the tub faucet notably protruded an inch out from the wall and required soldering to adjust for that. I get called later saying that the time that I requested wasn't standardly available (8 AM) so I had to reschedule later in the day. I only have one half day off during the week so it leaves a very narrow window for me to be there while they're doing the work before I had to rush to work. First guy they sent to help replace the showerhead and tub faucet quoted me about $400 (which included a guarantee apparently) but said they couldn't replace the valve cartridge/trim as it would have cost over $1,000. He said I should get a different trim for that portion as the trim that I purchased as part of a shower kit would not fit unless the cartridge was changed and that it would involve work outside their scope (repairing/replacing tile or putting a whole in my neighbors wall to change the valve/cartridge). So he replaces the tub faucet and it actually protrudes worse from the wall and he used the old showerhead trim to cover the gap and points to the new leaking Moen showerhead he replaced and said it was leaking due to a product defect. That absolutely did not make sense, it was leaking from every possible place there was to leak even though it was a brand new shower kit that cost $300. I realize later that he also nicked the new tub spout. They send a second guy to repair the damage the other guy caused and now the 8 AM slot is apparently available. Note, they were originally going to send the same person but I explicitly requested someone else. So the second guy repaired the leak from the shower head but agreed with the first guy that the valve trim would have to be replaced separately. He was nice enough to replace the nicked tub faucet at no additional cost. However, I have 2 problems remaining, I later realized that the brand new shower head faucet that I bought is also nicked at several points following their installation and neither plumber provided any information on recommendations for alternative valve trim replacements. I just got off the phone with Moen and it's not even a Moen valve so I don't have any clue what trim would actually be able to work as replacement, so I'm left roughly $700 out, the work looks poor, and my frustration just continues every time I look at the shower. If anyone can identify the valve/cartridge I'd be much appreciative by the way.
