If you have an emergency, they are large enough to come out immediately. While they may be a little more expensive, they come quickly, make the repairs and get you back in business. More importantly, they stand behind their work and are more than willing to resolve customer issues which sometimes arise from a large undertaking.

Roto-Rooter was supposed to show up for a repair estimate Monday. No show. And dispatch didn't call me to tell me the plumber wasn't coming until AFTER they had already exceeded their 4 hour arrival window. They pulled the same thing on Tuesday. Did the same thing on Wednesday. So imagine my surprise - when I scheduled another visit for Thursday and the plumber actually showed up. My technician, Rosen, was super dismissive. He did not seem to 'take me seriously.' With regards to the installing a sink and a toilet downstairs, he literally groaned and said, """"Ah, ma'am, you're not gonna want to do it."""" Really? Then why'd I schedule a visit? Its not because I have some horny housewife fetish and I requested a good looking plumber with muscles, washboard abs and perfectly coiffed hair. Lmbo. When I pressed him, he told me, """"To give you an accurate price, I'm gonna have to get my field supervisor out here, because I can see your drain here - but once its outside the house - I don't know if it goes this way, then this way . . . or if it goes this way . . . it's gonna be too much. Maybe $5000. Maybe $7000."""" When I asked if I could get a field supervisor - because I needed a definitive amount not a roundabout amount, he snapped, """"OKAY! You need a definite amount - then it's gonna be $7000."""" At this point - I KNEW this was gonan be a waste of my time - but I figured he was here - and I'd spent all this time and energy - so I showed him the valve stem (or diverter) issue in the guest bath. And showed him where I'd like the spigot outside on the upstairs deck. He told me he didn't understand why I wanted a spigot outside on the deck and recommended that we just keep a hose upstairs and run it up to the deck and just turn it off and on as needed. Well, Mr. Plumber-Man - that's exactly what we've BEEN doing. And I pointed to the hose with sprayer currently dangling from the deck. I didn't talk to him about how we've broken multiple sprayers over the years - when the hose falls to the concrete below. I didn't talk to him about how SOMEONE sometimes forgets to go back downstairs to turn the hose off. And I didn't talk to him about how we got an insane water bill once when SOMEONE left the hose on and the valve on sprayer failed, causing it to open - while we were out of town - meaning the water was on, unchecked and gushing everywhere for 7 days non-stop. I did tell him that it's typically between 9pm and 5am when I decide to clean the doggy litter box and it's really not a good look to go tromping around outside in the dark trying to turn a water hose on and off. Last time - a moth flew at me and I dropped my phone and screamed like a little girl and nearly broke my ankle running away from a freaking moth. The time before that - I could have sworn a tarantula crawled across my wrist when I reached to turn the water off. Lol. Any way - I didn't even bother to get a quote for tub replacement in the Master bath. Honestly - I felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman when she goes in that swanky salon and the staff is giving her the bum's rush. I wanted to pull some hundreds of out purse and throw them on the counter and scream, """"I got money to spend in here!"""" Lmbo. About the only project he seemed interested in was the screaming valves or diverter in the guest bath. And even on that one - he told me that he felt like the noise was not a big deal and kept warning me that if it was the diverter, he'd have to cut into the sheetrock in linen closet and I'd need to pay someone to come back to fix the sheetrock. I explained to him that the previous technician had played with it and now it was only making that noise when you turned on the diverter - but before that day - the pipes hissed and screamed when the hot water was on. When the cold water was on. When water was diverted to the shower. When water was flowing from the faucet. It made it nearly impossible to shower without wearing hearing aides. I felt like he was trying to talk me out of every project. He also didn't provide me with any written estimates (not on paper or via email). He did seem to warm up a little about 2 seconds before he left, when he presented me with his business card. He'd written in an amount of $3150. So apparently, Roto Rooter, sent me the Good Will Hunting of service technicians - I guess he'd added up the numbers in his head - but for the life of me - based on the numbers I'd written down for the guest bathroom faucet and the outdoor spigot - I have no idea how he arrived at this number. Roto Rooter may be a great company in general - but it's clear from these reviews that your experience is going to vary greatly dependent on your technician - and it's clearly the luck of the draw!

Run away! Home sewer backed up so no sinks or stools. The 7x24 advertisement is total BS; called at 10pm and they could not send someone until """"between 8am and noon"""". The tech showed up on time the next morning and was awesome but could not find the problem. Pre-paid $520 to get a camera crew out same-day (to be followed by another tech visit) but they did not show up. When I called, the dispatcher said that whoever I spoke with should not have made that commitment and the camera would be out the next day. I cancelled. Found another plumber who solved the problem (and laughed when I mentioned Roto-Rooter). Since then, I have been trying to get my $520 back. Multiple people assured me it would be done but it does not get done. I will NEVER use them again.

Roto Rooter came to my house due to a toilet back up on 6/26/20 and they charged me $680 to clear my main sewer line and by pulling up the toilet (that is it they did nothing else). Then they charged me $520 to put camera down the sewer to see what the issue was. There were roots in my sewer line. The issue I had with this how much they charge was just to get a diagnosis of the issue. Now I have never had this type of problem before but I really feel that they over charge just find out what the problem is. I happen to think that $1200 was not reasonable to find out what the problem was and then suggest $10,000 repair solution and that I need a new toilet before installing the toilet back in place. I choose this company because they were on the Better Business Bureau website and I thought I could trust them. I suggest that you shop around before using this company.

Absolutely horrible and unethical company. Do not, I repeat DO NOT use them unless you want to be ripped off. If you do decide to use them, at a minimum get a second quote/opinion and get an idea of the labor and material breakdown. I called them to diagnose a leaky faucet sink. The tech arrived and said the entire faucet needed to be replaced. The quote was $600 to repair the faucet, not including materials or the cost of the replacement kitchen faucet. When I questioned how long the work would take the technician was very vague and said it could take five minutes or five hours. Which is complete BS because it's a standard faucet replacement in a new home. I essentially stated that based upon standard rates that $600 seemed exorbitantly high but I was not going to argue on rates and decided not to proceed. I then called another company who came and looked at the job and laughed after taking off the handle. Apparently the handle cartridge just needed to be tightened. I was charged $75 and everything was fixed. No faucet replacement needed. I believe Roto-rooter purposely tries to do more work than is necessary which is completely unethical. Also a $600 quote to replace a faucet which should take an hour is a complete rip-off. If you want to use them I definitely suggest getting another quote and also requesting a labor and materials breakout. There are standard hourly rates for plumbers that you can compare with and see if it's fair or if they are trying to price gouge.

I had an issue with my sump pump in my crawlspace not pumping water out.. i called around 9 pm and they guaranted service within 4 hours! I was so happy as it kept raining and i was sick of dry vacuuming my crawl space out to avoid damaging my home. As it turn out, i did have to wait for 8 am the next day, which was disappointing. The next day Ray out and did a fantastic job. He got all the water out, took my pump out, confirmed it was broken, and got me a brand new pump installed. Thank you roto-rooter!

I have worked with this company before. In march of 2018. My sewer line was backed up and flowing out of the ground. Roto rooter came and fixed it for approximately $400 with a 6 month warranty. A year and half later, the same issue happened and a tech came out and introduced himself as a supervisor on August 4th of this year and quoted me $450 to do the same thing. It took less than 30 min to basically clean the drain out. He showed me on camera where roots were growing by the clean out and said it needed to be replaced and that would stop the sewer backflow from happening again. He said he would send me a quote later that day once he spoke to his boss. I didn't hear from him that day, so I texted him the next morning and he sent me a quote for $1850. That's a lot but if it was going to fix the problem ok. Less than 2 weeks later, the sewer backflowed again coming up in the downstairs shower so I called them(Roto-Rooter) yet again to go ahead and fix the problem. They sent a text that had a thick English accent and within 10 minutes of standing outside talking to my husband and I, he quoted me a price of $616. I told him I was not going to pay them to do the same thing they did less than 2 weeks ago and get the same results. I wanted the problem fixed. I called customer service and was transferred to a dispatch supervisor and he called his supervisor on his phone. Basically what was told to me was that I didn't have a warranty on what was done on August 4th and he wouldn't give me a warranty on the work he was going to do because of the roots but if they fixed it, I would get a warranty. So I was told they would be back out today to fix the issue for $1850 with a 1 year warranty. Still ridiculous that they expect all of that money for a year's warranty. When the tech showed up, I asked him if they were willing to subtract the $450 that was paid to them less than 2 weeks ago form the $1850. His response was he was told I agreed to the $1850 and he was there to do the work. I called a lady named Kirsten whom I talked to earlier in the day because she told me to forget about that amount, to get it out of my head and here's why. That tech wasn't supposed to be there. He was going by what Adin who is the tech from August 4th told him. Kirsten sent out a manager who put a camera down the line. He had the nerve to tell me it's gonna cost around $5600. Yes, i'm serious. So my question is what were they going to do for $1850. I'll tell you what, they were going to rip me off and say they fixed it. This tech wasn't sent out by Kirsten but was ready to take my $$ and fix something that the manager said wouldn't fix the problem. I'm so upset, I could scream. I don't trust them now and will never work with them again. I cannot understand how I was told $1850 with texts to prove it by the tech that came out 1st, then quoted 3x times more. No one can explain what the tech was planning on fixing for that amount. I'm heartbroken and disgusted at the way people all over are being taken advantage of. I was referred to them a couple of years ago and actually referred my aunt to them. Now, thankfully we are both done with ROTO-ROOTER

All 4 of my toilets were not flushing. Called Roto Rooter and Ryan came out to """"Scope the problem"""" He told me I had broken pipes and showed me the pictures of what he said were my broken pipes. Ryan turned job over to Dylan who tried to diagnose the problem for more than 1 day and still did not know where the clog was. Dylan called supervisor Stanley and they told me all my pipes needed to be replaced and were working on the """"best way to fix"""". They gave me a price of $12,500 initially but there might need to be more as they could not diagnose problem. I called Pink Plumber and within 30 minutes they diagnosed the problem and fixed. They said there were NO broken pipes and took my under crawl space and showed me. They fixed plumbing for less than $3800. Roto Rooter lied about broken pipes, were going to charge a crazy amount to fix thing that did nto need to be replaced and there were 3 different men - all employed by Roto Rooter - who were in on this !!!! Stay away from this company !!

Kostadin came out and cleared a blockage in my water line that was causing water to back up in the shower and tubs in 2 bathrooms. When the toilets in each room was flushed, it would come up in the shower and tubs. These bathrooms are above the garage, and a substantial amount of water leaked down the ceiling in the garage, causing a couple of puddles on the garage floor. He arrived on time, and determined the root of the problem: Toilet wet wipes! The ones advertised on the package as """"flushable!!"""" He resolved the issue and schooled me on the fact that wet wipes may indeed be """"flushable,"""" but it doesn't make them biodegradable like toilet paper. So they'll accumulate at the bottom of the pipes, until becoming problematic. Lesson learned. Wet wipes may be the best thing since sliced bread, just toss them in trash, not the toilet. Even the ones advertised as being flushable!!! The issue of the leaking garage ceiling still needed to be resolved, and Kostadin was on it. He scheduled to have Adam from Roto-Rooter's water restoration team come in the next morning to assess the damage. Adam came out and helped me with filing a claim with my insurance. Roto-Rooter's came out the following day to begin the water restoration process. They completed it in just a few days, and helped refer me to another company to patch up the ceiling and bathroom tiles, etc. I am very happy with the overall process. They were very efficient and professional, and definitely gained my trust.

These people are crooks and scammers: Had a blocked line and someone came out and without trying to clear the line said that I might have tree roots in the line and they needed to do a scope for free. A second tech came and scope the line and said the line is crushed. A crushed line sounds like a major issue, so I agreed to have them fix it. They said it will cost $5,600 which made me believe that the problem is extensive, it turn out they are just expensive there was no crushed line but they cut a 3ft section of the 4"""" PVC pipe and repaired it with two coupling and cleaned out the grease that was blocking the line, which the first guy should have done with the snake. All this should have cost about $560 so they charged me about 10 time more that it should cost. I spoke with the manager about the exorbitant charge but he was not willing to adjust bill or the resolve this issue.
