I think the labor was really expensive for the amount of work that was done. The labor was 545 dollars to replace a drain pipe under my bathroom tub even though I purchase the parts prior to the labor. This fee to me, seemed to be pre-arranged prior to his visit.
Beth S.I called Roto-Rooter's on New Year's eve day at my home in Bensalem PA 19020. I put potato peels in my garbage disposal, and it clogged the drain. I was dumbfounded when he gave me the bill for 440.00 to snake a drain. That is robbery! He was there for maybe 30 minutes, and he experienced no complications. The company totally took advantage of the situation. How do you justify charging that much money to snake a drain. Avoid this company at all cost. They're thieves with a license.
Larry T.Recently, I had a leak that was caused by a broken T joint in a ceiling of a store front in Princeton, which came from the upstairs bathroom apartment. I had made a cutout myself to expose the leaking pipe so a professional could fix the problem. When Ben Capili Gave me his initial quote it was $800 to fix, even with the open ceiling which I thought was outrageous, but I needed the work done ASAP. Then he said he needed another worker, Peter Skubera. When they thought they fixed the problem they tried turning the water back on but it was still leaking, so they told me there needed to be more work done. Peter was very aggressive with his selling tactics because the price went from $800 to $4500!!! When the water turned back on it was still leaking so they needed to cut more ceiling out and add more piping from a problem they made!!! I had no choice but to go with their super inflated price, the business needed to be open and in working order, and the tenant upstairs needed her water back on. When they finished the job I called the manager of Roto Rooter in Sommerset and complained about the price inflation, but I was told that it's my fault I accepted the price. I'm so disappointed and upset with the outcome of this whole situation and not a single person from this company had shame or empathy for this ridiculousness. They can be sure that I will never recommend this company to any of my colleagues, family or friends.
Renee S.We had a previous plumber come out who didn't have a clue what was wrong with the plumbing in our basement. He didn't even recognize the toxic smell as sewage gas, which in my opinion should be basic plumbing 101. Anyway, we called Roto-Rooter next and they had someone come out the same day. Gene was so knowledgeable and diagnosed the issue within 20 minutes of talking and checking a few things. Gene came back the next day and fixed everything for us, including another small issue he uncovered while taking apart our pump. Aside from helping us resolve a seriously toxic situation, he was extremely friendly and enjoyable to work with. I will absolutely be calling Roto Rooter first next time! Good luck!
Way too expensive, and the aggressive tactics are very unwelcome. We had a clogged sewer pipe the day after Thanksgiving, and Roto-Rooter charged $511 for a 20-minute job!! And they sent out, unsolicited, a ""rehab"" expert who pitched me on cleaning up my wet basement. And the plumber who came aggressively pitched me on spending $7500 to replace my sewer line!
We had a clogged kitchen sink. Roto Rooter came promptly, and were able to fix the clog quickly (about 15 minutes of work). But they charged us $420 in labor for this 15 minutes.
Scott P.Had a stopped drain in my tub and needed it fixed ASAP. It was rather late in the day when I finally gave up trying to fix it myself so I called them and was thrilled to hear that they could send someone out that evening. The serviceman was delayed for a while at his previous job and RR called regularly to update me on his status. I really appreciated this; so much better than being left to sit around wondering. When he arrived around 8pm he was very friendly, stated the cost up front, and went to work. It took about an hour but when he was finished the drain was running like new. The work also came with a six-month guarantee. I'm very happy with this service and will definitely call again should some other problem arise.
They trick you and overcharge, look for fake issues and make it seem like they did you a favor when really they just ruined your life from the prices. They wrote on the contract that cleaning was included on whole cost then decided to try to take us to court when we said that we wont pay for cleaning when it was roto rooters responsibility. Less than a year later, the issue with the flooding is back and we wasted over 4 grand for nothing. They scam and threaten you, they know exactly what theyre doing. solving no issues but pretending they are so you come back to them.
Nita F.Service was beyond first class. I felt more like a family member than a client. Unfortunately, I experienced a water supply line break in my master bath which caused some flooding in my downstairs living room. When the Plumber arrived at my home, he immediately took an assessment of everything and referred me to their restoration crew, which I didn't even know they had. Justin fixed replaced my broken pipe while Ed managed talking with my homeowners insurance to make sure I was covered and getting the crew to arrive later that day to remove the damaged walls and ceiling. I can't say enough of how well everything was handled and how comfortable I was made to feel while experiencing something I felt initially was disastrous. I am so glad I called Roto-Rooter first!
Second time Roto Rooter sent the African American plumber Anthony to my house in Philadelphia in June. First visit about 1-2 years ago he didn't do a good job and Roto Rooter had to send somebody else to fix the leaking problem. Second visit in June 2017, Roto Rooter sent Anthony again. This time he brought an attitude with him like asking me to turn on the main faucet and the leaking valve for him. He wouldn't do it himself. I wondered what did I pay
him for? When I mentioned that I found a coupon on the Roto Rooter site that I wanted to use, he wasn't happy about it and gave me a sarcastic remark saying "" Now you want to use a coupon also?"" indicating that I'm a demanding and difficult customer. He fixed the leaking problem this time but I'm giving it a 1 star rating because I don't like his attitude. My friends and family recommend Roto Rooters to me because of its great service and I'd expect their employees to be professional and courteous to customers.
