1st plumber we had told us completely wrong information about what hardware in our shower would fit our system. 2nd plumber we had told us the 1st plumber was wrong (both roto-rooter) then went on to actually be very rude- was very abrupt in his explanations about why things didn't work, told me he ""didn't even see the first plumber in the system coming to our house"" aka he didn't believe me, and when I asked him to give me a demo of what he did he seemed frustrated and annoyed that he had to show me. All the while- after 2 visits, our shower was still not fixed! I called in again and asked to speak to the manager. That was 4 days ago, still have yet to hear from him. I will NEVER use Roto-Rooter again and to be honest have already used a different plumber in the area who was knowledgeable, KIND, and got the job done in less than 2 hours!
Steve (#3637) and Caleb (#5403) arrived before 8:00a (an hour after I placed service call). They fully snaked sewer line 3 times to ensure no more tree roots were in the line and also offered scoping services for later in the day.
Jon W.They charged me $320 to install Sharkbite fittings to fix a leak in a closed off ceiling. I could have done that! The whole reason I hired a plumber was to avoid Sharkbite fittings! Rationale provided was a complete lie. They also failed to show up for their first appointment and were five hours late for their second.. 24 hour service is a joke.
A L.A little after lunchtime today, my kitchen sink backed up & spewed water all over the undersink cabinet. My tub also backed up. I tried to fix things with my (extremely limited) skills, but by 3:30 PM I gave up & called Roto-Rooter. They had Kyle (#4598) at my front door by 4:30 PM & he was done by 5:30 PM. He cleaned the drain with a power snake, tested the tub & sink by running lots of water, then sold me an enzyme-based drain cleaner to help keep the pipes clear. The service call was $284 (with a $50 Yelp coupon) & the cleaner was $49. As a new homeowner I have no idea if this is a good price or not, but the service was excellent & I would definitely consider giving RR a call again. Kyle was polite, friendly, knowledgeable, willing to explain things to me, & even cleaned my kitchen floor around the sink when he was done working. Top-notch.
I had sewage back up into my newly remodeled basement so I called Roto Rooter. They had plumbers and restoration people at my house fixing the problem the next day, all of whom were extremely professional and friendly. They helped me through the process, including advising me about filing an insurance claim. They all presented themselves as competent professionals and I would definitely use them again if needed. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because when I initially called at 8:30pm at night, it took a few follow up phone calls from me to clarify that it would be better to have them come out first thing in the morning for an appointment than wait all night for them to show up, since they only had a couple guys on call after hours. It would have been better had they just told me that from the start. But otherwise they were great and I highly recommend them.
Serena E.These all have the same dispatch so read the reviews for Littleton. Expensive. Notoriously late. Refuse to give pricing over the phone.
I phoned for a leaking garbage disposal and had Bob here within an hour. He was very personable and answered all my questions on what turned out to be a rusted and leaking unit. I approved the estimate and had the disposal replaced within 30 minutes. Service was great and I would overall rate higher but I thought parts charges were expensive as I see the same disposal sold at Home Depot for half the price listed by RR. I know that I paid for the convenience of not shopping and carrying it home but still that seemed high to me.
Heather G.I called on a Sunday evening for a plumbing call to fix my hot water heater.
We scheduled the service call for the following day, Monday, 7-11pm (after I get home from work).
Monday at 8:30pm, they called and said they don't actually have skilled enough plumbers available after 5pm so they'd have to reschedule my job for the next day.
They claimed they left me a message to tell me at 5:30pm Monday (they did not leave any messages).
1) If they don't have skilled plumbers available after 5pm weekdays, why did the person who took my original call schedule service for 7-11pm? Their outgoing phone message clearly states that they provide ""after hours plumbing service"" - but apparently not if you need someone skilled enough to deal with a water heater! I clearly stated in the original call that my water heater needed service. So their marketing is misleading.
2) If they couldn't perform the service 7-11pm, why didn't someone notice it when they looked at their schedule Mon AM and call me as soon as possible to reschedule or allow me to cancel? I could have had all day Monday during biz hours to find another plumber. Instead, they waited to call me at 8:30pm, probably because waiting to tell me after normal business hours would increase the odds that'd I'd reschedule the appt. with them.
3) They did NOT leave any messages earlier, as they claimed.
I spoke to a dispatch manager about my disatisfaction with their customer service. To his credit, he listened, was not defensive, and promised that they would learn from their mistakes to avoid these situations in the future.
But that does NOT remedy the fact that I have no hot water - AGAIN for another day. Common sense, good business practices and mindful service would have saved me a huge headache in finding another plumber and paying expensive emergency fees.
The plumber was early, gave an estimate, did a great job and cleaned up and left. Every time we have used them they are wonderful! Thanks again! Would recommend highly!!
Roto Rooter cause extra damages to my house above the normal damages of repairing my sewage pipe.. I called several to discuss the matter. Took and sent it to them. They said they would look into it and get back with me. They never got back to me. I called several after to follow up. Agian no one ever got back to me. The damages that were done. My Laundry Pedestal looked brand new before the workers came. The next day when I got over the sticker shock for the cost of the repair, I notice a hole and crack in my Laundry Pedestal as if the Jack Hammer that they used to rip up my tile to get to the pipe hit it. Also after they were finished draining my pipe, the machine that used spilled sewage on my whit carpet. They tried cleaning that up and I tried with my home steam cleaner but the stain is still there.
Since they charged me $6800 to repair my pipe, you would think the company would be responsible for any other damages they caused except for the damage of tearing up my tile.
The price of $6800 is hard for me to justified since the material they used to repair my pipe would not cost them more than a $1000 and it took 3 guys 8 hours this included transport time to complete the job. I had a 10 ft sewage pipe replaced. I am wondering what cost $5800 to justified the total cost.
