James arrived at the location promptly on time. He quickly analyzed the issue, tried out a solution which resolved the issue. He also called upon Rob who helped with a video diagnosis that helped identify the root cause and suggested a few options to resolve it. I thank James and Ron for saving my day. I highly recommend Roto-rooter.

With a sudden and constant dripping water from my shower, I called Roto-Rooter to make an appointment, as the company is well graded on yelp. I had a hard time to express my concern with the lady who answered my call. After a few minutes, she told me that no leaking inspection was available in my area.
OK-
So, I called an other company- Which send someone to check and make an assessment about the leak-

Zero star! Stay as far away from this company as possible! All that they care about is to rip you off without fixing your problem.
Their technicians will come charge you 3x the market fair price, do a crappy job and trick you into paying them with the ""90-day warranty"". Then, with escalation to the general manager, they are still full of excuses. And the first thing the GM thought of to emphasize is that ""you can't block the credit card payment"".
So, apparently, everyone is unhappy about their job and has been requesting for a refund. Hard to believe that they would rather spend the time arguing with customers and humiliating them, rather than actually fixing the problem.
Don't waste your time or money on this crappy company.
[Edit to respond to the Customer Satisfaction Manager below] If anyone at this company cares about the customers at all, you would be able to find my case and would have resolved it by now.
I have called so many times over the past few days to request a refund, as they charged $500 for nothing. The GM didn't want to hear from the customer, he just kept repeating ""what my technician says"" and ""you can't block the credit card payment"". If the technician, Gerald, does his job to fix the problem, I wouldn't be spending my time trying to reach you!
So, in summary, they charge 3x the price, do not fix the leak, and do not care what the customers have to say. And I feel obligated to share that with everyone reading.

I hope this is the right Roto Rooter since there's so many. They're all one big company so it doesn't matter. Water heater stopped working and had a leak. My roommate suggested I call them so I did. Could get service within 2 hours. Great. Barnaby called before coming and arrived on time, Water heater is broken. Ask for the price and I literally laughed out loud. $4k he said to replace the water heater. Um hell to the no. Got a quote over the phone for $1500 for hot water heater and can come early the next am. Went with that company. Long story short but go for another company.

Very rude technicians!! We told them it's overpriced and the guy (Theo) responded as though we were beggars!!! I had to go ahead and use the service as it was emergency!!! Would not use them again !!!!

I had a sewer line service from Roto-Rooter recently and found their service was very pricey. Make sure you ask a quote from other providers before ask Roto -Rooter Plumbing services. Blessings

Very bad experience. I just asked for a quote about replacing a bathroom faucet, and guys shows up and gave me a quote of $700+. I respectfully told the guy that's out of my price range. He went out of the door and told me ""you should find a guy from home depot"" and ""god, wasted my time"". Very rude and unprofessional. I used to have good experience with Roto-Rooter, but such behavior is not acceptable and I suggested you take your business to somewhere else.

While they responded quickly and unclogged a toilet from too much TP, $339 is way over priced for 2 minutes of work. Charge a nominal call out fee like $75 and $50 tops to unclog it. The technician dropped the business end of the snake on our floor leaving some poop and dirty water and didn't even bother to acknowledge it or clean it up.

Used them to replace a rheem (home depot) water heater that was leaking. They charged us $4400 for this (Bay Area, CA) - Though they were quick and we got it done in 4 hrs from service call to done, it seems like an outrageous price for a water heater replacement.

These guys are super unethical and will overcharge you however they can. Their technician Theo came in to order a part for my water heater since their other technician did not do that after charging me $160 for the first visit. After he ordered the part, he gave me an outrageous quote of $1000 to fix it. When the part arrived and I told him I don't want him to fix it, he wanted to charge me $400 for talking on the phone (which they were supposed to do as a part of the first visit) if I wanted the part.
Going to report this company to better business bureau.
I wish I had read the reviews before contacting these guys. Hopefully this helps someone.
