Recommended Customer Reviews

This review is not for the company per se, but rather goes out to an outstanding employee, Carlos. If there were such a thing as employee of the year, Carlos is the true winner. He not only showed up promptly to our residence and completed the job in a timely manner, but he truly helped us out in a very ""sticky situation."" Carlos, you're a good man and I can't thank you enough for your help.

Our bathtub got clogged. We called a plumber but he was a no show. Then we tried Roto-Rooter and he came at with in the agreed time frame. Miguel (senior) was a great help. He got it unclogged in no time. Also was able to answer some doubts and question that we had.

I had a blocked drain that I couldn't fix. They came out within a couple of hours which was great, but their quote was ridiculous for the job. It took them 2 mins to look at the sink and quote me $277.41(ever heard f a plumber quoting to the cent?). I told them that was crazy and that I have a quote for $95, they adjusted and did it for $125. They did the job in about 15 minutes. All in all it was ok but NEVER accept their first quote, you should be able to haggle them down at least 50%.

I called for an emergency plumbing issue. I asked for the earliest appointment. I wake up early to wait for plumber only to have a call an hour into the window of their supposed arrival to be told that they would be there four hours later. This is a joke. Worst customer service. I hate being lied to. If you can't make the appointment, don't set it in the first place. Told them I don't want their service and called another plumber. Will never consider this business again and I will be sure to warn all others about them as well.

I had a stopped-up toilet. The Professionals (Rick and Jerry) out of the Glendale CA Office could not have been more polite and Professional. They 'fixed' my Problem in an efficient and Friendly manner, with just a minimum of Stink. I love to see Pros at work. Hats off to the Team of Rick and Jerry. Don't take this the wrong way, but I hope to not see them again soon.
Superb Customer Service, and Superb ""Fixing My Problem"". They did not do a 'quick fix', but they took the time to Identify, and SOLVE my Problem.
More Plumbing Professionals should take a look at what Rick and Jerry do, every day, to solve Problems.
My Heroes!

Roto Rooter tech came out, and wanted to charge $1100.00 to hydro jet my drains. LOCOS!!!!
Googled ""rooter"" and found ""L.A Hydro Jet company"". They will do ALL the work for $400!
Roto-Rooter is a rip off!!!!

Sunday April 20th called them for a backed up kitchen sink at about 10am after my trusty plumber's phone did not respond.
They told me they charge $45 for service call and the plumber will give me an estimate on the job which if I accept it the $45 will be applied to estimate.
by the time the technician got to my house it was about 11:40 which is ok, he told me there was many complications involved and he needed to spend a lot of time so the estimate was $350.00.
being pressed for time and lost my other options I accepted it. he finished the job after 15-20 minutes which was fairly easy to my opinion!
I felt I had been taken advantage of and immediately called two other plumbing companies and got quotes of $95 and $120.
I believe I have been charged an unfairly too high. If I had time to wait and shop could have been less than half or even a third of what I paid them.
I will not call them anymore no matter how desperate my situation.

This company was terrible. I knew I had a drain problem when the toilet started gurgling. Roto Rooter came out and the guy wasn't listening to what I was saying. He did a rush job cleaning out the pipes and half of what I requested as this was his last job before the weekend started. He swore that my problems were fixed.
Needless to say, the sinks clogged a week later. When I asked my plumber what to do, he told me that Roto Rooter was the worst and recommended Century Rooter instead (800-782-4744), who came 3 hours after I called them and solved my problem.

have to tell you, the service was quick they came 45 min after i called at 1 pm on a thursday afternoon.
service teck arrived and was polite and explained the proceedure(better than my last doctor!!!)
he wokred on the main line stoppage for at least 1-1.5 hours. he went 170 feet down till he opened the line. what a relief!!!
he really went the extra 2 miles to be sure we were taken care of.
after he cleaned up the area and washed it doen.
a complete job well done mike-13
we have used this service for the last 18 years and have had work done both inside and outside the house. never dissappointed
congrats to the supervisor for hireing the best teck!!!!!

Flat out horrible.
The only thing good was the phone customer service system. Very easy to talk to and they came quite quickly. Thats about it.
So, I called. A ""Plumbing Agent"" answers, asking what the problem is. I give her the answer, 'my sink is clogged. Nobody else in the building is experiencing anything wrong. It seems to be local to my apartment.' This is where things already go south - she answers: ""ok, it appears to be that you are having an issue with the mail line."" I aksed, ""are you sure? You are not here and have no idea about this building, how do you know rhis"" Her reply is - ""well thats what most issues are, so I am assuming"" I just told her to someone out here and have him look at it.
(After about 3 hours)
Sol, the plubmer, comes in. He takes a look. Literally. He just looks at the sink with water in it. Then asks me how many stories the building is. The answer is three. But why is that relevant? I already told him that I am the only one with the problems, and I live on the ground floor. It is physically impossible for that to have any relevance to my situation - especially when I am the only tenant with the issues. He then walks out front and looks at the building. He explains to me what work he has to do. Which is, there is a clog in the main line. Again, if that is the case, then why am I the only unit in the building with problems?I get some half assed answer and continues that he has to pump out the water with a vacuum and then take the entire sink apart below. Etc, etc...Comes out to $790. Which I already knew, from experience that a job like this should cost no more than $80.
I told him that I know how plumbing works. I think I have a good grasp of the concept. I told him that if I had a heavy duty snake, then I would be able to do it myself. ""Thank you, but will figure it out another way.""
He left. I went to home depot and bought their mid-sized sink snake. $59. I came home and unclogged my sink. Easy as pie. Took me 15 minutes. There is no such thing as an $800 clogged sink. A drain DOES NOT need to be taken apart for the avg clog. The water DOES NOT have to be sucked out. It will all drain once the clog is released.
I was reading reviews on here saying they came quick and they fixed it in no time and for only around $300. It was quick because pluming clogs are easy to fix. And for only $300? That is not only, that is actually a lot. Even if you have the trifecta - sink, bathtub, and toilet. I would saY $150, MAXIMUM.
Roto-Rooters are crooks, liars, and scammers. Plain old thieves. It's not 100 years ago. We know our stuff. NEVER EVER EVER use them.
