The bathroom in our ""guest bathroom"" used by my mother-in-law was having issues with the toilet draining slowly (the sink was too it turns out)

I had used Roto-Rooter before so I called their national number.

I asked how much it costs to fix. They REFUSE to tell me but say ""we will have someone there in an hour"" which they did. When he got here, he said it was $420 to hand-snake the sink and $317 for the toilet (bigger opening, I guess). And that it would take no more than 30 minutes to complete.

That's over $1,250 per hour billable!!!! That's a normal work year for that tech making a mere $2,500,000 to fix toilets.

This is BAIT AND SWITCH at the highest level.

I said that I was sorry for wasting the time of the tech but I sent him away.

In the end, the project was MUCH MORE complex because of roots (see crazy images below) but it cost me $420 - AKA well less than 1/2 for much more work.

One-star review - well-earned guys. You stink and I will NEVER use your services again.

Any Hour came out and could not clear line, they also ran a camera. after determined they could not clear line, they said no charge and left. i called Rotor Rooter, exact same outcome on the service, could not clear line and ran camera. RR charged me over $500 dollars.

Terrible experience overall. I needed a quote and was told it would be free (it's also stated that way on their website). They arrived late and after they inspected the area that needed to be fixed they attempted to charge me $450. I asked why since all I needed was a quote and no actual work was completed. They said this type of quote would cost $450 however, they never mentioned this prior. Mind you I did not need them to tell me if there was a leak or not, I already was made aware of the leak by a home inspector. I just needed to know how much it would cost to fix this particular leak. Based on this experience and other reviews, seems like this company is really good at finessing people. Because of this, I will not be using them again and will not recommend them to anyone. In fact, I will be highly advising everyone to never use this company. Thank you for absolutely nothing.

Horrible company. Raul took advantage of us and charged us 4500 and said this would fix the problem only to have the problem happen again. Felt very taken advantage of. Shame on them! Takes advantage of small companies. Con artists and reported to better business bureau. Please go anywhere else because they will take advantage and you have to take their word because I can't see the plumbing and root issues going on.

Matthew did a fantastic job, he was very prescient on finding our issues and fixing our problem throughly and efficiently. Old house with old pipes, he was able to quickly locate a buried line and follow through with the repair and drain service. Very respect and reliable, thank you Matthew for all your help!

I requested a tech come out same day through their online portal and received a prompt response and was able to get a tech out within a few hours of my initial request to clear a tub drain. The tech spent about 30-45 minutes and sort-of cleared the tub drain. He told me that he could only get his snake down the drain about 2 feet then ""hit something hard and it wouldn't go any further"" and it would be another $500 to get his camera out to see what his snake was hitting. I told him no way and to just do what he could, which he did and I guess it cleared the drain enough to get the water to go down. But for the $355 that I paid I was anticipating a full drain clearing. I will not be using them again, way too expensive for what you get.

(update) we bought a drain camera on amazon for $35 and looked down the drain ourselves, turns out his snake was just to big to go down our pipes and we were able to clean it out ourselves with a harbor freight snake for 40 bucks. I will never use these guys again total ripoff. (I'm keeping this review as 2 star instead of 1 because the tech was polite and on time)

Noor Bashardost a field technician did an excellent job of fixing our plugged kitchen sink drain. He was fast, efficient and cleanup up everything. He and his coworker new exactly what to do, got the right equipment from their truck and got it done for us. Big relief!

I am had the same issues a lot of the other negative reviewers have posted. The service technician was prompt and on time. However, all he was required to do was to reattach my garbage disposal, which somehow came loose and check the lines under the sink coming out of the disposal to make sure nothing was leaking. The service was very basic and took 15 minutes but I was charged $392.00. That's way too high for the task but I couldn't wait until next week for this to be seen. Later today, after running the dishwasher, one of the connections must be loose and there are still puddles of water under my sink from the loose connection.

Props to the woman that took my initial call to take the appt. Very profession and competent. But your plumbers charge more than my doctors!

We had the worst experience ever. We had an appointment for ""afternoon"" and called back toward the end of afternoon and were told that we were next in line. We called an hour after ""afternoon"" and we told, again, that we were next in line. When we asked if we were looking at tomorrow, we were informed that, ""No, we keep working till the appointments are done. "" No one came or called. Then the next morning we were told that they never spoke to us telling us we were the next in line. AND, they would not honor the appointment and we were told it would be an emergency service call. Rotor Rooter is the worst. And the woman who answers the phone is a liar and is rude.

DO NOT USE!!

If I could give 0 stars, I would. 1 is WAY too many!! I contacted Roto-Rooter online on Monday, 10/23/23 and I received an email confirmation that said they would be at our house on Tuesday, 10/24/23. I received a call Tuesday, 10/24/23 a little after 4PM that said a tech was running late but would be there. No one showed up!!!

I received a call from Roto Rooter that night AFTER 11PM telling me a tech would be there Wednesday, 10/25/23 during the day between 9-1. That phone call woke me up and angered me because I had to be up the next morning at 5AM. What business makes call at that time of night?

Chad (2730) got there around 5 or 6PM on Wednesday, 10/25 and checked out our pipe outside of the garage because it was leaking water. He snaked it and said we had 24 hours to call if anything happened. That ticket # is 25438045.

That night my husband did a load of laundry and the water came out of the pipe again. On Thursday morning, 10/26/23 I called the number that we were given (1-800-GET-ROTO) and was told a tech would be there between 9A-1P. I received an email confirmation that sad a tech would be at our house between 10:38-12:38 (Ticket #: 25446487). No one showed up!!!


I received a call that evening that said someone would be at our house that next day (Friday, 10/27/23) between 9-1. AGAIN...No one showed up!!!


This is beyond unprofessional and is INFURIATAING. Imagine paying over $400 for that type of horrible service and not one person reaching back out. We want a resolution or a refund. Because while Roto-Rooter is not showing up, the water is still coming into our garage.
