Pirates, beware of anything you are told. We were taken advantage of on a weekend and lied to by the bidder. For a 1' gas line in the driveway that we later found out could have been fixed for $650 including labor, the Roto Rooter field guy said the line needed to be re-routed through the patio, with concrete saws and crew, at a cost of , wait for it, $11,000. This was fraud. Now we see the driveway has collapsed from faulty compacting once the rains came. We will be filing complaints with the State Contracting Board and Consumer Affairs as well as initiating individual lawsuit and class-action suit to correct this rapacious action. See pics of the damage attached. When I brought this to their attention, immediate response is:"" not our problem "", The driveway was fine for 20 years, then collapsed after their failure to compact proper materials. This co has no shame, and no interest in serving the public. A bunch of lying thieves.

Cotati, California February 2023
galvanized water pipe above ground rusted and starred leaking.
service tec came and put on a temporary patch. $525.00
came back replace a 90 elbow and a 18n long pipe. $1882.10.
Price appears wildly excessive......... I called and followed up by phone and email, 4 times. Asking for a labor and materials statement showing hours worked with labor rate and material list including prices.
I have been stone walled
NO detailed statement provided and No one at company will talk to me or return phone calls or email.
My conclusion after reviewing the job is: Parts used can be purchased at Home Depot for less than $20.00 and work should have taken lees than 2 hours to complete.
TOTAL RIPOFF I WILL NEVER USE OR RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY

I had my drains snaked and the snake put a whole in my trap. Two hours later water was leaking through my dining room ceiling.I called office same day was told some one would be her within 30 minutes...no one came!! I called again and office was closed!!I called in the morning and the plumber came by 9am but by this time water sat overnight in my ceiling. Plumber fixed the trap
but told me I would have to talk to owner when he returned from vacation about the 2x3 hole in my ceiling. The owner did not call me so I called 24 hours after he returned from vacation. He was very rude and told me I should be happy that the pipe they put a hole in was replacedsta for no charge. So after paying $500 for a snake job I now have to pay thousand for my ceiling to be replaced.I was told by owner I had a negative attitude.I am a senior on a fixed income .This company does not stand behind it's work

The toilet was backed up and then it started backing up into the shower. I called Roto-Rooter, and they had Eugene out in about 3-4 hours. Eugene was fantastic and amazing. He was a bit later than expected due to the job he was working on taking more time than expected, but he called to inform me. Not all service people take the time to call to say they are running a bit behind. I greatly appreciated that. Great customer service skills! He was patient with me and efficiently snaked the clean out. I was in a panicked state waiting for him and just praying he could resolve it, and he did! This was above and beyond service. I hope you get Eugene when you call Roto-Rooter. He's a gem, and they are lucky to have him represent their company.

This is in to response to what the owner posted online n response to my review. The Owner was NOT present nor willing/able to speak with us regarding irregularities but chooses to post blatant misinformation in a public response AFTER the fact. We were NEVER given an estimate before work was performed regardless what her technician put on his paperwork. Make himhow you the call on his phone. It did not happen. And the bill WAS paid. Open your mail in a timely fashion! YOU never called us personally to follow up. A true keyboard warrior in denial. Do your job and you wont have to worry about negative reviews. Outrageous response by an owner.

I have waited almost a year in Sept 2021 for the quote they said they'd send. My shower backs up often. I needed that to drain. Meanwhile, I am up to a thousand dollars and they did nothing for me. The first visit they insisted on running a camera through my pipes outside though I'd told them I just did that and the city passed the inspection. They came back, call two, and did the same thing refusing to go under the house to see what the problem was. Same thing on the third call, and finally after many complaints, they sent out the manager who was going to give me a quote. Nope, still waiting. Sept 2020 is when this all went down, and yet, NOPE, a wasted 1000.00 dollars and no answers. No one seemed interested to get under my house, just excuse after excuse, and then they'd leave with my money. I feel completely used.

I called them on a Saturday morning when our tenant, at a duplex we rent, contacted us about a leak in the ceiling late in the evening the night before. I left a message and a bit later received a call back from Barbara, who was very nice and stated she could not get anyone out there until Sunday, between 10-12. I was desperate and said ""Okay"". I was at the unit on Sunday, waited and waited. I called Barbara several times to discover she had her repair men somewhere else with an ""emergency water heater repair"" which, was surprising to me. That is what I had stated was happening at our unit we we first spoke over the phone - EMERGENCY! Apparently, not a priority to them? I even told her it was leaking thru ceiling at one leak per 18 seconds. It was serious and an emergency in every way possible. I was disappointed to discover this news after waiting for several HOURS & to only find out she had no idea when (or if) they'd be out to repair it. I was left with the impression - per her statement that there were also others waiting for a service calls after me! I was very concerned all they were going to do was come by - for a fee of $125, then there were the additional costs of the repair as well, and only inspect it - not repair it as it was late into the day & they had other calls to go to! As I said, I was desperate! I called Barbara and got no answer? I was becoming extremely stressed out - as was my tenant! Finally, she called me back and stated she had not heard from the service men? It was almost 4:00pm!!! I wasted an entire day waiting for nothing & it was a horrible feeling! I had a tenant who was also waiting for the leak in his apartment to be repaired - as I had reassured him it would be taken care of. It made me look bad! NOT A GOOD FEELING TO BE PUT IN!!!! I went online and discovered a company I had used before was actually open 24/7...I called them immediately and in a 100% panic! They (Action Plumbing) answered my call - no waiting! They took all my information and within 2 minutes a service man called me back. They were at my house by 4:20 pm!!!! I called Barbara back and told her I would no longer be needing their service after waiting ALL DAY LONG! I told her I had someone who actually responded and was on their way out. After being blown off all day, honestly, I did not even feel like I owed them that courtesy call - I just did not want to be charged $125 for them just showing up if they had ""actually"" ever showed up that evening. Barbara was polite. I will say the service men & owners put her in an awful position - none of it was her fault! I did not yell at her or get angry as I felt badly for her being left without answers for me or the others who were waiting. I did express my utter frustration after waiting all day that if they had just been honest with me they could not do the emergency call, I could've called someone else sooner and had it repaired in a timely manner. I will NEVER use them or recommend them to anyone. I will recommend Action Plumbing as they took action and got it done at a great price and NO extra fee of $125 to just show up!

I was given a window of 9am-11am. It's now 12:30 and the tech is just getting started. I also had an appointment with a specific tech that I requested and they sent out someone else. I was also quoted a price for my appointment but when tech came out, he tried to charge way more. Not a great experience.

I called and explained the problem to the woman in the office and they were able to get someone here the next business day which was fine. The guy came in and looked at the clogged drain pipe and said right away they don't really do overhead drains and that he didn't think he would be able to clear it because the snakes aren't really made to push up hill. We had tried our little 20"" snake but it wasn't long enough and we didn't have any problem pushing it in uphill. I got the distinct feeling he didn't want to do the job the minute he saw it and then he quoted me $550 and couldn't guarantee he could clear it. He didn't have any equipment with him but 2 snakes which makes me wonder why they don't carry an assortment of equipment to do any job they might encounter. At $550 I declined his offer. I went to the hardware store and bought a drain blaster which is a rubber bulb that screws on the end of a garden hose and we got it unplugged in about 15 minutes. They make different sizes of these blaster for each size pipe you have. Save yourself a lot of money and try the hardware store first. We still had to pay $150 for him showing up. I had called another place that quoted me $160 max to snake it and I would have called him back had the blaster not worked. Definitely call around and get some prices before you go with roto rooter. When did roto rooter get so expensive to snake a drain? What a rip off.

Terribly disappointed. Made an appointment and received a two hour arrival window with instructions that they would call a half hour out. At the end of the timeframe no plumber showed. Upon calling the office we were advised to call back 30 mins after the latest arrival time. Called back and still no one on the way. Communication is key and Roto-Rooter dropped the ball.
