Where do I begin? Look at the ratings and reviews of this business versus others and you really don't need to read much further.
I had Roto Rooter replace a hot water heater less than 2 years ago in a rental triplex. I paid a premium using Roto Rooter but knew that going in, and had expected quality work and that they would stand by their work. Neither has been the case. Upon installation one tenant told me she heard a loud bang as something (the new water heater) was dropped and then the installer shouted out ""Oh f_ _k"". The water hose connections were not installed tightly and have leaked profusely twice. A shutoff valve also wasn't installed so my new plumber had to shut off water to the entire building to work on it. The leaks have damaged electronics and the burner assembly. My tenants were actually without hot water for a week waiting on parts to be delivered. Finally the correct parts arrived and my plumber got it fixed. I then call up Roto Rooter to get reimbursed for the invoice and to have them install the proper shut off valve and make sure my 6 year tank warranty wasn't voided due to improper installation and water leakage. What was their response? They have a new owner that bought this franchise (Jim Patterson) 6 months after my installation was done and it only had a one year labor warranty to begin with, but Jim would call me back. I called again after waiting for his call. It's been a week and still no call. Do not waste your time or money with this business. Deal with professionals.

My waste lines were blocked and I needed someone to come out in the AM. Others I had called couldn't arrive until after 4PM. So I went with them. I used them when I had the same problem in 2017.
They did show up within 1/2 hour for which I was grateful. However, once they arrived I was told they only provide a flat rate service, $375.00 which was a 234.5% increase over the last time I used them (2017).
As an added service, the service man provided a camera service to help determine the problem. he did show up the next day and provided a camera service. I was told he would email me the video of the camera service and list several recommendations. None of which was received to this date.
Maybe the two services would be a bargain @ $375..........So, I would recommend you find a plumber that charges by the hour!

I called Roto-Rooter Christmas Eve when I found an inch of sewage in our Granny Unit shower and the toilets wouldn't flush. It is non occupied so I don't always go in, and the stench was horrific. I called 24/7 Roto-Rooter and was called back by the on-call person who kept talking to his family in the background while he talked to me. He told me the rates were $790.00 per hour with a 1 hour minimum and he couldn't come until after MN, (it was 10pm). We agreed he would call back (he never did) and Mr. Rooter, who was excellent came the next day. I will NEVER call Roto-Rooter again!!

My wife & I can't say enough good things about the 3 employees that did the work unclogging a toilet last week that had something stuck in it @ one of our rentals. These guys were great and went way beyond the call of duty. They got the job done, were polite and showed respect. It turned out to be a very challenging job and these guys never gave up. They gave it 110% and got the job done
Thank you very much to all of you

OUCH. I was gouged by Roto- Rooter this morning. My bathtub drain was (and still is) plugged up by small kitten toy balls. The technician Leo (very nice fellow) used a powered snake for 15 minutes. The balls could not be pushed further down the line with this method. So he called his boss who recommended sending 2 technicians out at $279.00 an hour EACH to go under the house and unplug the drain. I explained the floor is all slab, the boss offered to bring a jackhammer. That would be extra.
Well, I paid the $279.00 for no results. As it turns out, there is a snake attachment available that slices up such objects as toy balls. Once upon a time, Roto-Rooter has a sterling reputation for excellent service and fair pricing. Well, that reputation is in the toilet now.

DO NOT USE this company is price gouging. Their worker showed up with muddy boots and walked through my house leaving a trail of mud.
Secondly they wanted to charge $400 dollars to snake my sink. We said no thank you. I called the company and left a message and asked the ""mangers"" to call me back. I always give companies an opportunity to make good before I give them a bad yelp. No call, no offer to make things right. You get a bad yelp.
We found a plumber in town to do the same job for under $200.

I had Santa Rosa Roto-Rooter, owned by Jim Patterson (CSLB # 1001120) if their website is correct, out to a rental property in Petaluma about a month ago to clear a drain. They were able to do so, however, it clogged again a week ago. The technician arrived yesterday and charged $350 to ""clear the drain."" One day later and it's clogged again. I called them back this morning and was told a technician would be calling me within an hour. That didn't happen. I called again and they told me that I'd hear from the on call manager within 20 minutes. That never happened either. I called a third time and a technician called me back about 30 minutes later. He went to the house and said he'd have to charge me $375 to run a camera down the line to find the clog. I explained to him that we paid for the same service yesterday and he told me he couldn't get a hold of the guy who came yesterday so the only thing he could do is charge us again. I wish I were kidding. I told him to forget it of course.

The local Roto-Router Franchisee just sold the local franchise back to the parent corporation. Their prices have more than Doubled!!! A simple kitchen sewer line clearing is $375! It cost $150 six years ago and $175 a few months back. Use local Petaluma plumbers to avoid getting ripped off. Hopefully you can wait a day or two to get your pipes cleaned.

Service man was pleasant and qualified. He worked quickly and cleared the drain. Just not with that kind of $$$. Use local plumbers instead

July 2019. We used Romans plumbing and paid $175 for the same service. Much better service for way less with a certified plumber to boot.

Would give nothing if I could. Gave this place a chance despite the horrid reviews all over the place from many different sites. The woman I spoke to at the office, Shelley, is a doll. So sweet and would do anything to help. The workers however, the actual technicians?? TRASH. ""Marcos"" should find a different career if he's not going to actually do his job. Didn't call when he showed up to my house, even though I was readily waiting, put a ""quote"" on my door for some blue pipe?!? Mind, I've never spoken to or seen this excuse, he's quoting me $350 for some nonexistent pipe?? You'll have better luck going to Home Depot and doing it yourself. This place SUCKS.
