This company is full of crooks & is the most expensive rooter service ever. Charged me $499 to snake out a toilet, no joke. Stay clear of them. wanted $6000 to change out 8 ft. of cast iron sewer pipe in bathroom slab. Never call them for anything. Honest review.

If do use them do not pay by credit card because they overcharged me by $770, yes that's right $770. I had to call several times and pester them to refund the credit card. Finally after 14 days they sent me something by e-mail to say the charge was credited back. Hopefully it is.

I received the refund today. so I changed my rating.

The Root-Rooter guy said it would be $300 to get a camera down our drain to see where the problem was. He repeated this several times and then said the $300 would ""probably be waived"" if we signed up for the bigger repair job (which he refused to quote). So we had to guarantee we would agree to the bigger repair job (at an unknown price) to get the $300 fee waived. When I went to sign the paperwork for the simple drain job (we passed on the larger/unknown cost job) it says ""FREE MAINLINE VIDEO INSPECTION"" and he had checked off ""Declined."" So basically he tried to charge me $300 for something that comes with the pipe snake for free.

This is my second review of Roto Rooter. In my first review the tech was Mario who I rated 5 Stars for his skill, professional, knowlegable, and incredible service he rendered. I requested him several times after that. Mario transferred so today the tech was Daniel. I was not disappointed! Daniel arrived in the pouring rain(2/14/2019). ANOTHER FIVE STAR TECH!! Daniel was courteous, professional, and very very efficient. He explained everything he was doing as did Mario before him. I will definitely request Daniel every time when I have to call Roto Rooter. WTG, ROTO ROOTER!

Roto-Rooter sent their professionals to replace my apartment's ancient water heater, and they accomplished the task efficiently and with friendly service.

Appt. set for 10:30-12:30 Dude showed up 12:45, didn't have part (float valve) even though my original complaint was a running toilet. Said he'd be back in 10 minutes, took 35 (Valley Village to Van Nuys and back-10 minutes, really). Replacing part took less than 10 minutes but entire process took almost two hours. Having used RR for many years for me and my tenants this is the final straw. Next time, a plumber who actually carries parts in the truck.

Too expensive. They charged $380 for about 20 min of work. The only parts included were maybe $10 cost. The only people that should charge that much an hour are jobs that require a college degree. I'm sure I could have found someone just as good for a lot less.

We had a mainline backup of sewage into our home yesterday evening. We called Roto Rooter and they sent someone out from their Chatsworth office. He quoted us $950 for the first hour and $350 for each hour after that and couldn't tell us how long it would take. AND he needed to call his buddy to help him and who knew how long it would take for him to get here? Fortunately we have a plumber we trust and he gave us the # of an independent service. They came the next morning and in less than an hour and for under $400 they had the line cleared. So angry! Never again guys. We have used you for 30 years and you have lost us for good. The guy was a jerk. Karma dude. Don't try and take advantage of people in a desperate situation. The guys who did the job today restored my belief that there are honest and hard working people out there.

I had Chris and Noah fix a difficult shower hot and cold unit. Lots of tweaking and torching, etc. They were professional and worked so well as a team. Invoice number SF 102428. Thank you Chris and Noah! Hot shower tonight!

The toilet in the house we rent had a hissing noise coming from the tank, and there'd been an issue for a while with the shower/faucet switch lever in the shower, so on Monday morning at 8am we called our landlord who picked Roto Rooter and approved the work.

First off, we were told at 8.30am we would have a plumber within 2 to 3 hours at a max, when I had to call again at 1pm I was told within half an hour. The plumber showed up here right before 2. He said the job with the toilet was just a matter of switching out a little valve, really minuscule job. He knew all along he was doing the toilet and the shower, just so that's clear. He never told me when he was leaving, he never knocked at the door when he came back, but he was in the house for a grand total of 20 minutes in total, but didn't finish the work until almost 5pm. What he was doing in between, I have no idea but they charged my landlord almost $800.

I would never, ever recommend this service. The completed work seems fine, but between the time they took to arrive, the time spent actually working versus being gone, and the price, this is massively overinflated.
