SCAMMERS. Find someone else! NOT GOOD TO ELDERLY! DON'T HIRE!
Their employees are a bunch of crooks. My grandmother hired them to fix a leak (and only hired them b/c all other local plumbers were booked). My grandmother is hard of hearing and not really good with technology (this is important to the story). I'll try to keep things short. There was a leak in her bathroom, nothing super major but it was starting to soak the carpet a bit (it was a slow leak though). One guy showed up, looked at it and then several more men came and they stood around talking outside for quite a bit--idk what about (probably how to con this little old lady tbh). Anyways, when the guy explained things to her he'd never talk louder when asked or clearly/slower so she had a hard time understanding and he wouldn't let her read the contract. It was on a touch pad so she was having a bit of trouble with it and instead of helping her scroll through or whatever he'd just rush her to the end and scroll past everything. Whenever she'd ask about the price he'd brush her off, refuse to tell her and say don't worry about it your insurance will cover it (it didn't). So after a while he said that she's definitely got mold (she didn't) and they put these large, expensive, energy consuming heaters in this TINY, little bathroom (it's a super small bathroom with just a toilet, small shower and sink all in arm's length of each other) during a heatwave in the middle of the Californian summer.. They said they needed to dry it out before fixing the leak (idk how you plan to dry something while water continues to leak and soak what you're trying to dry.. seems kinda like an endless cycle--and it was). Even she questioned this and asked if leaving the fairly large, bathroom window open would work but, again, they brushed her off and she figured (imo, being too trusting) that they knew what they were doing. They set those up and left--it took like most the day for them to do all this (mostly b/c they just stood around forever). They told her they'd send guys out to check on it and they did a couple times at first but they'd never talk to her or give her any info. They'd just come look at the heater, check it was plugged in and leave. This slowed/stopped and she started to call constantly throughout the next couple of weeks asking them for updates and eventually to come and get these heaters, she didn't want to work with them anymore and was fed up with how long fixing one little leak was taking. They'd keep brushing her off, telling her to keep the heaters running and that they'll send someone out tomorrow--they never did, time and time again.
The only way this was ""resolved"" was my uncle eventually heard about this and came over and threw the heaters outside and called them up, angry at them (he's a big, intimidating guy). After he got after them they came and got their equipment. My uncle was also the one to fix the leak in the end and all it took was one new joint part on the pipe, a wall patch and about an hour or less of work (again he looked for mold and there was none--he works in construction and does handy man work for a living too so he knows what he's doing). Should note: She didn't ask my uncle to fix it to start with b/c she's very much someone who doesn't like to bother family to do stuff for free-knowing that my uncle wouldn't let her pay him for it--and he had just started a new fancy job so he was pretty busy himself.
About a month or so later they sent a bill to my grandmother trying to charge her $2500 for sending an excessive amount of men over to put in and run these ridiculous heaters (DURING A HEATWAVE--which had already shot up her electricity bill that month) for a couple weeks and never having even tried to fixed the leak--despite it being fixable in under an hour. They even claimed insurance paid her for the work when they absolutely didn't--the insurance even sent a letter saying they wouldn't cover it.. Now it's an entire ordeal.
Never work with them ever. Go to a small business. Even finding a YouTube video to fix it yourself would be better, easier and less stressful than dealing with these con artists.

Had water damage and black mold on living room wall gave these guys a call...
They sent out Jesus Gomez he did an outstanding job great clean work very professional and communicative
I'd recommend them anytime and would be happy to call them back for any future work thanks roto rooter and thank you Jesus Gomez

Our outdoor faucet busted and we weren't sure what the issue was. Being Memorial Day weekend it was hard to find someone to come out last minute. Roto-rooter was the only one available. They came out and said the pipe was busted and it would be a $600 repair plus $79 after hours charge. Fortunately I remembered my brother-in-law used to do plumbing. I told the roto-rooter plumber we wanted a second opinion and suddenly he was willing to drop the $79 after hours charge. My brother-in-law came by, showed me the faucet busted and that's all we needed. Needless to say I'm pissed. Never calling Roto-Rooter again.

What a joke!!! Scheduled last Friday for a hot water heater repair. Told them I needed someone there before 9. Nobody there at 9:30 so I rescheduled for today at 5. No call no show by 5:30 so I called in. I got cut off so I called back. They said they couldn't find the tech and they would call me back. No call by 7. I called in and they say they're sorry, but the tech got stuck on an emergency. Really??? No call no show for 2 hours? I could have called someone else by then. This place is a joke of a business!!!

Not very happy with the Modesto local franchise. They tried to over charge me for emergency service when their website clearly states they don't charge more for emergency services. They wanted $140 more to do the service on a Sunday. Well I found another local service that did the entire job for only $130 which is $285 less than the quote I got from RR.
False advertising, bait and switch whatever you want to call it but it is unethical and they shouldn't be endorsed by the Corporation.

Got a blockage in the main pipe over Labor Day weekend so I gave Roto-Rooter a call. They asked if the main cleanout was easy to get to and I said yes, it's right on the edge of the lawn. Quoted me at $490 without even knowing the issue. What a joke. Oh wait, he calls back because ""his supervisor"" told him he could do $350. Nope, you lost me as a customer with your first insult. Do yourself a favor and call Doherty's. Patrick is a nice, honest guy. He got the job done in 5 minutes and charged me hardly anything. Nice try, you crooks.

Nothing but great things about this place. Very professional and prompt. They send you text messages and emails and you can track the technician's location. We had an easy fix and they could've charged us an arm and a leg, but Brandon told us that it's a simple fix and wouldn't want us to pay $250 an hour for something we could get done ourselves. Now that's honesty and quality I'm looking for in any business. BRAVO!

This team is awesome. They come out in a timely manner and fix the problems fast. They don't try to scam the customer like I have seen from other plumbers. I have had Johnathan and Mauro come out on separate occasions and they have been professional and focused on helping the customer. Highly recommend.

The company has unprofessional plumbing staff that promise one thing and do another. I called them out to handle a major underground plumbing issue in two occupied apartments at my property. The plumbing issue was causing an issue for 6 other tenants. Initially, the service was adequate for the plumbing problem. However, upon continued involvement with the different plumbers and other staff they sent out without prior notification each day, I quickly learned how unorganized and unprofessional this company really is. The managers do not clearly communicate to their staff nor do they keep the client informed. As a property manager, I have tenants that need to be kept in the loop when dealing with such a large problem. Roto Rooter claims to be a pro at handling rental property issues and assured me that communication is what they do. So, I gave them a day or two each time I called. However, after numerous attempts to get an update, I was treated poorly and ignored every step of the way. Additionally, they over charged for everything they did which was not much. The issue was so big that we had to get our insurance involved and Roto Rooter did not make that easy either. Instead, they continuously gave me and the insurance claims adjuster the run around. I will never use them again!

This was our company's first service call to Roto-Rooter and the experience was excellent! From the initial call to the friendly office staff to the finalization of the job, the customer service level is top-notch! The office staff kept me informed of the technician's arrival. Devin Samoneck was our technician. He was prompt, courteous and very knowledgeable. He was able to clean out our drain problem in our shop, handled the problem efficiently and fully explained their 30-day service warranty. What I liked best is the company's use of technology and I was able to pay immediately with a receipt provided via email. Devin clearly showed his knowledge and professionalism. Well Done Roto-Rooter! Highly recommend.
