Carlos came out at the end of the day when they could have just postponed until the next day. He quickly found the source of our kitchen sink clog and fix it within minutes by snaking the drain. He also made worthy suggestions to flush tge pipes on another service...no pressure sales. Good dude.

WATCH OUT!! I had a clogged shower drain which seemed like an easy fix. Next thing I know the person doing the plumbing work had his supervisor come out and tell me I needed to have my water lines changed all the way out to the street and it would be $20,000!! I asked around town and found a locally respected place that fixed everything and it was NOWHERE NEAR that price. Get a second quote before letting these guys rip you off!

Same bait and switch experience as others mentioned. A 15 minute draining clearing job will run about $300. Save yourself the money and buy a snake. It's easy enough to do it yourself.

We had major work done on our water and sewer systems. Yair and Orlando worked long and hard, digging trenches and connecting pipe. Carlos was a genial and competent project leader. The work was expensive, but then most plumbing is. To make up for the sting of the final cost, Rooter Solutions has employees that make you feel good about the project because they are constantly checking in with you so you feel you're part of the process.

I used to know and trust the owner of Rooter Solutions before he expanded his service team significantly. The last two times I called Rooter Solutions for service estimates, I was extremely disappointed as the quotes were inflated 2 to 2.5 times those of other plumbers. Two of this company's estimators are basically gouging their customers if they can get away with it. I have tried to contact the owner a couple of times by leaving messages with his office staff, with the hope of being able to report to him the misbehavior and dishonesty of his estimators. To my disappointment, the owner has yet to return my calls. A company is only as good as its frontline staff who deal directly with the customers on a day-to-day basis. And in Rooter Solutions' case, the estimators represent their company poorly. As a result Rooter Solutions will no longer have my business. So readers of this review beware...

I am writing with the hope that my information will spare others a very unsatisfying experience with Rooter Solutions.

I have a sewer line which occasionally requires rooter routing, nominally at cost of $100 - $150. Last week I was lured by a Rooter Solutions (RS) advertisement to perform routing for a cost of $55. Within minutes, the agent started telling me that there were big problems with the sewer and that he was concerned about doing further damage to the pipe and/or his equipment. He then said he would do a camera inspection at no extra charge. (I feel that the camera inspection was inappropriate and of no value since nothing could be seen due to sewage in the line.)

The agent proceeded to give me an estimate of $3400 to fix the ""problem."" I am very embarrassed to admit that I did not immediately send the agent and his assistant on their way and return to a trusted plumber. I can only rationalize my lapse in judgment by the fact that I was suffering from a medical condition which an hour later Cottage Hospital ER diagnosed as blood clot in my leg. Never-the-less, I am embarrassed to such an extent that I initially could not bring myself to make public my experience.

Once the work began, two men in two hours had exposed the clogged pipe (which I believe could have been easily cleared without digging up - as had been done in the past by honest plumbers). They returned a few days later for approximately 1 hour to install a new pipe. This represented a total repair time of approximately 6 man-hours.

In retrospect, I can clearly see now that the sales pitch leading to the $3400 was an exceptionally well-structured, well-rehearsed, and well delivered con-artist presentation. I fell for it! The pitch was so superbly practiced and executed that there is little doubt in my mind that others have suffered the same fate with Rooter Solutions.

When presented with the bill for $3400, I spoke with the RS Division Manager and requested that he review the situation and adjust the bill appropriately. After doing so, he provided a ""discount"" of $1000, reducing the bill to $2400. Although at first blush this might appear as a reasonable offer, one must place this in context:
* The total man-hours on site was approximately 11 (6 for the pipe replacement, plus 4 for the con-artist sales presentation, plus an additional unrequested hour by the Division Manager to run a camera down the sewer). Thus at $2400, this amounts to $218 / man-hour (or $400 / man-hour for the 6 hr pipe replacement), minus some minor cost for the pipe material.
* Perhaps even more disturbing, I believe that there is nothing to suggest that the sewer could not have been successfully routed out by honest plumbers as in the past at a cost of $100 - $150.

Anyone considering using Rooter Solutions should be advised of this experience as well as the large number of very similar experiences reported on yelp (particularly under the website supplement ""other reviews that are not currently recommended,"" which appears at the end of the review listing).

Out of desperation, we called another company when our kitchen sinks backed up and Rooter Solutions was all booked up for the day. Well, the technician from the other company was not able to clear the clog as their snake was too short ( ~38 feet) nor had a camera. This other company quoted us $850+ to come back the next day with more equipment and clear the clog. No thank you.

We called Rooter Solutions and were able to get someone out that afternoon. Miguel C. came and was able to get the drains cleared out. He snaked the drain about 70 feet to unclog it and checked to flow in only about 30 minutes, bringing all necessary supplies. Miguel C. even laid out a mat underneath his work area--keeping everything clean and dry ( something which the other company failed to do, making a mess) and he tidied up afterwards (with his own Simple Green!). I was really impressed with the professionalism of Rooter Solutions with how smoothly everything went and came prepared to do the job.

An efficient, reliable, and affordable plumbing service is hard to find, but Rooter Solutions is just that!
