Rooter-Man was launched in 1970 by our CEO, Donald MacDonald in North Billerica, MA. Through dedication, integrity, and a commitment to solving the issues faced by our customers, Rooter-Man grew to become a leading plumbing, sewer, and drain cleaning companies across the Northeastern U.S.. In 1981, Rooter-Man began franchising, choosing only the finest professionals in the plumbing and sewer sectors to work under the Rooter-Man name. As a result of our success, Rooter-Man now boasts over 480 locations throughout the United States and Canada and has received accolades the top franchise opportunity in the Plumbing, Sewer, and Drain Cleaning Category according to Entrepreneur Magazine for the last ten years during the years 2003-2012. Every Rooter-Man franchise is locally owned and managed.

In 2003, my wife and I decided to purchase a pre-existing Rooter-Man franchise. With our last savings along with our three daughters, we made the leap. My wife was apprehensive, yet I remained confident, with my background in the sewer and drain cleaning industry. Our growth was gradual and added to our territory and team to build a team we cherish. Through our efforts, our daughters, and learning from mistakes, we keep growing. In recent years, we have tapped into the knowledge of fellow franchise owners; it has been fulfilling to engage with this vast community eager to share their experiences. We feel grateful for the chance to serve our community as we develop our business and nurture our children.
