Rooter-Man was launched in 1970 by our CEO, Donald MacDonald in North Billerica, MA. Through dedication, integrity, and a commitment to solving plumbing and drain cleaning challenges, Rooter-Man grew to become a leading plumbing, sewer, and drain cleaning companies throughout the Northeast U.S.. In the year 1981, Rooter-Man began franchising, choosing only the finest professionals in the plumbing and sewer sectors to operate under our brand. Due to significant growth, we now have a network of more than 480 locations throughout the United States and Canada and has received accolades as the #1 Franchise Opportunity in the plumbing and drain cleaning category according to Entrepreneur Magazine for the past decade between 2003 and 2012. Each Rooter-Man location is independently owned and operated.

In 2003, my spouse and I decided to purchase to acquire an existing Rooter-Man franchise. With the last of our funds along with our three daughters, we made the leap. Brenda was nervous, while I felt certain, with my background in the field of sewer and drain cleaning. We grew steadily and expanded our territory and personnel to create a team we are proud of. Through our efforts, our daughters, and learning from mistakes, we persist in our growth. Throughout the years, we have learned from the insights of other franchise owners; it has been fulfilling to be part of such a supportive community willing to share their expertise. We feel grateful the privilege of serving the public as we develop our business and nurture our children.
