The year 1970 saw the inception of Rooter-Man, thanks to CEO Donald MacDonald in North Billerica, Massachusetts. With hard work, honesty, and a drive to tackle plumbing and drain cleaning issues, Rooter-Man became a leading plumbing, sewer, and drain cleaning company in the Northeastern U.S. The franchising journey for Rooter-Man started in 1981, selecting only the finest talent in plumbing, sewer, and drain cleaning to operate under the Rooter-Man name and service guidelines. As a result of outstanding growth, Rooter-Man has developed a network of over 480 locations in the United States and Canada. For the past decade, Entrepreneur Magazine has recognized Rooter-Man as the top franchise opportunity in the Plumbing, Sewer, and Drain Cleaning Category (2003-2012). All Rooter-Man franchises are locally owned and function independently. In 2003, my wife and I seized the chance to acquire an existing Rooter-Man franchise. We invested our remaining savings and brought along our three young girls. Brenda was nervous, but my years of experience in sewer and drain cleaning gave me confidence. Our growth was gradual as we expanded our territory and staff, forming a team that feels like family. Through our efforts, our daughters, and learning from mistakes, we continue to evolve. Over the years, we have gained insights from fellow franchise owners; it has been fulfilling to be part of such a supportive community. We appreciate the chance to serve our community and grow our business while raising our children.
