TLDR: If you are looking for reliable and quality plumbing service, I advise going elsewhere.
We had a plumbing emergency that needed same-day service to restore water to our home. We should have known that we would be taken for a ride when the proposed plumbing solutions were temporary shortcuts--intended to get the water running but not fix the larger problem. We asked our technician to complete a more expensive, labor-intensive option in order to ensure that the problem would not happen again. They hesitantly agreed, but when we checked on their progress several hours later, their work did not resemble what we had discussed. (This would have been less egregious if the technician did not take 2 hours to purchase the required parts and did not take a break to chat with their friends/colleagues who had randomly shown up at our house.) After pointing out the flaws with the work-in-progress, the technician proposed to return the following day to complete what he had originally been asked to do -- albeit at a higher cost. Already in too deep, we stupidly agreed.
The finished work was, for the most part, acceptable. However, we noticed a small leak where the old and new copper pipes had been joined. We called the office to report the issue, which should have been covered under the labor and parts warranty. Several days later, the same technician arrived to fix the leak but was unable to do so and made the leak worse. What had been a slight trickle became a steady stream of water flowing out of a copper coupling. We were presented with two options to remedy this cascading problem: agree to a short-term solution using a push-to-fit coupling (covered by warranty) or pay for additional plumbing work to properly connect/solder the copper pipes (not covered by warranty). When asked why the latter option was not covered by warranty, the technician suggested that it was an undisclosed problem with the old piping that caused the coupling to leak and that they were not responsible for the improper connection between old and new pipes. (If that were the case, why did they attempt to re-solder the coupling at no charge in the first place? Why was that included in the previous visit's work without an extra charge?) As before, it seemed like we were being asked to pay for the technician's inexperience and mistakes. To have our leak ""fixed"" under warranty, we were forced to accept an inferior solution, which the technician admitted would likely last only a few years.
Would I recommend Rooter Hero? No. Look for other plumbing companies who stand behind their work without taking shortcuts and asking for more money when self-made problems arise.

Thank you, Favian, for your quick, professional, and friendly service, regarding my plumbing issue. I can feel confident returning to, ""Rooter Hero Plumbing and Air"", and recommending you to my friends, family, and followers. Especially, if your team of technicians, is like you. Thanks again!

Horrible service, expensive. Billed for additional labor that is included with a part installation. Allowed opportunity to correct improper repairs, left our home with very lower water pressure, failed to correct. Had to hire another plumber who corrected their mistakes. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for competent plumbing repairs.

Called and got same day appointment. Noah arrived and was very professional and honest in his assessment. After Noah took care of the job, he helped clean up. Great job and would hire again, if needed.

The plumber came out and could not unclog my drain with the snake, they said it would cost $1600 to get a flush. Paid $300+. Called a different plumber and he charged $85 and successfully unclogged the drain with the snake. Be cautious when using this company. They get you with the gimmick low price but you will end up paying more than necessary.

Called and someone came out to unclog sink in kitchen and plumber caused a bigger mess than how we started out. Called company back and sent another person to clean up after the first plumber and tried to rectify the issue. Will not use this company again. Just not a good experience.

Buyer beware. Rooter Hero is a referral service to independent local plumbers. They offer low priced basic service online, but the referral is to a local plumber whose goal is to bait and switch you to more expensive service. Be prepared for a hard-sell sales pitch for services that are far more than you need. In my case, the plumber tried to sell me expensive hydro-jet services. I refused again and again and he finally relented in using his rooter to clear the drain through the shower, which was a simple job. But within the warranty period the drain clogged again, probably because he didnt continue to snake out the line. When I called Rooter Hero they sent the same plumber again, but he stated that he would not honor the warranty ""because I had not paid enough money"". He was standing in the shower, could have done it in 5 minutes and simply refused to perform ANY work. Rooter Hero promised to refer the issue to their ""local office"", but I never received a call back despite multiple calls. Rooter Hero is merely a marketing front for local independent plumbers so the quality of your service depends on the local guy, so this is probably hit and miss. If you live in Palos Verdes, you will likely get very poor service or quotes for unnecessary work.

Very professional on the phone. Excellent information about availability and arrival time. Professional, clean plumber. Use booties, which I appreciated. Offered $77 to clear it (or try) but here is what they did:
This was a clogged kitchen sink with soft food. He used a very thin (about the gauge of a pencil) snake and a hand drill, both available from Home Depot. It didn't work. Just poked a hole in the clog and then it closed up. So, he then said it would need to be hydrojet and it would be $500. I was desperate and said OK. He then said that he couldn't hydrojet in my particular house (which was legitimate) and that the only choice was to open up the walls and create a cleanout. I was looking at $2000. This was for soft food in a sink. I was despondent. There had to be a better way.
And there was.
Thankfully, I tried another plumber and he laughed when I told him the story of RH. He came in with a large machine the size of a vacuum cleaner with a snake as thick as a paper towel tube. He said if I don't get it cleared, I'll do it again and it will work. Well it worked the first time, no problem. With a real industrial snake you're fine.

Bad company. I called first they lost my appointment twice. thereby delaying my service by two days. I called on Thursday for same day, they confirmed then no one showed up. I called the next day they and confirmed again just to let me know later it wasn't likely. when the tech finally arrived on Saturday, he came in looked around, stated my toilet was one of those ""new toilets "" and unless he had exterior access he couldn't help. mind you this was a toilet paper jam. he stated he could possible go through the crawl space but unlikely what he was looking for was down there. After several min of walking around my property asking all sorts of questions about everything but my toilet He finally stated that the only way was to go on the roof of this very tall two story home and essentially add a new pipe down to my first floor bathroom!!! I reminded him it was only toilet paper clog to which he said in that case rather than shell out thousands of dollars I should wait for it to dissolve. This of course was very alarming to me - the thought that I would need to make structural changes for a minor clog- I elected to wait. After a couple for days with no luck using diy methods found online I called another plumber Rooterman plumbing. They were very professional, got the booking done in one go. Came right on time. The tech Sammy was professional and efficient-he simply used and auger and used a cable snake I think is what he mentioned- but either way he was in and out in 15 min. And it was only $125. I'm so glad I didn't take rooter hero NOT SO PROFESSIONAL OPINION at all. They were horrible!!!

We called for help with a water heater leak and they were very responsive and did a great job. Their price was very fair and their representative was not only professional but very courteous. I highly recommend their company.
