Horrible service! Have a business and the sewer was backed up. They kept saying they were coming and coming then running late. They ended up calling me at 11pm saying they were on the way. Ughhhhh I called at 9am! Ridiculous. Never will I use or call them again.

I had a gas leak that I needed urgently repaired (probably the case for all gas leaks...). Rooter Hero came out quickly to give an estimate, but as many of the reviews have indicated, the supervisor had to call me back with the repair quote. It was TWELVE HUNDRED DOLLARS - they said the entire pipe system needed to be replaced.

I got a second estimate from 5 Star Plumbing (Alex was great!) and learned that Rooter Hero hadn't even tested the lines properly to know where the leaks were. Their quote - $1500 to repair to joints and they had the work done 3 hours later.

Be very wary of Rooter Hero!!!

Let me start by saying that I have never left a negative review on yelp, but this is WORST company you could ever call for services!! What started out as a snake job in our front sewer lateral turned into a bigger job as the sewer lateral needed to be replaced right away since our original clay pipes had been damaged by roots. Unfortunately, after signing the contract with this company and they were quick to get the city permit and start the work right away we had a couple of our contractor friends who heard about our situation contact us and they were very saddened along with one of my neighbors who is a contractor to hear that this company charged us $41,000 for a job that we should've paid Max 25,000 for. I can understand companies overcharging but when I showed our contractor friends the itemized receipt they charged us $12,000 alone for the pipe which our contractor friend told us about $1500. We are beyond upset that for the first time we did not use our regular plumbers and decided to go with a company that could do the job faster we were taken advantage of and it was a big mistake on our part. But I wanted to make sure to leave this review so that anybody in the future decides to use these people know that they are, not a trustworthy company to work with so steer clear!!

Dispatched quickly for broken water heater. Technicians were not knowledgeable. Then told us they needed to check beneath our house for leaks. Found several leaks and quoted us $21k for entire repiping and $3500 for water heater (plus we'd have to buy a new water heater for them to install). Had 2 other plumbers come out, each quoted less than $3k for water heater replacement (including water heater). Neither found any leaks. They did find a water bottle with water under the house and noted the leaking ""pipes"" they showed us photos of were gas lines. SCAM! stay away. Check Better Business Bureau and news, they are fraudsters and quote for unneeded work.

Terrible!

Guy showed up late, didn'r even apologize for arriving hours later than expected, was rude, was unprofessional, (tried) charging more than the $77 previously agreed upon price.

We will never use Rooter Hero Plumbing Bay Area East again!

Their web site said 'Get Your Free Price Estimate Today - If you live in Escondido and have been rummaging through web results for ""leak detection near me,"" then look no further'. Well that 'free' service cost $980. They did find after 5 min that the lead was from the A/C system not the slab but rather than doing the fair thing and charging me for an A/C inspection they ripped me off. Also they actually never did do a thorough leak inspection of the house. There are definitely better and more equitable plumbers available. Finally the actual repair to the A/C system, by a different vendor, cost $500 or half their price for the inspection. There are similar reviews here about their price gouging - believe them.

my mother is frail and age 86 and constantly uses her toilet. last night she used lots of toilet paper and clogged the toilet and called me her adult son in a panic -- i thought ""Roto Rooter"" and found this creepy nationwide ""Rooter hero"" who quoted ""a $77 special"" that turned out to be THREE TIMES MORE-- more than $200 for a clogged up toilet drain. my little age 86 said GO HOME. And the local plumber cleaned up the clog asap and left a little waste basket for TP so no more clogged up toilet. STAY AWAY AND BEWARE. you have been WARNED!

The young man arrived 20min late outside the window, and he did not have the correct snake to clear the shower drain? This seems the most basic job. There was no sitting water in the tub. He dismantled the shower drains and left them in the middle of the shower. He said I could call again and ask him to come back the following day with the ""correct snake"" if I wanted? He did not charge me, but there was no confirmation email to respond to and follow up from Rooter Hero. I had to call Roto Rooter the next day to fix it, and they put everything back together, sealed it, and cleared the drain with a very basic snake. Roto Rooter explained that if we had run water and it had gotten through the top drain hole that Rooter Hero dismantled, it could have flooded my walls.

No Hero here. Be careful with these guys. I booked an appointment in the morning. The person booking the appointment by 1:00. When I talked to the dispatcher it changed to 2:00 to 4:00 Pm. The technician did not show up by 4:00. I called and they said they only had one technician. I pointed out that if they not being properly staffed is not my problem. If they couldn't deliver the on the time frame due to lack of staffing they should not have taken the business. But they did, assuming we would wait all day and into the evening. The dispatcher Rudy hung up on me. No manager to talk to about it. This is not a professional run company. Be careful. Bait and switch.

I had a backed up kitchen drain, but there wasn't an outside access to do the job so it had to be done under the sink in the sort of berating me for not having one he did the job it lasted about two days and then it backed up again, and I had to Get a new service because I didn't want them back in my home
