Called the company due to a drain back up and asked for a camera. The plumber came and the issue seemed to have resolved itself. I asked to have them camera the line. $250. Then the ""supervisor"" came with the camera. The camera showed the line still had a clog. He said the cast iron pipe had a leak. I looked with a flashlight and the water wasn't coming from the pipe. It was a toilet seal issue. He then quoted $1200 for a hydro jet which should cost $500-$600. He also quoted $2,800 to put in a clean out to make snaking easier. Supervisor = con man. I said thank you. I called LA Hydrojet and they are coming for $600. Beware if you don't know what plumbing should costs. By the way - this company advertises a hydro jet for $159 on their website.

Had a sewer main clogged today. I know that some plant roots penetrate my sewer line around where the clay pipes start. Unfortunately, my regular plumber wasn't available to come and unclog it at that time. Trying to avoid big discomfort to my tenants, I got on Google and searched sewer problems. The first ad that popped up, was for Rooter Guard. Wanting to solve the problem ASAP, I called them. Explained them the problem and ask for plumber to be dispatched promptly. Office people sounded professional enough. Few minutes later I had a call stating that the technician will arrive in 60 to 90 minutes. To make a long story short, the ""technician"" arrived. I explained him the problem and he started the process, after telling me the standard fee for apartment buildings is $289. I agreed to pay. So I watched him run his rooter machine. Judging by the way he worked, he wasn't a professional. After half an hour of running the machine mostly the snake movement engaging lever in neutral position, he told me the clog can't be opened, and tried to convince me my sewer line is collapsed. At that point, I had no more use for him and since he couldn't open the line I asked him if he expected a payment from me. To which he answered no.
I called another plumber while he was collecting his equipment. The new plumber arrived within 40 minutes and unclogged the line in 5.
I would not recommend this company for any job bigger than unclogging a kitchen sink drain...

Negligence at its finest. After responding to 2 sewer leaks on my property, the company decided they don't think we need remediation. However, according to the city and other plumbers who have seen the damage, I was assured remediation is imperative.

Rooter guard does not care about health codes and polluted and unsafe soil. Stay away from this horrible company

Hello everyone,
I called rooter guard because of the 60 dollar promotion and when they came to my house they informed me that the promotion is to unclog my drain and if it didn't work then I would not get charged. It turned out that it didn't work so I wasn't charged for the service, however, that only meant that the problem was alot serious and it was. Paying for a camera to look for the issue was totally worth it because it turn out that the main pipe drainage was broken causing back up in my house. They were straight foward about pricing and what my options were. They served quality service with proof of images and helped me fix another small pipe related issue at no additional cost. It was a big project but their work is guaranteed. Andres and Emillio provided great customer services and had a great team fix the issue within hours and finished fixing the yard the next day. I am thankful and satisfied with the quality and service I received. Here are some of the images of the before and after their service.

This is a classic bait and switch operation. They advertise ""$59.00 or free"" to unclog a kitchen sink. When the serviceman comes he glances at the sink and says, ""This will cost ""150.00."" I replied, ""What about the $59.00 quoted on your website."" ""Oh, that's only if you have an outside clean out."" ""But your website says nothing about an outside clean out,"" I responded.

We then went to his website and he couldn't find any mention of an outside clean out. He then called his boss, ""Mike,"" who said that the website doesn't mention that exclusion, but it does say (in extremely fine print that's greyed out) call for disclaimers and then they would tell you about outside clean outs! And mind you, the website has numerous pages touting the $59.00 price and only the tiny greyed out print says to call the office for disclaimers.

Called & requested service for the $60 sale price.

Once the technician gets here, I get told some bullshit about not having the right connection outside & that it will actually be $250 because they have to go through the shower cover.

Not a single disclosure on the ad, or when calling to make the appointment. Only when the technician was standing in my house was I told that the price would be different. Literally not a single disclosure anywhere that it could potentially cost me an extra $190.

Spoke to a manager and he said ""there should be something on the website about the price difference"" but there literally isn't. Also says it should've been $159 instead of the $250 the technician said it would be. So within the span of an hour I got 3 entirely different estimates.

Charging several hundred dollars more because they have to unscrew the shower cover, instead of being able to go through the main line is ridiculous enough.

Super shady tactic. Wouldn't trust this company after this brief experience with them, including their management.

Rooter Guard, Inc., served us very well. Lead technician Vick and his assistant, Elias, are competent and totally work-oriented. The main water line to our property serves five dwelling units. It was at least 50 years old and had sprung leaks throughout its length of about 400 feet. It apparently was bare galvanized steel since I could not see any kind of protection when the line was exposed. It was a big job, taking several days to excavate --- mostly by hand due to the site configuration. They removed and replaced the old line with schedule 80 copper. The bulk of our cost was the material. Copper is no longer cheap! When they completed the job and restored the area, it looked practically undisturbed. Vick provided me with a map showing both the location as well as depth below surface. Month later, my wife thought that we had a leak in one spot. The next day, Vick and Elias were there, digging up the location and showing me that the surface water was merely accumulation (in a low spot) from our torrential rains (February, 2023). The job was expensive, but still less than what some of the other companies that I contacted quoted. And the low-ball prices I got from others smelled. I felt something was fishy with them. The project did require financing for us. Rooter Guard handled that, as well. This is an excellent company with which to do business. In particular, Vick and Elias deserve recognition. I did tip them: One dollar, each. Am I cheap? Depends on your perspective. The dollars were 1880's era Morgan Silver Dollars in near new condition.
