River City Plumbing seemed like a great business several years ago when I first starting using them. However, I ended up having a lot of what they did redone because their work was so poor. Also, their billing got increasingly unfair. For example, they said they had nothing else going on and could send a guy the same day. They then billed $1400 for an emergency call. As another example, they tried to bill me for far more hours than their guys were actually at my place and working. Don't use this company!
Bernard B.I had a leak under my sink. I called a few other places but they were weeks out. These guys sent me a plumber THE SAME DAY! It only took 5 minutes to fix!
Now, they quoted me a free estimate on the phone. But I take responsibility for not confirming that with the plumber when he arrived at my house. I should've said, ""hey, this is for a free quote, right?"" But I didn't. And then the guy fixed the problem. So I didn't mind paying the $200 fee. It was fast and professional and worth it!
I had a leak under my kitchen sink. I decided to call a plumber as I'm a FOP and probably not be able to get up from the floor even if I did fix it.
My first call was to a firm that explained they were several weeks out. They had very high prices; big $ to come out & more to fix it.
My second call was to River City Plumbing that said they could have a guy, AT NO CHARGE, come out tomorrow & give me a quote to fix it. He would not fix it them but, if I agreed to the price, would set an appointment to fix it. I ask several times about the NO CHARGE QUOTE. No problem. Sounded good.
He arrived on time and it 5 minutes fixed it. A dirty house or something. He than told me the charge was $205. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE NO CHARGE QUOTE? He explained they were a union shop & charged more than other shops. WHY DIDN'T THE GIRL ON THE PHONE TELL ME THAT?
I ask him about replacing a water heater as I had to do that in my last house. The price was almost twice what I paid.
I'm on a fixed income & feel that I got ripped off!!! BEWARE OF River City Plumbing!!!
Danielle F.They didn't pull permits for our commercial alteration they performed (major plumbing, concrete dug up, etc...) when we initially told them during their bid that all that matters is getting permitted through the health department for our food facility. They assured us that would be no problem and they were the guys for our project!
They gave us a quote, we paid half for deposit and they started tearing up our concrete. 2nd day on the job, they come and try to tell us we owe them $3800 more or else they're going to pull their guys off our job. That was just the first issue. We pushed back and their workers actually threatened to quit working for them and come back on their own time to help us. They dropped it and said they'd finish the job for the initial price promised. Project took 1.5 weeks longer than told (was told the job would take 2-3 days and it took 2 weeks). Once it was done, they left a bunch of cleanup we took care of even though cleanup and repainting was included in the price and bid we received (contract). Okay, just glad to be done with it. Fast forward... 2 weeks after their job was completed... found out they never pulled ANY permits whatsoever for our job. We now have a $6k plumbing job we cannot even use. They are also not licensed to do half the stuff they did in our commercial unit.
They have now ghosted us and have not responded to any of our messages since August 15th 2022. We've called the main office multiple times and left messages with Patty. Douglas has been avoiding our calls (this is the man who was said to be working on the permit). He finally drew up some ""plans"" that were like a child drew them (definitely not acceptable for the permitting desk with the City of Sparks). Josh hasn't been any help either. This business has now cost us thousands and thousands in just down time with our business. We've had to hire a general contractor to get this job permitted and finished correctly, which has cost us thousands more.
This is our personal experience with this plumbing company and everything that has been said is true and factual. They have tried to lie and say they didn't do work for us on a google review.
Linda H.The installers came to put in my new sump pump and they were top notch. Very friendly and informative guys. Made the install look easy. I am all set , so bring on the water!
About a year ago I paid about a $1000 to have 2 host bibs replaced. They (RCP) recommended a frost free version to help against freezing. It seems that was not successful. Since I have another leak in the same area from a frozen pipe. Now I have to look at getting it repaired again.
Our storm drain runs under the driveway and had become hopelessly clogged causing rain and melt water to pour over the gutter when water backed up.
Bill Russel came out to look at the problem and said he was sure they could clean it out.
A few days later, two techs arrived, explained what they were going to do, got to work and had the drain running clean in less than an hour. As you can imagine, a lot of debris came out of the drain. The guys cleaned everything up to where you never would have known they were ever there.
Very happy with the service.
Karen G.We had a complete sewer line redo after RCP showed me the video camera of the failing system which had caused a flooding in the basement family room and downstairs storage room, bathroom, laundry. Once we did the go ahead, workers were in for over three weeks. Each and everyone of the crew were effecient, polite, and did superior work. We had to have tiling redo, drywall, and of course the sewer line redone from the basement to the main city line. This meant a trench 10 feet deep outside, and extensive work to redo inside. While we were at it, we decided to change out the old water heater to a new tankless system. Commendable was the attention to detail, check ups on progress by the owner, Mike, and ways to save me some money. I have since recommended this very fine group to several people to keep their names and numbers in their contacts for any future needs. I have nothing but good to say about each and every one of them! Thank you for turning a horrific time to one of satisfaction and assurance.
I can not warn enough about this company, I got a call from them when I answerEd the guy hung up on me I called them back the guy played dumb I asked if they were coming to do my estimate the guy was going to call his plumber and I called them back no answer shameful business attitude I will tell anyone that will listen this company is not worth your time
RCP to the rescue! Our hot water heater finally took its last breath on Saturday and Mike and his squad were at our house Monday morning at 8am sharp. Their communication and professionalism are unmatched and the service was incredible. We chose a tankless water heater to add some value to our home and while it's a big purchase, Mike made in much more palatable with his explanation of the service and timeliness during a stressful time. Oh and they completed the job in one day. You get what you pay for people. Look at this work! Thanks RCP.
