Sue A.Our A/C unit went out at 9:30 pm so I went searching for a 24 hour repair on the internet. Rite Way showed up as giving 24 hour service so we called. Found out there is no one available....so apparently the whole 24 hour service thing is a bait and switch. They will be happy to come tomorrow during working hours but not tonight. Beware!!
I had an A/C unit that stopped working and the issue seemed to be electrical in nature. A very nice technician named Mike came to the house and did a great job explaining his efforts and ultimate did fix my problem.
The low rating is because of the pricing structure that Riteway used. 77.00 for a diagnostics. Expensive but okay. Mike then replaced a single board fuse (a 10 part) and charged me 130 dollars. Then Mike suggested replacing the blower motor capacitor, which he cited for 120 dollars. I turned this down because I had already located the capacitor on Amazon for 10.50.
Mike then indicated that within a short time, my furnace blower motor could fail, and he quoted me 1,100.00 dollars, but I found the OEM motor online for 200 dollars so there is 900 dollars of markup and labor. I have had the same motor replaced on a sister unit within the last two years and it only takes the technician 45 minutes to change the motor out, so this markup and labor is insanely high. (Previous motor total replacement cost was 390 dollars.
The upshot is that Riteway offered great service to our household but they are obviously putting the squeeze on their customers rather than taking care of them.
We scheduled an appt two weeks ago friday the thirteen so my husband could get day off. He called them that morning rite way said they would be there after one.
after one we got a call saying they would have to reschedule because couple of techs called in sick!!! Why didnt they tell us that earlier.? We told them no we had already made arrangements to stay home that day . so unprofessional. We will call somebody else.
Karen L.So this was the first company I looked up on Google to come out and help me with my plumbing and my AC issue. I had rite way probably come out I think 3x. First time for Inspection estimate. And then I had them come out twice for my plumbing issues. Christopher Williamson was my AC guy. Then Vincent villa Was my plumbing guy that came out twice. They both did a really phenomenal job. They were very thorough and helpful. Vincent help replace some plumbing and re-seat the toilet. Also point out some issues that could be an issue in the future to look out for. And he also installed a little tub thing for the water heater in case it ever leaked. He also did check for leaks on the water heater and was super thorough. I would hundred percent recommend rite way. They have always been super professional, super kind and helpful for my needs. and they are very thorough and upfront with their pricing too.
I receive estimates to installed AC systems package and they are definitely taken advantage of the summer demand by increasing prices. I had a Rite-Way salesman rep. come to my house to give me a estimate to replace my 13 year old AC unit. I receive estimate for one speed Trane XL 14.5 seer with 10 year parts and labor asking $15,323.00. Another estimate for two speed Trane 16 seer for $17,602. I received from few other AC company's estimates $3,200 to $4,000 less for the same Units. Make sure you get at least four estimates from reliable AC companies before making a decision on purchase. Rite-Way is very expensive company to receive AC estimates compare to other lower estimates I received. Please do your homework.
Alyson R.Long story short: Rite Way is a dishonest company that has been dodging my simple requests for months and refuses to show me the video they supposedly took of my sewer line. I am having all kinds of drainage problems and I am concerned Rite Way damaged something while they were here and are afraid to tell me. Charges $2000 for a service that everyone says should run about $500, and won't even show you the video evidence they claim is included.
Full story: I was supposed to have All Pro camera my sewer line as part of the inspection on my new home, but they were bought by Rite Way so Rite Way ended up being the company that did it. They recommended hydro jetting the sewer line and repairing a crack in the vent stack, each service estimated at about $2000. This is my first home so I had no idea what a normal cost is and we didn't have time for a second opinion during the inspection period. I've since learned that $2000 is about four times what a normal hydro jet service costs.
Despite numerous requests from both me and my realtor, Rite Way never provided me with the video from the sewer inspection, so I was never able to visually verify the state of my sewer line. I just had to take their word for it. After a lot of pestering, my realtor was finally able to get a single screenshot of the cracked vent.
I know better now, but we went ahead and scheduled the recommended services after we closed on the house. A team of guys (not the ones who did my inspection) came by, worked on the place all day, charged me $4000 and were on their way.
My quote and my invoice both said that a camera inspection of the sewer line would be done after the hydro jetting was complete. Once again, I was never shown the video nor did anyone send it to me. I have been calling them for weeks now trying to get a copy of this video as we are now experiencing drainage problems that we didn't have before. Every single time I call I am told that ""the plumbing dispatcher is not in."" No idea how they are able to dispatch plumbers with a plumbing dispatcher who never works! Anyway, they always say this mysterious person will call me so I can get the data and guess what never happens.
I know this is an older home so at this point I am increasingly concerned that Rite Way damaged my sewer line during this hydro jetting service and is afraid to tell me. That or they never did the camera inspection afterwards and they don't want to come back out and do it. Either way, the way they have treated me is extremely suspicious. I have a right to see the video--both videos--and they have continually dodged my requests. I can't trust anything they say or do now and I will actively tell everyone I know to avoid them. I was a naive first time homeowner and I feel like I've been scammed out of $4000 that was not easy for me to afford.
TL:DR: There's the right way, and there's the ""rite"" way. Rite Way is EXTREMELY unreliable, rescheduling me over 10 times in 2 days, and is ridiculously expensive, to boot. Also, they consider bringing a ladder with them to be an extraordinary request.
My story:
I only went with them at first because they were the only ones available to fix my A/C before the weekend. So Thursday, about 2:30 pm, I call them. I'm told someone will be by around 10 am the following morning and will call me 30-40 mins ahead of time.
10:00 comes and goes. I spend the rest of the day calling them every hour or two. Everyone in the office keeps telling me that, ""Oh, gee, looks like the technician is JUST finishing up the previous call RIGHT NOW!"" I stop believing it after the first couple times. By now, it's a little after 9 at night. FINALLY someone's supposed to come out soon and I'm talking to an actual technician, not someone in their office.
The only problem? I'm in a 2nd-floor unit (as they probably could have suspected by my unit number in the 200s). Apparently not all their trucks have an extension ladder, for some reason, and this technician doesn't have one. You know what would have been a good time to ask me if they might need a ladder? Anytime between 2:30 pm on Thursday and 9:00 pm on FRIDAY. They had well over 24 hours to let me know this could be an issue. I didn't even think to mention it when setting up the appointment, because what kind of air conditioning service doesn't have a LADDER with them?
So I call the office, which at least is still open at 9 pm, so at least that's something. I'm told someone will be out at 8:00 am sharp tomorrow morning, Saturday, and that they'll call 30-40 mins ahead. I set my alarm early, even though I haven't been sleeping well because it's been over 100 degrees inside.
Nothing. I call at about 8:40. Turns out there are 4 people ahead of me. FOUR. PEOPLE. So why did they tell me they'd be there first thing at 8:00? I could've slept in. They *graciously* (sarcasm) moved me up to ONLY 2nd in line. So someone finally got there at like 2:00 pm.
The technician was a very sweet-seeming young person, nothing wrong with them, just the company they work for. Turns out my 2-year-old compressor blew because of issues in the building itself; long story. So the compressor should be under warranty. If it IS under warranty, I'm told that replacing the same low-end unit will cost about $2900. If not under warranty, $3600.
I'm about ready to say fine, whatever, and sign my life away to them, but they keep putting me off over the phone. So Monday morning I call somebody else. To get a COMPLETE new condenser--not just the compressor--with a BETTER brand, IGNORING anything about the warranty on the old unit? $2800 for everything out the door--parts, labor, freon, everything. I end up with a new unit the following Thursday, which was the same time-frame that Rite Way had quoted me anyway.
Do NOT use these people. Even if desperate, like I was. You won't really end up with a fix any faster than just waiting for DECENT folks. (I went with Copper Canyon Mechanical and they were great.) And you'll pay too much for it, too. I still had to pay Rite Way $329 just to tell me what was wrong, and I regret giving them a single cent. Stay away from Rite Way!
Mike G.They sent a tech out to find out what was wrong with our AC unit. The tech said there was a leak and couldn't find it. We had another tech from another company come out and he found the leak. Rite Way was professional and credited us back the money for the cost that their tech to come out and some of the services. Maybe an inexperienced tech but the service department was very nice and didn't raise any concerns. Would do business here again based on their honesty.
Rite Way installed two new HVAC units ($$$$) at my home last August. They called me a while back and set an appointment for today, Monday 6/14/2021, to service the units.
I asked for the earliest appointment available.
The scheduler set me up for the appointment between 7am and 8am. I received multiple texts and emails from Rite Way confirming the appointment. Even this morning I received a text advising the technician would advise when he was enroute. I noticed, however, there were no times noted as to when he would arrive...
Sure enough I waited from 7am until 8am and of course no tech arrived at my home and there were no texts saying he was coming any time soon. I tried to call the Rite Way office after 8am, but was put on hold for 10 minutes and then an answering service finally picked up.
I left a message to cancel with the answering service, since I could not speak with a representative from Rite Way to determine my appointment status, as I had a busy day and could not just wait around for the tech to show up when it was convenient for Rite Way.
I did finally receive a text around 8:30 am saying the tech was on the way to my home. In my book too little too late. Sorry but not good enough
My appointment was suppose to be the first of the week and the first of the day so they can not blame other jobs for their delay. It simply reflects bad management of their service scheduling and employees.
I will be looking elsewhere for my hvac services.
We hired them for system check up.
They scanned system, checked freon and ran system.
Noted no repairs needed now possible coil would need to be replaced in future.
Two weeks later we turned air on , system blew and coil. 5 pounds of freon leaked out in two weeks causing coil to go.
Tech had line open and scanned freon 2 weeks earlier.
They do not want to take any responsibility. Their tech opened up line to scan freon and left it unsecured so system would break down.
Dont hire them in Tucson.
Tech threw out figures of 12 000 or 14000 for new system.
We strongly feel he left line loose and 5 pounds of freon leaked out so condenser couldn't pump it to coil.
