If I could give a 0 STARS!!! First American Home Buyers Protection sent Rite-Away Services to fix our faucet that broke outside. The plumber said he needed to cut a hole in the wall in my bedroom to fix it, the hole is 19"" x 14"", he told First American it was only 12"", if I could only post the photos. Then the faucet he put on the outside does not meet regulations and sticks out about 3"". A friend who works in the county checked it out and he said it was substandard and did not meet the regulations and we should contact First American. We did, their response, we want to see the report. They have all the pictures and still deny that Rite-Away Services did substandard work. Time to make some media noise.

Technician BRIAN came out to my home, replaced a hot water heater under my home warranty, did a great job, very informative on everything that was needed. Was very skeptical about having them come out due to all the negative reviews I see in this site, although I have not had any other service done by the company or any other technicians, but I give Brian five stars over all for giving me a courtesy call when he was 15 min out, arrived within my time frame I was given, was very respectful and informative and cleaned up after himself as if no one was here.

Should be zero stars. Never ever deal with them. Home warranty sent them. They made the problem worse. Had to get a real plumber to come and fix it. Now we are taking them to court. Horrible place to avoid at all costs.

What seemed legit at first turned out not to be. We had a leaky hose bibb, that was all; the plumber said he'd have to remove the dishwasher to get to the outside pipe.
Well, okay, he did that. But everything after that was ... disastrous.
The leaky hose bibb continues to leak. I was told at the time that because it was a new valve, it would have to 'seat' itself. What do I know from plumbing? Wasn't until later I learned I'd been lied to.
More disturbingly, my neighbor knocked on the door today asking who had stolen his spigot handle and put it on my outside faucet. Three guesses who. So not only was I lied to, but the plumber STOLE a piece of hardware from my NEIGHBOR.
Not only do I still have a leaky spigot, now I've got an irritated neighbor. GREAT JOB, Rite-A-Way. I suppose irate customers are the reason they don't answer the phone, and their website is offline.
This company was selected for us (as with the other reviews here) by First American. Well, First American needs to fire these clowns.

TERRIBLE, DON'T USE: I called in a claim under my First American Home Buyers Protection. I received a call from ""Rite-Away Services Pluming"" 1-800-974-7379. They dispatched a plumber right away (great!). The plumber was lazy and afraid, here's why: First, he said he put some putty around the drain and that stopped the leak. Then, he said the leak wasn't fixed and he's afraid there might be mold (not any particular evidence). He told me I had a half bucket of water coming through the ceiling downstairs. He told me I had to deal with another company PCR, to dry out this small 2 by 2 newly dampened drywall, test for mold, test for asbestos (which I told him was not an issue, i have HOA disclosers that state no asbestos was use to build the home, built in 1980, after asbestos was banned in residential homes). They showed up and quoted me $1500 + to do all this unnecessary work over two weeks and told me I should open a claim with my home owners insurance because they were going to charge well over $1000.
When I arrived home, I found:
o 1/2 cup of water... not a 1/2 bucket full. Plumber exaggerated!
o The ceiling had not changed, it was still maybe 2x2 square of damp drywall.
o PCRs De-humidifier in my living room, running since 3pm (which is bad because I'm charged for high energy cost 3pm-6pm).
I never signed anything authorizing PCR to start work or leave equipment running in my house.!!!
The more I evaluated the situation, the more I felt like the Plumber was subcontracting this out to his friends (probably for a referral bonus) and I was being scammed into an huge insurance expenditure!!!
I called my own plumber and paid out of pocket $250 to have it fixed in under 2 hours the next day. He cut open the 2 x 2 dry wall. There is NO asbestos (we already knew this) and there's NO MOLD. I tried to tell PCR and the plumber that, but they wouldn't listen. He said this leak hadn't been happening long it was just the shower valve. Which he's bought and fixed already.
I feel very taken advantage of in this situation. If I needed a drywall restoration company, I would have worked through my home owners insurance to find a trusted company they work with. I personally believe the Plumber from ""Rite-Away Services Pluming"" was shaking hands with PRC. He didn't do me any service, nor solve my problem. He just escalated matters by using scary words like ""a half bucket of water"" and ""mold/asbestos"" etc. And then he called another company and disappeared.

0 STARS!!!!! This company is contracted through First American Home Warranty. They are so TERRIBLE we are going to drop First American and go with another warranty company so we never have to deal with them again. Kevin is the name of the plumber who was sent out to replace my mothers hot water heater in the Lake Havasu area. When he arrived he immediately began telling her that she needed a bunch of ""modifications"" that were not covered by warranty as well as other equipment that was not needed racking up the uncovered bill to almost $400. My mother is not an idiot and immediately called the plumber we use and payed for a second opinion. When our plumber confirmed our suspicions (Kevin was trying to rip off my mom). She called the warranty company. Seemed like everything was worked out until Kevin showed up and then began yelling at my mom that she had no right to call and request that his quote should be changed. Kevin was so angered and enraged that my mom called me crying and scared. I unfortunately was out of town. She told him to leave and we called out our plumber. The hot water has been installed without any issues and without all of the ""required"" equipment that Kevin said we needed. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!!. We have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, although they are not registered with them. Imagine that. Oh and First American could care less that they are dealing with a fraudulent company.

We only used Rite-A-Way because First American Home Warranty sent them. We saw all the bad reviews and rating and hoped we wouldn't have the same issues but we did. This company is horrible to get ahold of, rarely answers their phone, manager is never available to speak to and they take days to call back. They came out to replace a broken garbage disposal. We were told parts needed to be ordered and that it would only take a few business days to get them in. Almost two weeks later and numerous unreturned phone calls to the company we got the disposal replaced.
A couple weeks later we had some contract work done in the kitchen and ultimately the cord to the disposal came loose and the disposal stopped working. After speaking with our home warranty company they sent rite-a-way back out to see what was wrong with the disposal (we were within the 30 day warranty period but did not know the cord was loose at this time). I called Rite-A-Way monday morning to schedule an appointment. Just like the last time, no one answered the phone and I did not get a call back until Wednesday when they left me a message confirming my appointment for Thursday afternoon. I never spoke to anyone, they just made this appointment up themselves.
During out appointment the technician realized it was an unplugged cord and became very rude, sarcastic and told us we owed him $60. I explained to him our home warranty said no matter what the reason was (even if it was a silly mistake on our part) we would not owe and more money because we were within the 30 day warrant period. He laughed and said ""oh well, ill leave you alone.. I get paid anyways."" 5 minutes later he came back to our door with the home warranty company on the phone asking for money again.
Do not do business with this company unless you want a very frustrating experience.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!! They deserve this 1 star review. Their customer service is terrible! They were sent by First American Home Warranty. If they are sent to you, call 1st American and request another contractor immediately!

NEGATIVE 10. PLEASE READ! Rite Away are Crooks. I've been WITHOUT HOT WATER FOR 11 DAYS! These people hav no sense of urgency or professionalism. They are pure rip off artists! Hot water heater went out, they are charging $325 out of pocket for fittings? Above warranty. Guy came out for 5 minutes and haven't seen him since? I've taken several days off work and here I sit again and they are a NO show. If you value your time and money NEVER use them!

Came out via First American Home Buyers Protection Corporation. Rite-Away did nothing to fix the problem! Tried to up sell products not associated with the immediate problem and left. Worst plumbing business I have ever dealt with in 20+ years of home ownership and property management. Stay far away from this company!
