Came out via First American Home Buyers Protection Corporation. Rite-Away did nothing to fix the problem! Tried to up sell products not associated with the immediate problem and left. Worst plumbing business I have ever dealt with in 20+ years of home ownership and property management. Stay far away from this company!

0 STARS!!!!! (Buy Yelp makes you chose at least one)

Not only is Rite-A-Way sent by First American Home Warranty but they (1) misdiagnosed an issue with my garbage disposal (4 hours wasted)....technician did not even have another disposal on his truck by the time he called me (1/2 hour before end of block of time), came back the next day and said it was an electrical problem.

Electrician came 4 days later and said the plumber ""goofed"". It WAS the disposal that needs to be replaced.

Called Rite-a-Way again and demanded (and was confirmed) for first appointment of the day today (9am). As of 12:35pm, no show/no call.

I called Marlette and she could not reach the technician but she also confirmed we were listed as the first appointment of the day.

I'm also going to lodge a complaint with the BBB against them for wasting my time.

Sure - under the home warranty, they're not making any money on me, but this really takes the cake.

STAY AWAY FROM THEM!

I'm a first time home owner and with my home now approaching 14 years old, I've began to have some maintenance issues.

Home maintenance is the LAST thing I want to deal with. So, when I had a couple of plumbing issues arise (kitchen disposal and small water leak in bathroom), I was dreading what the process might be like to fix it.

Rite-away sent someone out in a timely manner. I suppose the experience could differ, depending on who is assigned. ""Wally"" was assigned my job and he was very diligent, straight forward and efficient!

He was also very concise in explaining what he was fixing and showing me the issues. So therefore, very very trustworthy also.

This is my first Yelp review. I felt compelled to write because I am relieved to have these thing fixed and I felt props were deserved for the integrity of work.

Was given a four-hour window for service today. Now entering hour six... complete waste of my day. Wouldn't touch this company again

A technician came out after 2 days and replaced a condensor switch and then said I needed a new compressor. That would have taken another 3 days. In the interim I contacted a different service and when they came out they said the contacts were rewired backwards. The compressor works and now I have cool air. Very dissassisfied with the service this organization provided.

These guys are worthles DO NOT USE. Spent 2 days witha water leak. First day a guy showed up said he didn't have the equopement and left. Second day a guy showed up drilled several holes in floor said he thought it was a slab leak and couldn't get to it for 5 days.
Called anither plumber showed up right away and fixed a leaky pipe for 1/4 the cost not a slab leak

Absolutely terrible! They were arranged to come out from my home warranty, First American. Was told the plumber would be there between 10 and 2. At 1pm someone contacted me and said the plumber probably won't, but might be a little later than 2. At 2:45 I called to see where he was, and was told he probably wouldn't be there until after 5!! I called First American to try and arrange someone else to come & was surprised to hear back that Rite-A-Way flat out lied to them and said my appointment window was between 12 and 4. Really didn't want someone this dishonest in my home but didn't want to wait hours another day for another plumber. What time did they finally arrive?? Not until 7:15pm! Have never dealt with such a terrible contractor and am surprised that First American would continue to have them represent them.

This company is horrible to work with. The customer service staff has had me on hold for most of a full day. They have given me the run around as to why their technician did not show up for 4 hours AFTER the scheduled 4 hour window and no one notified me.

They fail to call me back every time they say they are working on figuring something out. Then, every time I call the office the attendant asks ""will you hold please"". After 3 separate 5 minute holds I answer ""no"" and the attendant gets upset.

The technician that finally did come out (for a $75 service charge) was friendly and agreed that the call center was less than wonderful.

Unfortunately my insurance company works with this company and are forcing me to use them.

I will never EVER again use this company for anything!

I have used both Rainforest and Straight Line at my business and have had good experiences with each.

I too had the wonderful visit from Rite-Away Scam services through my home warranty company (First American Home Buyers Protection Company). My hot water heater was going out on me and my home warranty company had them come out. On arrival the technician looked over the hot water heater and said it needs to be replaced but it will cost $385 to replace the hook up lines ($150), bring the pressure relief line to code ($150), haul if off $30, and $55 for the deductible. In shock again the price and where he is getting his numbers from. He then stuttered and said well I can give you a 50% discount on the work and only charge $75 for the hook up line and $75 for the pressure relief line. Taking the total installation cost of this warranted item to $235.
Well thankfully I know a little bit about plumbing and know the pressure relief line was definitely to code, the hook up line were in perfect condition (basically new) since 6 months before the previous owners of the house had to put new one on as part of the sale agreement.
The shocker was the markup they were getting for all of this. If lets say they had to buy new flex lines that's at most $20 and parts for the relief line would be at most $10. In total 30 minutes worth of worth and they wanted to charge me $120 for 30 minutes worth of work when they were billing he home warranty company for the installation time anyways. So here their double dipping on an install charges. I bring this to the home warranty company's attention and they don't care. It's sound to me like it's a scam from both parties.
Now I am awaiting a call back from the home warranty company on a cash out for the hot water heater so I can buy my own and install it. Will follow up if I ever get that call back.
