Worthless. Could not get the water fixed or even diagnose the problem. Send them away.

I get that they are overworked and over utilized by my warranty company...not a problem for me...they showed up and the gentleman they sent was very personable. We had a nice conversation while he ""worked.""
I had done some preliminary research on the symptoms (not as hot water as before and running out sooner than before) and was led to believe that the dip tube could be the culprit. I mentioned this several times to the man they sent, he told me no, that I had simply set the temp too low. I also asked him to look at the burner and inside that are to make sure all was good in there (he gave it a cursory look.) I was pretty annoyed when we were ""done"", that I paid $125 (my portion) to be told that I needed to adjust the setting. I'm a fairly handy homeowner and do lots of repairs and small remodeling myself, but didn't want to mess around with the water heater. I know where it was set and also don't think that the solution is to simply turn it hotter...not with the chance of scalding a family member.
Well no surprise it didn't fix the problem. I was annoyed for about a week and I decided to check the dip tube out myself. Short story long - it was cracked nearly the entire length once I pulled it out.....I replaced it for less than $5 plus my time.
I called the number on the invoice to ask about a partial refund of my fee and was assured that the manager/supervisor would call me back the next day...that was a couple months ago...guess it is time to move on.
I'll never call another plumbing problem in to AHS and let them send me this company - they didn't listen to their customer and didn't want to hear what I had to say. The employee they send was very nice, but was new and even admitted it to me when we discussed how he got into the business.

This company seems to be very busy as they work through various home warranty companies. Most of the complaints I've read and heard about this company are matters that are out of their hands and stem from the regulations set by Home Warranty companies. Home Warranty policies work in a way that limits the contractor from doing jobs exactly how they would normally do it - things are usually done piece-meal because of these policies. We called Rite-A-Way after a job they did a few months ago through our home warranty company which was red-flagged by the city because of a small paperwork hold up. After worming through their 800 number we got in touch with a local rep. He was personable, friendly, got the job done within 24 hours, and even asked to double check the job to make sure it was done correctly... free of charge. This is outstanding service. 4/5 stars because the company on the whole needs some work... the 800 number is a hassle. But when you get in touch with the local team and past the home warranty aspect, they will do their best to make you a satisfied customer.

Completely unhappy, My home warranty company called them. I have no choice in whom is called. They gave me a 4 hour window for when they were going to show up.They had no other openings , so I took what I got. Of their 4 hour window, they show up in the last hour, I left them a note specifying that I had a child to pick up. I would be back in 15 minutes. In exactly 15 minutes, after breaking several speed laws I was turning onto my street. Rite-A-Way was driving away. They couldn't even wait the length of time that they scheduled me for. The 4 hour window is not applicable to us.... only to their convenience. Now they are trying to bill me for a service that wasn't even provided. I had to have the insurance send out another company and wait another 3 days . All while having no kitchen sink. Because they couldn't be bothered to wait for the home owner to return during the last 30 minutes of their 4 hour window.
I appreciate that I wasn't home , I was gone exactly 15 minutes to pick a minor up from school. 4 hour window or not, did they stay and wait? Did they complete a service ?
Should I have to pay for a service that didn't happen?
If your home insurance refers this company, tell them no.
If you don't have the time to do the work. Don't accept it.

also have a home warranty that referred No-Way Plumbing. They came and I paid $65, they looked at clogged bathtub drain, said we needed a hydro something-or-other and left; I called home warranty to tell them to re-send the plumber to fix the drain at no extra charge. No-Way again came out two weeks later, looked at the drain, said they needed a hydro blower or something and that they couldn't do anything about it, and left. I've got a call in to home warranty company to never use this plumber with me again. Sheesh !

Well this company is horrible. We will never use them again and told the company we deal with never again. For Jim the person that works for the company. Let me tell you someone was scheduled between 9-1. Well guess what, maybe a surprise to you no one showed up. Well there is a such thing as a telephone. You call people on it. Well that's all it takes is a phone call and nothing. Horrible because you think you are the person that has it hard. So do a lot of other people. Well guess what, it's done because my husband fixed it. Couldn't wait till Saturday. I give your company a 0.

Ok so this is how it goes. I work for this company and let me say this. We work directly for your warranty companies. What we do and can't do is all depending on your policies or company. Why it takes so long to get stuff done is we have to go through a process of purchase orders, authorizations and schedules. We are so busy that our turnarounds are lengthy. We are very versed and qualified to service your home. Just cause we are the face that shows up does not mean we are at fault. We have 8 calls a day per plumber and currently only have two in a large area and things happen beyound or control or offices control. We work our butts off driving long distances while still having more work than we can do and wish homeowners wouldn't beat down the messengers of their respective warranty companies choice of company. If you ever have called your company and sat on hold just to get answers then times that by 8-9 times a day or more. Hope this sheds some light on what we do and how we are told to do it. The warranty companies have list of contractors, we are the cheapest so they load us up. The secondary contractors are more expensive to use so they are half as busy as us so they are able to keep appts and schedules. We try our best to service the calls, but servicing calls from Saucalito to Windsor in one day gets slowed down. I've been in Vacaville, Fairfield, Vallejo, Novato, Sonoma then Rohnert Park in one scheduled day. I hope most that read this understands that we are in a van driving the same roads as you and get held up, run into calls that take a big chunk out of the day and just simply can't carry every little part on our van. No excuses because this is reality. Thank you and Merry Christmas to all.

This company should be closed down as they do nothing but cheat and lie to people. The only reason I am working with them is because they are the chosen vendor from a homeowners warranty company, American Home Shield. I plan to jettison them as a home warranty company due to their perpetuation of the relationship with such an incredibly callous and poorly functioning company.
I called in a non-working hot water heater on 11/19/2015. As of today, the hot water heater is still not working. I have called American Home Shield over 15 times and spent hours on the telephone with them to try and either get their worthless vendor, Rite Away to perform or to assign me another vendor. Their representatives called Rite Away several times and several appointments were set. Not once have they shown up for their appointments set and not once did they call to let me know no one would be showing up for the appointments. Most of the times when I have called Rite Away they have a message that says they are too busy to come to the telephone and to call back later. When I have gotten someone on the line, they have different stories about their lack of performance each time but the stories are never the truth.
Neither of these companies care one whit about customer service or something like this could never occur. I read their previous reviews and all relate similar experiences as mine. As in the other reviews, Rite Away would get zero stars from me because what they really deserve is being shut down so that the general population doesn't have to experience the type of abuse they dole out on an ongoing basis. Note that not one single person has one thing good to say about Rite Away. Apparently it is a deal with them and the Homeowners warranty company to keep from having to fulfill their obligations. Any company dependent on the goodwill of previous customers could never survive but these guys are still operating. Most of the reviewers worked with Rite Away due to use of their Homeowners Warranty. They didn't select Rite Away because of their reputation for good and timely service, obviously.
Can't say enough bad things about this company but I'm sure these type of reviews will continue to mount up. Look what they have received so far.

2 Friday afternoons off of work waiting for a ""scheduled appointment"" and both were no-shows with no calls. The dispatchers have to take all the abuse as the ""supervisor"" and ""owner"" were both away from their office. How do they stay in business? As others have said, too bad there isn't a way to select no stars

Will yet another 1 star make a difference? Probably not but seriously, don't ever let these plumbers into your home. Not even for a quote or opinion. Rite-A-Way was sent by our home warrantee company to look at a rusty, leaking, 15-year old (expired) water heater. They recommended the heater should get replaced. I called the home warrantee company to request a cash-out so we can choose the vendor ourselves (I had read all the other extremely helpful Yelp reviews). The home warrantee agent called Rite-A-Way to confirm the value on the cash-out and then came back on the line to tell me that Rite-A-Way had suddenly changed their mind and no longer recommended that the water heater get replaced. I can only assume this change of heart came about as they realized they would not get the business of doing the actual replacement. I gave up on the warrantee and played phone tag with another plumber for a month when the tank went from a slow drip to a steady stream. I've added a picture of what the water tank looked like when we got it replaced - 4 large holes on the bottom. $1,000 worth of water damage to the drywall. Thanks for nothing, Rite-A-Way. Your business license should be revoked.
If your home warrantee company assigns Rite-A-Way, call them and ask for another vendor.
