If I could give zero stars, I would. They installed my water heater and within 1 year it quit working. They sent a plumber, who determine that it was improperly installed. A pipe was not tightened, it leaked and caused the thermocouple to fail. Home warranty company still charged me the deductible because Rit A Way lied about the the faulty installation.

I can only comment about Steve and the service he provided. Steve was terrific!! I know very little about plumbing issues and he explained clearly what was wrong with our 2 showers and one bathtub. He didn't mind me asking questions and he was so good at what he does.
I told Rite A Way that I wanted Steve based on the reviews he's gotten. He lived up to the 5 star reviews.

Steve came to our home tonight and he was FABULOUS he was so helpful and told us everything he needed/was doing. Best guy that has ever stepped in our home to fix the issues. We had an EMERGENCY and he calmed me right down!!!!!
BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT EVER!! Thanks ever so much.... I will tell EVERYONE my story Danielle

This company claims on the home page of their website that they have 24-7 service and that they'll arrive within 60 minutes of a call. We were referred to them by our home warranty company a few minutes before 7pm (on a Wednesday), and were told that the soonest they could come out is Saturday at 9am. When we asked about the claim about around-the-clock and quick service on their home page, the woman on the phone didn't seem to know how to respond. We then called our (useless) home warranty company back and they said they could put a rush on the service request. So we called Rite-A-Way back a few minutes after 7pm, and they were closed!! The company that advertises 24-7 service was closed. Huh.

I had a tech install a water heater in my home. The tech was contracted by First American Home Warranty.
Here's what the tech did:
1. Installed the wrong wrong water heater.
(What does that mean?) that means that when I called the manufacturer American Standard after it failed, they informed me that the water heater serial # I was giving them was for a water heater older than 1 year. The water heater installed by the tech was only 10 months old, but not according to the serial # on the water heater, therefore making the warranty void. So...I called FirstAm, and their receipt did not match the serial # of the water heater. So FirstAm is now conduction and internal investigation for the discrepancy with Rite Away.
Ok, while they sort it out which I believe is called the old switcharoo...let's continue with the list.
2. The water heater was installed incorrectly, which could be he reason it failed? Due to the incorrect manner in which it was installed, it started leaking carbon monoxide.
3. The tech never requested or got permits for the install.
Ok, so that's what happened. Good luck if you end up with Rite Away.

The worst services company ever. They contract with AHS and are quick to come over and grab your service fee. Then they disappear for weeks and months. They also hang up on you if questioned about their horrible service. Looks like a scam business here. My leaky toilets are still not fixed after six months. Technician promises to come and never shows up. The company covers him by giving excuses. Customers should run them out of business, if not more people will be affected by their horrible service and attitude. Power to the consumer!

DOESNT EVEN DESERVE ONE STAR
they came out to attempt to fix my backed up kitchen sink. the first time, the guys said he fixed it but when I went to use the sink it was still backed up. the second time, a few days later, he came with a tiny do it yourself snake that was 25 feet and tried to snake the pipe from the kitchen sink, the garage sink and the washing machine. he could not make even the lightest bit of improvement. he left and I got a call later saying that in order to fix the problem I would have to pay $900!!!!!!!!!!!!! that's NINE HUDRED DOLLARS!! to cut through the side of the house and create a clean out valve near the kitchen. Did he think his snake would suddenly be longer by doing this?
I called another plumber, and he fixed the sink in 15 minutes with a REAL snake!
this company is a joke!!!!!!!!! they tried to scam me!

I live in Napa, Ca. Worker that showed up called ahead to let me know when I could expect him. Was extremely kind, knowledgable, efficient and went above all my expectations. ""Fantastic"".

Depending on whether our problem is in the kitchen or the bathroom, American Home Shield has sent Rite-A-Way Services or Royal Services. Rite-A-Way is quite terrible, while Royal Services does a great job.
Our garbage disposal stopped working. AHS sent Rite-A-Way. They sent a ""technician"" who used ""percussive techniques,"" that is, he banged on our pipes! The garbage disposal became loose at the top where it connects to the kitchen sink, and he broke the P-joint so our leak became worse!
AHS sent Rite-A-Way back to fix the P-joint and the garbage disposal. After he left, I noticed our dishwasher stopped draining completely! It turns out the Rite-A-Way ""technician"" tore the hose between the garbage disposal and the air gap for the dishwasher!
I then had two more service calls where they denied being the cause of the problem. I demanded AHS send Royal Services, who had fixed our toilet before.
Royal Services came and fixed, in an hour, the messes that Rite-A-Way had caused over the course of nearly four months! (mid-May to late-August 2016). Our garbage disposal and our dishwasher both drain now, thanks to Royal Services and no thanks to Rite-A-Way!

I agree another 1 star is not going to help this company improve. They were also sent by my insurance company for just a second opinion - no work. The guy ended up breaking a fitting to the water main, and claimed it was not his fault. He wanted $250 to fix it or he was going to leave me with no water to the house.
