Recommended Customer Reviews

This company is top notch! It's not always easy to find services that are honest, have excellent customer service and quick responsiveness. They spent their time diagnosing the problem in our home and were thorough in explaining the issue and determining a solution. HIGHLY recommended.

Very satisfied with their work. We discovered a slow leak in our main water line. Ridgeway came out on a Saturday to give an estimate and had the problem taken care of asap. They were also recommended to us by a 3rd party contractor, who helped clean up the mess, after they heard we had a quote from them. We had 4 other quotes. One other was close, but they level of expertise we heard these guys had far surpassed the others. That was the decision maker. Our experience confirmed the recommendation. The guys came out and minimally disturbed the yard as well as the interior. The other plumbers wanted to trench the yard and cut a bunch more drywall. Labor intensive and dirty. They came up with a much better solution that I am sure was more difficult for them. The two plumber explained their methods in detail and treated us very professionally. We will use them again.

Very fast to schedule an appointment but didn't show at all. After 3 times affirming the crew was on their way, they stopped answering the phone and nobody showed up. Very poor service. Unreliable.

Ridgeway was referred to us by Davis Plumbing, who couldn't make it to our home same day. Ridgeway was available immediately, and showed up on time. We had a backed up drain that prevented us from running our kitchen sink or washing machine--not great timing when you have guests coming over to bake Xmas goodies. James explained the likely problem and told me what his approach and cost would be before he started. He cut a small hole in our 88-year old steel pipe to see how blocked they were and showed me the line's 90% blockage. He explained that if he was unable to clear the blockage, we'd need to replace the line. I didn't ask what that cost; I was sure I didn't want to know. I crossed my fingers while he worked and was relieved when he reported the block was cleared. Amazing to see what a difference there was---it was like we had a new line. The whole adventure from discovery of the problem this morning to resolution took less than two hours. Our kitchen and laundry room are back online.

The service man came to the house quickly, diagnosed the problem, said I needed to fix the overflow on tub (quoted $450). After further examination, he said the drain needed to be replaced too for an extra $50. Then he attempted to take out the drain it broke (understandable with corrosion). Quoted another $150 for labor to heat up the drain and manually remove it. The """"extra labor"""" took 10 minutes; 20 minutes later the job was done. $650 for a job that took 1.5 hours to complete. He was going to charge $200 just for the diagnosis. Tub has yet to be tested as he forgot to leave the drain stopper after the job today.

Three service calls for the same leaking shower. Tenants upset and then late to service call. First replaced the hot water stem in December, 5 months later they said hard water built up was causing the same leak and the last (2 months later) was that the tenant tighten faucet to hard. When I asked for receipts I was sent over falsified documents that did not match what I had and signed by my tenant. They even claimed to replace the cold water valve which I had my handyman replace earlier in the year and when I spoke with the service technician he claimed hard water build up I never mind paying for service but just be honest and do a good job. This company was neither. The only thing I can say nice is they are friendly on the phone and they will be sending me a refund for the 2nd service call

Ridgeway Mechanical - you guys are the best!!!! The water in my house drives me bonkers from time to time - the builder did a poor job with the water main, which I hired Ridgeway Mechanical to fix several years ago. Following this, I've contacted them twice this year (2013) to repair/replace aging plumbing items - one supply valve where the nut cracked, and one overflow valve that had gone bad. In every interaction I've had with RIdgeway, the techs have been straightforward, explained what work they were recommending be performed and why, and have been super quick to finish the work. Technicians James and David (two that I have worked with) really know what they are doing and get the job done! And if that's not enough, their prices are reasonable, even when they have to make a weekend call. So thankful to have found them and they're my go-to whenever plumbing issues strike.

I had replaced the sinks and countertops in two bathrooms. I was planning to re-use the existing faucets that I had taken off, so I got started and hooked up one of the faucets. When I got done with one, the cold was leaking and the hot water did not even turn off, so I decided I was not a plumber and I called Ridgeway Mechanical to come and hook them up for me. This was on a Saturday around noon, so I was thrilled when they said they could come out and do it on Sunday at 9:30am. On Sunday morning, well 9:30 came and went and no word from them. I finally received a call a little past 10:30am to say they would be there by 11:15am. They arrived about 11:30, so starting out 2 hours later than I was originally told. They did hook up the faucet, but it was still leaking and they said I would need to replace the cartridge. They did not have one that would work and I would need to order one. They said they had """"freed up"""" the old cartridge so all I would need to do was unscrew the old cartridge and screw in the new cartridge. Well, I ordered a new cartridge, and when I went to unscrew the old cartridge, guess what, it had not been 'freed up"""". So, I paid a total of $300 for both faucets to be hooked up and now have to undo what they had done on the one faucet to """"free up"""" and unscrew the old cartridge to replace it.

I discovered that my water heater stopped working on Christmas eve of all days. I left work early and wanted to wind down with a hot shower. I turn on the shower and realized it was not warming up. Went downstairs to check the circuit breaker and what do you know, the breaker was tripped. Cutting it on solved my problem right? Ehhhhh nah. I called Roto-Rooter first (see my review for them) and they kept pushing my time out till the point that it was nighttime. I didn't feel comfortable with that so I canceled with them and called Ridgeway the next morning. The technician was very timely (he actually got to my house before I did and he didn't mind one bit), very friendly and professional. He explained to me that one of my elements in my water heater had corroded and suggested that if he replaced one he might as well replace the other one. That was a good move because both of them looked like someone spilled battery acid on them. He also explained to me that my water heater was manufactured in 2004. I moved in my brand new house in 2007 and I wondered why I had an issue with that water heater in 2008. Horrible (Georgia construction laws are horrible). So needless to say my water heater is already 8 years old. SMH Anyway it took him less than a hour to complete the work and he informed me that if the water heater started acting up again I could call him back and he would replace the heater minus part of the cost of the elements so I wouldn't be out so much money. I thought this was really nice. My lesson learned here is to go with smaller, non-chain companies. You get a better experience overall. I'm sure I would have been PISSED by time Roto-Rooter got finished (and my pockets way lighter) I will continue to use them in the future!

Kelly (sp?) was really nice and professional. He fixed my disposal and dishwasher in 10 minutes.
