After a heatless freezing December we finally found our heating savior! Richard and his very professional crew helped us redo our entire heating and cooling system in our old 1920s house. Richard is one of the honest, courteous and responsible contractors we've worked with. The crew stayed exactly on schedule and budget. After 5 years of freezing in our house we're finally warm. We also added AC and are thrilled with the entire job.

Richard was a pleasure to work with. Our central heating went bad 2 years ago. I did my research and selected 3 companies to get bids from. Richard was the only one to show up ontime. In his bid he included 3 options which meet my needs and were budget friendly. I am a very busy person and I really could appreciate the fact that he used email to communicate with me. I had some insurance issues that needed to be resolved and he was helpful with that also. Once I finished with all that other stuff I decided to go with Richard. I picked the best option for me, we scheduled a date and time, and it was a go. He arrived as scheduled did the work to my satisfatction and theres now heat in my home after 2 of the coldest winters ever. It was a woulderful experience.

Installed new furnace in our home on Feb 12, 2011. Extremely professional, clear, helpful, on time, on budget. About as hassle-free as you will find. Helped with paperwork for rebate from PG&E as well. And federal tax credit.

Called Richard based on Yelp reviews which I generally trust, and initially found him to be very professional on the phone and when bidding. He came twice to evaluate the job, but when I called to discuss the bid he disappeared into thin air. I left 3 messages over the course of the week trying lock everything down, w/o a single returned call. Any explanation would have been better than dead air, and I thought this was INCREDIBLY unprofessional and inconsiderate. I honestly would have expected better given the reviews I read. Professionals in any field should never leave clients hanging like that, especially when both parties invested valuable time to evaluate the job, and there are families involved.

I scheduled an appt for an A/C installation estimate over one week in advance and Richard also called the same day to confirm. I thought that was great but he never showed up. If he calls back and explains why he didn't call to cancel or tells me why he was delayed, I might change my rating but for now, only 1 star.

Richard has now installed 2 really good furnace and ducts systems in our home and a rental we own in Berkeley this year (2010-2011) and we could not be more pleased (even the city inspector asked for a reference so he could send his friends to Richard!)
His price is completely competitive and he takes the time to analyze how you use your house and what the best strategy for installation will be. In the second install we used a dual control system, so our kids downstairs are no longer blasted with heat when we are wanting it to be warmer upstairs.
His team is fantastic- these men are so skilled, so polite, so considerate, and clean up so well! Unlike earlier comments, on both jobs Richard and his crew ALWAYS showed up and always on time. And they leave behind a furnace and duct system that is so much better than what we had. My husband wonders why we didn't do this new furnace thing years ago.
Oh- and he just sent me the rebate and tax instructions- he completes the job from beginning to end! I most highly recommend you use his company

We just had a baby and needed a heater in this cold summer! My father, who is a general contractor who lives in Southern CA, interviewed several people before deciding on Richard's company. He was on time and CLEAN. The crew that worked him him made sure to keep the noise down since there was a newborn trying to sleep. They were done on time and made sure any debris was cleaned up at the end of each day.

Richard is the best contractor I have ever used! He and his crew replaced my 80 year old furnace with a high efficiency model and new thermostat, redid the ducting and added a new duct to one of my rooms (which was tricky). Richard is very polite, informative, and his word is golden. His bid was very reasonable, he explained everything completely and clearly, and he and his crew were always on time. Richard also took care of the rebate and tax credit documentation. The crew were exceptionally neat and well mannered and they left the areas they worked in cleaner than they were as they began the job. He found a way to move the location of the furnace to under my house which opened up huge additional space in my workshop.

You can completely rely on Richard- he is honest, professional and a truly decent guy. Look no further for a heating or plumbing contractor- this is THE one!

Richard is definitely an excellent plumber and heater specialist. I used his services such as removing my old water heater and furnace then adding a new tank-less water heater and a new cost efficient furnace. I am not mentioning the fact that he needed to revamp some of the pipes, add some new switches, etc ..

1/ His prices are really competitive.
2/ He is extremely competent.
3/ He is trustworthy, patient and honest.
4/ He will perform the work in timely manner w/o compromising the quality.
5/ He is extremely patient and will keep you up to date on a daily basis.

You can't go wrong with Richard. I met a lot of contractors, plumbers, etc ... Richard is by far one of the best I ever dealt with.
