I called Richard and his crew to get a modern heating system installed in my house. While they were there they noticed a sewage line that needed replacing, and also fixed a broken water heater. All the work they did was extremely professional, and they also gave me a really good deal.

Richard puts a lot of nice touches in his work. For example, he installed lighting in my crawlspace so it is easier for me to get to the heating unit, and when I told him that we had a baby on the way he put a strong metal grate over the air intake to make sure that no toys find their way into the heater. He could certainly have cut corners on things like that and I would never have been the wiser, but you can tell he takes pride in doing a good job.

Richard and his crew did all this work several months ago, and I have had no problems since then. Their suggested placement of the air vents works very well, and the house is very evenly heated. I would definitely recommend calling him for any kind of plumbing or hvac work that you need done.

If you are looking for a respectable, genuine, artisan for either your heating or plumbing needs, Richard is your guy. You can stop looking. Trust me, Richard and his team is quite unbelievable AND came in less than both the other bids.

I had 2 other bids by reputable companies. Richard arrived, asked to look around and survey the system (neither previous company did so). He then recommended a solution and defended why he thought so. I was impressed.

He finished the work yesterday and it ended up being a work of art. It was a significant amount of work. Because he wants everything done right, he goes beyond the call of duty to ensure so. Everything was cleaned up and removed.

As for Victoria's comment below, I just don't see it. I certainly did not have all my ducks in the row, and he handled everything gracefully. Not sure what happened, but you can see by the rest of the recommendations, yours falls out as a clear exception.

I only write yelp comments when I feel strongly one way or another. Richard is a class act and a master of his craft. He is also a really nice guys.

I give my absolute highest recommendation for his services.

I asked Richard to come and give me and my partner a quote for a large job. He suggested 9am this Saturday morning (earlier today) and was there pretty much on time.

I wasn't at the house then, but my partner whom he exchanged emails with to settle the time and who gave Richard his phone number was there, but out of earshot of the front door at that moment. When Richard knocked and got no response, he phoned me and I suggested maybe my partner could be out of earshot or snoozing and that he yell. I called my partner immediately. He was in fact awake, so I told him Richard was there and he ran to the front door only to see the van disappearing. Richard hadn't yelled or called my partner or waited. I kept calling trying to get him to turn around but he didn't call me back all day.

I would have expected at least a call back, but apparently Richard has just dismissed us as not worth dealing with further. Possibly he is so great that he doesn't need the work, but I find his behavior distinctly unpleasant.

You will need to have all your ducks in a very neat row if you're going to have the privilege of doing business with this guy.

Wow. On time, thoughtful, knowledgeable, patient. Richard and his crew really went above and beyond. The bid was competitive, for sure, but more importantly, I felt really comfortable with Richard and his crew as people. They were extremely professional, and I didn't mind at all having them iround my home whether I was there or not. They were very good stewards of my home, and kept the job site and their work very neat and clean. I just really can't say enough positive things about them. I'll definitely be calling them back when it's time for us to do some of the plumbing work we need.

We highly recommend Richard and his team. We called several local businesses for bids, and while Richard's wasn't the lowest bid, he was willing to negotiate to a price that we felt comfortable with without sacrificing quality of workmanship at all.

He and his team are prompt, courteous, and helpful, answering all of our questions with lots of patience. They removed our old furnace (along with an asbestos wrapped duct), suspended our new furnace securely to the beams in our basement that resulted in freeing up a massive amount of space and replaced our duct system. Their workmanship is great - in fact, shortly after, I had another contractor over to give a bid for another project, and he was complimenting Richard's workmanship.

We have an exposed breezeway that connects an addition to the main part of the house, and we didn't have any central heat in our master bedroom. Richard added a register to our bedroom in a creative and unobtrusive way. When they opened up the wall to see where the duct would travel, they decided that the register would have to be in a different location than originally planned, and took off several hundred dollars from our agreed upon estimate because it was a location that was easier to access.

Our new furnace is more efficient and we love it. Thank you!

I did not realize that plumbing was an art until Richard worked on our building. He completely re-piped the entire building, replacing our 1928 pipes with copper. And it looks GREAT! Richard and his crew were professional, courteous, excellent and all things good.

Richard pays attention to small details and brought some other issues to our attention. When all was said and done, we couldn't have asked for or expected more.

Richard and his crew are awesome! We had a brand new heating system installed in our old 1929 home. In addition he replaced our existing water heater with a tankless one. He removed our existing old boiler/radiator system which was no easy task. Richard and his guys were always prompt and courteous and always worked around us and our schedule. The house was cleaned up each and every day at 5:00 PM without a trace that work was being done. His bid was fair and he took the time to explain, both in email and via phone, all of the options that we had. I would definitely recommend Richard's Plumbing and Heating!

You can believe all of Richard's five-star reviews. My husband and I are HUGE fans, after just one job. Richard recently installed a new furnace and ducts and added three registers in our 1926 Craftsman home. We chose Richard after getting three bids; the price was reasonable, and he explained our options and answered our questions very patiently. He and his crew did a beautiful job replacing our corroded old system with an efficient, properly braced one. They arrived exactly on time every day and left the crawlspace where they were working cleaner than it was before. They took care when adding registers in our wood floors. It was a great pleasure to work with Richard; he is professional, friendly, conscientious, and crystal clear in his explanations. He kept us updated on the details of the work every day, and he cared enough about us and our home to investigate the safety of our dryer vent and water heater. Though it was unrelated to the heating system, he fixed our dryer vent, which had collapsed and was sending exhaust (and lint) back into the house. He simply cares about making homes healthier and safer. We are relieved to be entering fall/winter with a safe and reliable system, especially since we are expecting our first baby. Richard's team installed infrastructure in my old house for a washing machine so I could join the modern era. With elevation and various other considerations, it was quite a complex situation.
