I'm really pleased to be able to give Richard another 5-star review (he installed central heat in a house I used to live in-- a 1921 Craftsman).

This time around he has done another fantastic job installing central heat in my quirky mid-century home. The job involved locating registers and cutting the floor, and cutting some porcelain tiles. He did the job to perfection, was tidy, on time, and right on budget, and really worked with me to make sure I was happy with the location of some of the registers (a few were tricky to place because of an unforeseen foundation issue, but he was cheerful about working with me to resolve everything). The work is pristine, my house is warm, and I can't thank him enough.

The bid was ALSO several thousand dollars less than I was quoted by the contractor sent to my home by the big box home improvement store that shall remain nameless...

I've also had Richard install a water heater in an emergency (and he did it on short notice on a Saturday!).

He's a totally stand-up guy and a reliable, tidy, courteous, and diligent contractor who goes out of his way to make sure the job gets done correctly. I'm happy to recommend him.

Richard Re-piped our 1100sq ft home in Oakland, Ca. He also installed a tank-less water heater. Him and his crew were fast and courteous and everything about the install was high quality. I recently just called Richard again as we are selling our home and needed a few plumbing issues fixed after the inspection (not related to the re-pipe). We had a limited time frame and Richard had no problem working within it. I would recommend Richard's P&H to anyone.

Richard and his crew did a blockbuster job installing a new furnace to replace the 60 year old gas guzzler and all my old vents. I have waited months to place this review, as I wanted to make sure no major issues came up, and they did not. First off, he is kind, genuine, and soft spoken. Very unlike most contractors or sales type people sent by the other bigger companies. His bid was also the most reasonable and he was on site the entire time, actually working with his two other guys. Obviously, I didn't sit and watch them work, but my entire project was about 3-4 days and every night it was incredible to see the progress being made. Just a minor point, but they also took cleaning up seriously. Not only nightly, but a very thorough exit clean. The install was well thought out as I went to a two zone heating system and the best part was the 100% completed on the estimated target date. I was provided with a run down of the install, city inspection passed easily, and they tested extensively before declaring ""mission accomplished"". I love the system so far, which we enhanced with a couple of NEST thermostats. I can't recommend him and his crew enough.

I cannot begin to express the gratitude and appreciation we have for Richard and his team. From the very first interaction with Richard, it was clear that he was knowledgeable about his craft. We came to understand that Richard was also fair, thoughtful, reasonable and honest. He provided a fair quote, not the lowest, and took the time to explain the costs and alternatives. We hired Richard and his team to replace our heating and plumbing (partially) systems and we could not be happier with the outcomes. His team treated our home like theirs and not like a worksite...a quote that Richard repeated on several occasions. They were punctual and completed the job in the agreed upon time frame. After competing the job, Richard took the additional time to walk me through all of the systems and has made himself available for questions, if any arise. We could not be happier with Richard and would eagerly recommend Richard for any plumbing or heating needs.

Richard and his crew recently installed a Gree ductless A/C and heat system in our home. He saved us $7000 by going with this system versus your standard central heat and air. He and his crew were nothing but professional and courteous 100% of the time. Richard has also been readily available for any questions/concerns since the installation. Would definitely recommend him for your heat and air needs!

Richard recently installed a new tankless water heater in my home. I wanted, and asked for, a more powerful unit. Richard persuaded me to go with a less expensive model saving me hundreds of dollars. I am very happy with the results. He has earned my trust. In addition his customer service manners are just superb. Can't recommend him enough.

Richard is great - he came by with his crew today to install a new gas-line and washer/dryer in my home. I actually had my phone on silent because I'm a Luddite and missed his call four times (an apparently a knock on the door). I was horrified and apologized, but Richard didn't even seem too mad about it - he came anyways and did a great job and even helped me with a little issue with my gas stove connection free of charge. His rate was very reasonable and he got the job done in just a handful of hours.
I will absolutely be calling Richard's Plumbing and Heating for any plumbing/gas issues I have in the future, and would highly recommend him to anyone.
