From the first call, Brandi H. was helpful and informative. The service was done by Henry B., and he worked for three hours to unplug our main drain, which was full of personal wipes left by the previous owner. Henry is clean, knowledgeable, and diligent, and welcome in our home anytime.
If this is any indication of the service offered, I recommend Jack Howk Plumbing and Rescue Rooter wholeheartedly.

It's past midnight and I attempt to do some DIY Shower faucet leak repair. Big mistake. Thanks a lot OCD and YouTube. I'll spare you the details here, but I will say water was leaking out at medium pressure and turning off the water valve in the house didn't stop it. The water meter valve outside wouldn't budge either (it hadn't been turned in years and it was freezing temp outside).

Some googling, a dozen or so phone calls led me to Jack Howk Rescue Rooter. A couple hours later he showed up at 3:30am! His name was Erik Guzman. This guy got out of his bed in the middle of the night and drove almost an hour to get to my place. This guy was super friendly and very helpful. I was completely floored when he told me he lived in a town that normally is an hour commute from my place to arrive and do service at 3:30am. Sure it was late and I was dead tired but this guy came when no one else would.

I highly recommend Erik and his company. This was a true emergency I needed to get done in the middle of the night and he got it done. Thanks Erik!

I called to get the kitchen sink unclogged. Before the technician came out I clearly asked that I would receive the $97 special. When they showed up they tried to upsell me products that I didn't need and just to snake the kitchen sink they charged me well over $200. On top of that they couldn't clearly tell me what the issue was that caused the drain issue. I would not use them again nor would I recomend their service.

My elderly mother had flooding in her home during heavy rains. I called to see what they could do and the price. Their customer service is terrible. No one could give me a price or even a guess. My mom is on a tight budget and needed to know upfront the est. cost. I had to call a different company. The person who answered the phone all so did not know any thing about plumbing.

I made an appointment with them for the same day I called. They communicated with me checking in. They let me know their technicians were busy and would not be on time which I appreciated. When they called again, I asked if they could give me an estimate of how long it might be. She said she can't reach their technicians to find out as they are in the middle of jobs.

So I waited, and waited and never heard back. Now 3 hours after they were supposed to be there I haven't heard another word from them. If you value your time and want the job done I don't think this is the company. They are not reliable.

I've had a chance to utilize the rescue rooter service for a addressing a leaky faucet in the bath tub. Essentially the nature of the job was to replace a faulty cartridge. In the past I had tried to repair the faucet myself but being a novice I couldn't get the dripping to stop completely and hence had to call these guys to come in and help. My recommendation is not to go with these guys. The charges are atrociously expensive. For what was a 5-10 minute job and for cartridges that cost $10 a piece I was charged $190 which I think was beyond reasonable. If you're not in a hurry to get your plumbing jobs done, please look out for a different plumbing service. The good thing about the rescue rooter service is that they answer calls 24/7. The charge for the service performed is at best mediocre.

Be ware, this place is sketchy! I knew when the plumber told me that if I had any problems In the next month, then it was gonna get real expensive . And of course I did. This company obviously doesn't guarantee their work, also when my problem reoccurred, they would not give me any guidelines over the phone on how I would be charged even with their prior work on my house. And the clincher, the next plumber did more extensive work, guaranteed their work, and charged me HALF of what I paid rescue rooter! I don't want anyone else to go through the crap I did!

I had a specific repair being a slow leaking flange to an old toilet at my 87 year old mother's house. I have done a lot of repairs in the past but I didn't want to mess with this one as I knew the parts for this were not necessarily common. The repair tech showed up and was nice. He quoted about $500 to do a ""major tank rebuild."" He did this before actually looking at the specific plumbing part in need of the actual repair. He explained that he had a book from which he was supposed to provide bids and that they typically didn't do work by the hour. If they did, he would have to charge $150 an hour. Ouch! We agreed that the total cost of parts was likely less than $40 which would have included a total replace of all internal tank parts whether they needed replacement or not. That left $460 for the pleasure of his company for about an hour. Not interested! He then wanted to write up a bid anyway which I politely declined. He then asked me to sign his blank estimation sheet. I reminded him that we were not doing business and I wasn't going to sign anything. He eventually left. The point here is that Jack Howk comes prepared to sell package deals at a gross premium. While the tech was nice, I would fear that people less familiar with home repairs could easily be misled.

DO NOT CALL THESE PEOPLE! Told us mainline clear would cost $99. Right before sending someone over they hit us with a ""Oh, by the way, did you know there's a $150 trip charge?"" Arrrrrgh! Hate it when the call taker doesn't know what's going on.

We had a kitchen drain (with garbage disposal) that was backing up. Something obviously lodged in the pipe, the sort of job that takes about 10 minutes with a snake.

Called these guys and they sent someone out promptly. He checked the drain and quoted us a price of about $400 (!) to ""really clear it thoroughly"" because it was ""likely there was lots of sludge down there."" I said I wouldn't pay that much. He said he could do the ""second best"" procedure (i.e., stick a snake down there) for $290. I said I wouldn't pay that either. He asked ""well, what were you thinking of paying?""

I should've kicked him out of my house right then but I said ""under $200"" and let him go back to his truck to ""call the boss"" (I'm sure) and he came back and quoted me $202.

He did the job with a snake and of course there was no ""sludge down there."" But I felt ripped off paying $200 for this job.

It's my own fault for letting him do it at that price, but that doesn't mean I can't warn others that these guys are highway robbers trying to get whatever they can. You'll do better elsewhere.
