Recommended Customer Reviews

I rarely take the time to write reviews. The fact that I am doing so reflects my complete dissatisfaction with this company. This company sold us a new a/c unit in April. In June it went out. We called on a Monday. The tech came on Tuesday, said it needed a part, and he would be back. I expected him Wednesday, but he didn't come. I called Thursday and was promised a call back with an update. It did not happen. I called Friday morning. Again I was told I would definitely get a call back with an update. She said """"I promise you I will call"""". She didn't call. At 4 pm on Friday, I called again and asked to speak to a manager. I explained the fact it had gone out after two months. I explained I had called twice and had not been given the courtesy of a call back. She told me they would be there on Tuesday, as their schedule was full on Monday. Wouldn't you think with a two month old unit going out and this incredibly poor customer service department not calling back twice, they would do everything possible to get out there quickly??? Obviously they are more concerned about working in paying customers than taking care of warranty customers. Find another heating and air company would be my recommendation

I promised the Reliable team a good rating if we had a successful install and sell. They came through . 1 . My 80 yr old mom had Brand x come out to quote a new a/c system and offer the best recommendation for her needs. 2 Being Mom, she bought the first pitch , wrote check , then told me. 3 I strongly suggested her to get 2 other quotes and compare . Cancel the friars order. She did 4 We then called Reliable. On time, immediate response , great service techs. With a $5k savings over quote 1, a bigger more energy efficient unit, bigger brand name - TRANE! we bought it. No need for quote 3. All research showed this was a good deal. 5 In 2 days now, it is installed, working great, 10 yr warranty- we trust Reliable. Very happy customer! Will update with names! 5.

AC went out on July 2nd.. couldn't get anyone to come out to our house until July 5th. Kinda makes those fancy service contracts if theirs worthless and un""""reliable"""" when that's the best they can offer.

We bought a new 1.5 ton Trane home SC unit from them, and installed on 6May14. Although it worked at first, it swiftly stopped blowing cool air, frequently not cooling below the ambient outside air. The first tech, visiting on 18June (with the system blowing 80+ degree air) claimed it was a dirty (new) filter. Second call last week on 25 June. The tech claimed it was blowing hot due to a blocked line, which he blew down and left after begging us to rate him highly. Next call on SAT 38JUN, 2 days ago. The new outside compressor unit makes clattering/clanking noises. Gus, the on duty tech supervisor, responded swiftly to our angry complaint, and replaced elements of the upstairs air handler and promised to order a replacement compressor. He assured us that with the new systems, they won't cool as well as older units did (no more than an 18 deg or so differential, normally) but with improved drying for comfort. Hmm. I'm writing this at three AM on 1JUL14, with an outside air temp of 70.4 degrees and an upstairs temp of 80 degrees and a unit set to auto which hasn't apparently run in hours (its NOT iced up). Yep, we're turning off this useless new system. We've spent four thousand dollars and taken off several afternoons from work for an inop system. The Reliable folks are polite, but the reliability and quality of the Trane equipment they supply is poor, as installed. I've yet to hear an offer to compensate us for lost work time and trouble. My advice: don't use them.

Reliable, the name says it all. Over the last couple years I have had Reliable out for several things. They have rezoned my home with a dual zone heating and cooling system, rewired the entire downstairs electrical, added a few outlets, replaced my hot water heater and finally just took care of the attic insulation. I have stopped searching for any of the services that Reliable offers., I just call them and have the work done. Every time someone from Reliable has come over they are very respectful, they explain everything and take care of my home as I expect. I have had several other companies out for various services but no one has been able to provide service at the level Reliable can. From the quote to the finished product I have never had any issues at all. I will always go to Reliable for anything that they offer!

Our upstairs air conditioning went out. We have used Reliable before for annual maintenance and they have been fine. This time it was terrible. Made apt for the next day, Wednesday at 1pm, they showed up at 7pm. Tech said he needed to check warranty and order part, will come back Friday or Saturday. No follow up call. We called them Saturday and said parts department is closed we can have someone come out on Wednesday at 3. We said no, that is a full week and we have been without air conditioning in 80+ degree weather. They said ok we'll send someone today (Sat) at 3 or 3:30. 5pm and no call and no show. We called back and said forget it. I then ordered the control board from Amazon for $135 instead of the $385 Reliable was going to charge. It is easy enough to replace myself. I will never use reliable again. They should change their company name to Unreliable.

6 appointments: 3 no call-no shows 3 late between 30 minutes to hour and a half without a notice I picked """"Reliable"""" because of all the positive online reviews. The inspection visit went well. I trusted those guys and agreed to pay several thousand dollars to solve a complicated insulation issue in my house. The jobs were contracted out to other companies that were courteous and respectful once they were here. They did what seemed to be a good job but now I still have parts of the house that are unusable in the summer without an additional window AC unit. The worst part is the scheduling and value. Almost every time I had to call and make sure they will show up. They would run late and I would lose days out of my office just waiting on them to be late for their 2 hours windows. I asked to cancel after the first 2 missed appointments but they were apologetic and offered a discount so I kept using them. Finally, they missed an appointment to fix my AC so I canceled (after at least 1 week of trying to get the job done). I called another company and they had my AC up and running within hours of my first call FOR HALF THE PRICE Who knows how overpriced the insulation job was. They charge close to $100 per pound of R22. The alternative company charged me $45

The scheduling department sent the tech to the wrong address. We rescheduled but I was not the first stop on his list. Of course he was delayed and did not make my appointment. After giving this company 4 1/2 hours of my life, all they could say was """"We're sorry"""". The only reliable thing they've done is admit that they are sorry. DO NOT use this company if you value your time.

I imagine if the job is easy, they'll be pretty good. I'm not impressed with the customer service that I received in begging them for a quote. When the technician came to the house he tried to get the system to come on and eventually caused more damage. I wasn't upset at all because the system was a repaired/patched system that was 12 years old. My condo uses a very strange system that's installed inside a storage closet. The man collected my $89 and said they would get back to me with a quote. After a week I called them because they had never called me. I spoke to a John Zant who said he wanted to send someone out to the house again for pictures. I explained that I would be glad to send some myself via email to speed the process. I emailed the pictures on May 12. He said he got them and would let me know something before the end of the day. Today is May 28 and I had a new system installed by Estes Heating and Air this past Thursday. Reliable, I understand you probably never called the only 2 manufactures that make my unit, but you really should have called me back if you didn't want to mess with it. I also, had the hot water heater replaced too since it was 12 years old.

I tried unsuccessfully to install a new kitchen sink two days ago...a friend of mine had referred me to Reliable when I had a heating issue and when I found out they did plumbing too I called them back. Cannot remember who took my initial call (sorry!) but she was super nice and managed to get me worked in. Jamie (sp?) P. was my plumber - he did an awesome job and he also made my dog feel like he was """"helping."""" Would def recommend these guys. (btw tried to figure out how to upload a pic of my dog supervising while Jamie was under the sink but couldn't figure it out).
