I wish that I had called Reid & Pederson first. I had a major sump pump drainage issue and had dealt with 2 plumbers and the city prior to getting a referral to Reid & Pederson. No one could seem to solve the problem. I was at my wit's end, frustrated, and broke from plumbers coming out, not finishing the job, and racking up plumbing bills with no solution in sight. Reid & Pederson came up with a quick and affordable solution to my problem and put this plumbing nightmare to rest finally. I found them to be quick to respond, professional, knowledgeable, and able to work within what was left of my tattered budget. Purchased a home in Chicago South Suburbs and quickly discovered sewage backing up and leaking pipes all throughout the house whenever toilets were flushed or showers/sings ran. Discovered sewage line had been cut and water was exiting the house and going directly into the ground & backing up into the house rather than to/through the sewer line. After canvassing several major drainage companies, including exorbitantly priced Roto Rooter - and after a nightmare experience with our home warranty repairmen, who didn't clean up after themselves, splashed sewage water all over the AC unit because they didn't cover it with a tarp before they got started, and broke our heating unit - I discovered local businessmen Reid & Pederson. I quickly learned that Reid & Pederson were completely transparent, knowledgeable and communicative about what they would do and how they would do it, clean/tidy & professional, and were honest about their capabilities, billing and warranties. Their rates were on par with other local sewage/plumbing companies (except Roto Rooter which wanted 7 times the local rate), but they were the clear choice because there was absolutely NO bate and switch re availability, estimates and warranties, NO song and dance with cameras, NO upsale AND they completed the job efficiently and swiftly. I highly recommend them and will definitely use them again if/when I have plumbing issues.

I called Reid & Pederson originally to come look at a drainage issue at my mothers house. The guy we talked to was very nice at first and gave us a time frame from 1pm-4pm. No one ever showed up. No one called us to say they couldn't make it or anything. My mother went ahead and called the office and the lady was extremely rude and sounded like we inconvenienced her. I'll take my business elsewhere.

To be clear up front, Reid and Pederson did not do any work on my house. This review is about their (inaccurate) website and (poor) communication.

I needed some sewer rodding work done on my house. My local plumber suggested another company, but my boss indicated that company did a poor job for her. So I set out to find someone else local. Did a search for my little town and ""sewer rodding.""

Reid and Pederson not only came up, but their site LISTED my town as an area they service. ""Cool!"" I thought. They have largely positive reviews in many places. ""Even better!"" I thought. Their site even stated they would give a quote so there would be no surprises. ""YES!"" I was thinking at this point. ""Good deal - looking forward to having them work for me."" I reached out to them on their website contact form, asking them to please get back to me about someone coming out to let me know what services I'd fully need done and a quote.

24 hours later? NO response. (Yes, I checked my Junk Mail. I do every day.)

""Okay"" I thought, ""They do have an online chat on their site. I'll try that."" Interfaced with ""Jennifer"" on that, she got some basic ""What services do you need?"" info from me. She also asked the exact address I live - I provided it, with zip code. She said NOTHING about that being an issue (this is important for later.) Then she asked for my phone number in case they couldn't reach me by email. I said, very clearly, ""OUTSIDE of work hours it is okay to call me after 4:30 pm at this number.""

Did this happen? No... no it did not.

First of all, I still never got an email from Reid and Pederson. And not only did I get a call before 4:30 pm, I got TWO phone calls. The first message was, ""Hi - please call us back."" The second - FIFTEEN MINUTES LATER (and still an hour before 4:30) said, ""Hi - sorry about this, but we do not service your area.""

Huh. So, not only has this company wasted my time by saying they DO service my area on their website, they don't listen to VERY clear instructions on how potential customers ASK to be contacted due to work concerns.

How would they also listen to you when you ask them to do something for your plumbing? I don't know, but they won't find out from me now, even if they reach out to me to say the will service my area. I'll find someone who actually listens and responds to the customer and doesn't provide inaccurate info on their website.

YMMV. Hope you have better luck than I did with them. And they should update their website to take off the areas they list that they do not actually service.
