Called because of a stench in my home I thought was coming from the air vent in one room. Technician said the stench """"hit him in the face"""" when he opened the AC unit, and that our ducts were full of """"biological growth."""" A Red Cap consultant came late in the day and said the same thing, then quoted us an outrageous price for total replacement of all equipment/ducts (I'll just say it was the price of a vehicle). Called another company for a second opinion and he insisted I come along with him as he checked the unit. Unit smells FINE, works FINE, the ducts have some dust but no mold/mildew, and either the tech or the consultant had knocked the drainage line loose and started a leak that had been dripping into our ceiling for 24 hours. Some investigation revealed the stench was coming from our chimney/fireplace and just circulating into the AC system. Spent a couple hundred dollars for wildlife removal to come deal with the dead bird in the chimney. A few days later, Red Cap sent me the quote.... except it was for a totally different customer/amount. LOL. Avoid these people.

Scan of a business. Had three of there workers come out for the same problem and they all told me something different was wrong and every time they come they tell me all of the things that are wrong and that I just fix right away.

I just got quoted $2300.00 to connect my Weber Natural Gas grill to my already pre-plumbed patio gas outlet on my new home. Insane price for a simple gas grill hook up. Not in this lifetime. I paid the $89.00 dollar dispatch fee and said goodby. I've lived in Florida 40 years and am a business owner myself. Outrageous!

I can't believe these people! 2 days after our Yelp review of Jan 16, '23 that also went to Red Cap's FB page, they send this to Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Now we have proof of 2 Red Cap Execs lying to 2 Government investigators. The Controller saying the charge was for all the items and they did them. The Plumbing Manager, in an e-mail to a Pinellas County Investigator, saying """"The invoice auto populates those items based on the task code. All are 'if needed'"""". He knows darn well that Red Cap Plumbing did not fulfill this contract. He told us they don't have to do what they promise. It is not us trying to """"renegotiate the contract""""! Red Cap took the money from the bank, on a credit card they opened, on an estimate of 2 days before they even came to do the work- then did not do what was on the estimate. They never reached out to us! We never refused a refund for work not done! They never offered to do the concrete work; the worker said """"we don't do cement"""". They refused to break down the invoice so we could dispute the charges with the bank for work not done. That is why we talked to several other plumbers. The highest price we could find for the 4 items of work that they did was $2,600 and that was if the work was done properly, as promised. Which it wasn't. They used a bladed chain instead of the promised, on 3 documents, sand paddle, which would have been safe for our ABS plastic pipes. Mr. Wetherell ignored this part of our complaint filed with FDACS. The price was $7,648, we had paid them $400 which they discounted off the price and charged on the card $7,248. They were here for 4 hours for $7,648 and are saying that this is """"fair"""". We have every right to report unfair and deceptive trade practices. The truth is not slander. This letter to FDACS is slander and illegal- you cannot make false statements in writing with the intent to mislead a public servant in the performance of his official duty. Both these Red Cap Execs did exactly this. Their lies are public record. They can trade their red caps for an orange jump suit! Don't just Yelp-report them to Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation! Mediation does not work with these people! We tried our best for 3 months!

Just had to repair a wax seal on our toilet that was leaking. Nathaniel P. from Red Cap was our technician. For only being 25 years old he was knowledgeable well beyond his years. He was very knowledgeable, professional, and a pleasure to talk with. He explained every option we had and when we decided on one he executed the service perfectly. I would definitely hire him if I was running my own company. I work in a service industry business and I really appreciated his professionalism and honesty. He took the time to fully explain the situation and the solutions. This is the second time we have used Red Cap and each time their employees and technicians have been exceptional. And their work has been flawless. I truly trust them for any plumbing needs we might have in the future.

Red Cap Plumbing was called, because I thought my water heater was leaking. I live in Valrico, FL. They then advised me that the leak was coming from the copper pipes that run underneath the foundation. They offered me two choices - repair the leak, but advised that the leak could reoccur in another area of the house. The latter alternative was to re-do the plumbing, and run the pipes through the attic. I took the latter option (big mistake). Well, the pipes aren't insulated, so in the summer, you have to run the water for 5-10 MINUTES to get cold water. The inverse is true when there is chilly weather during winter. The foreman, John, estimated the job for 2 days. They did the job in one day, but took some """"shortcuts"""". In the bathroom, they drilled holes in the counter, to run the pipe to the sink. They should have run the pipe in the wall behind the counter, to reach the sink. This job was done in 2017, but I wanted to run some irrigation to my garden, the other day. Pressure is too low on outside faucets to be of any use for irrigation. My advice is do not use this company. They over-charge, and under-perform.

We had contracted to have all our lines hydro-scrubbed and Picote lined as a preventative measure. Had some minor annoyances 1) they did not call prior to arrival as promised 2) didn't restore the exterior to how it looked before they started, 3) never received a copy of our contract 4) never got the promised before/after video. Major Issues included: 1) Flooded my main bath and hall with sewer overflow (never cleaning up the disgusting mess in the toilet and tub! pics below). 2) Never cleaned the overflow on the closet floor in the bathroom so it sat there for hours on our new LVT (I asked if there would be any overflow and they they assured me there would not be!). They did a cursory cleaning of the floors but since is seeped under the LVT I am sure it will be gross soon or lifting the floor since there is no way to clean between/under the LVT where this overflow seeped. They told me this overflow was from a """"low flange"""" but we NEVER had any issue with that toilet. To their credit they did give me a flange cover. 3) They did not hydro the kitchen lines that were in contract (they didn't bother to read the work scope) and when I asked about it they told me it was too late since the Picote could not get wet - they said they will come back next week to do, I don't have much confidence with that. 4)First flush of the toilet in the master bath and its leaking! (do we call them back - still waffling on that). For $7000 I expected more professional work. I had great hopes as the """"estimator"""" Jonathan was good but I am beyond disappointed!

There are 3 big reasons why I am extremely angered from this encounter. 1. He got there around 7-8pm est. That is in the evening and I had a very serious leak going on. He wasn't late, but I was hoping he knew it was a tense situation. When he got here he was cracking jokes and sharing stories as water was flooding out of the broken pipe. And I didn't respond with the same lightheartedness, but honestly everyone is different so I let it go. Than as the conversation went on he started developing a condescending attitude on top of still throwing around a very disrespectful casual attitude where I would ask serious questions and he would just respond with a joke that forced me to ask again if this is what he meant. I eventually had to call 911 because he wouldn't give me a straight answer on how to contact the city's emergency line because he couldn't fix the issue himself after talking down to us about how he can fix it. 2. He gave us an outrageous and criminal quote and after I told him no, he started to shut down and instead of just leaving he stuck around and kept a very casual attitude when it was crystal clear I didn't appreciate it. (He also didn't even email me the receipt, I had to call the office). 3. He than left his company tools in the yard which we were nice enough to hold for him. We called him back and at this point it was almost 9 or 10pm I believe. When he got there and I handed him the tools, and I noticed that he had broken the valve in the ground (city property) by twisting too hard (which was fine because the city came out and replaced it and they would have had to regardless of whether or not he broke it) but than he took the tools with a neutral face and didn't say thank you either. He just looked upset for us doing him a favor and letting him know he left company tools here. I understand it was a bad situation but I can't understand why he couldn't have been more respectful and less condescending during a late night, very tense situation. It's one thing to joke around when you meet someone, but it's a choice to keep doing it after it's clear the other person doesn't appreicate it. I think as a plumber he is qualified, but his customer service skills SPECIFICALLY during tense situations leaves a lot to be desired. I won't be using red cap plumbing and air. I will be telling those who ask for recommendations to look else where. It really made a nightmare night into a worse one. I truly feel that I wasted 80 dollars, my emotional well being, 2 hours of my time, and a massive amount of water. PS - PLEASE READ - I would like to say the office staff and customer service I received over the phone was a little They were polite but extremely slow in the refund process by not addressing the case. The manager after being 14 days late was not friendly or apologetic at all. He spat out an apology with the tone of annoyance that this was somehow caused by me. Than he doubled the time to give me refund to 14 days when before it was 7 days. 1 star for the office staff as well. Krystal though was 10/10. She was exceptional. But the manager was not

Michael and Luke were great and showed up everyday on time and ready to get to work on my repipe. They kept me informed during the entire process and kept a great attitude even when faced with an unexpected issue that they had no control over, but need to figure out a solution to the problem. I was really impressed. A repipe can be intrusive, but their techniques and skill made it look easy with minimal destruction to my home.

These guys are the worse. Was roughly about a year ago they installed my unit. Thought they did an okay job. Back then my unit to control my air handler was stolen and returned. The mess they made in the attic was cleaned up, kinda. But just looked in my attic for another reason (separate issue) found out I've been cooling my attic. Nothing about my experience with Red Cap felt right nor have I ever felt this level of unexplainable doubt it's such a letdown that the failures of thier work keep coming forth. The theft and mess left behind was one thing, but after time has passed and now I'm chilling down my attic in Flordia of all places. Unbelievable so much trust was unfortunately given to a subpar outfit.
