Red Cap Plumbing made us victims of Senior Price Gouging. They charged us $293.00 to replace a wax seal and calk a toilet. It was a late Friday afternoon, for a tenant, a couple with four children. We were over a barrel and could not deny our tenants the service of a toilet. Had it been for my own residence, I would have asked the technician to leave. When I called to complain, while stating that Lowes charges $129.00 for the same service, I was told """"we are not Lowes"""", I was then """"dismissed"""". My husband and I are both Viet Nam Veterans, and are elderly. When I said that to management, I was also told, """"that does not matter"""". Obviously. Avoid this rip off business at all costs.

I went to fix our kitchen faucet this past weekend and when I went to shut off the hot water valve under the sink, I also turned off the hot water line running to the dishwasher. Being old, that valve started leaking quite a bit. It was a soldered on valve and I don't own a torch to unsolder it, so I panicked a bit (I usually can fix most things in the house myself since I grew up helping my handyman Dad) and called a plumber...Red Cap Plumbing. They came about 6 hours later (an hour past the scheduled time). The person was pleasant and was able to quickly (between 15-20 minutes) replace the old valve. I have no problem with the quality of the work...but the cost was absolutely ridiculous. The total came to 332.70! That is for a part anyone can buy for around 10.00 and about 20 minutes of work! I realize it was on a weekend so they charge an """"'after hours"""" fee of 80 dollars, but even then that price is highway robbery. While I am glad to have a skillfully replaced shutoff valve under my kitchen sink, I will never call this plumbing company again due to the astronomical pricing.

Outrageous pricing, 4 hours after I called to request a minor repair a technician comes out with an attitude and begins to argue about pricing after showing up late. Do not use this company. Don't wait hours until you have no other option. Never, ever again. And I will tell everyone I know not to use this place. You only get screwed over once.

""""Our highly trained and professional staff are eagerly waiting to serve you"""". You've seen this statement before, but in the case of Red Cap Plumbing it's true. I called Red Cap at midnight last night because I had a main line sewer blockage between my house and the street. The first thing this morning Nick showed up to get me draining again. He sat down with me and explained what my options were to resolve my problem. I found Nick to be straightforward and knowledgeable about my situation. I found the rate I paid for his services (and for future visits if needed) to be very reasonable. And I mean reasonable. Lets face it, if you can't take a shower or flush a toilet, what's that worth to you? I read as many reviews as I can on goods and sevices before I part with my money and I hope you find this one helpful. I would not hesitate to call Red Cap again. The first sentence of this review says it all.

Home re-pipe & New Supply Line Price: Fair (6000-7000) Service: Excellent Communication: Excellent Job Scope: New water service line, re-plumb 2 full bath, kitchen island sink and dishwasher, water heater, water softener connections. Future state of water heater location after switch to natural gas. They were not the cheapest but weren't the most expensive either. They were the most responsive, very quick to respond to questions or concerns through the entire job. The installers went out of their way to make sure the job wasn't just done, but met my expectations. There were many adjustments to the job as we went along. For example, water heater is in my garage but I was in the process of converting to natural gas tankless which would have been outside. They adjusted the location of the lines to allow for an easy switch when the time came. Few jobs ever go as planned and this was no exception. Was planned for 2 days but took 4. There was a leak in a wall in the master bed/bath and a worker who stepped through the ceiling in the kitchen along with other smaller obstacles. In a job like this such things are almost unavoidable. I have to say that in each instance they took care of it and made it right. They performed an emergency fix on the leak and sent a clean up company to dry everything out to insure no mold. They sent a drywall repair person to fix the hole in the ceiling along with several other items. In order to avoid breaking up the tile in my kitchen, the installer, Dago, created a water jet to tunnel under the tile preserving the look of the kitchen.

Service and quality were fine. They should have been for the most expensive installation of a kitchen sink and faucet I've ever seen. Receipt included some kind of membership fee I never asked for. Also was not itemized so I'm not sure how I'll use the lifetime warranty on my Moen faucet. Called for an itemized receipt and to ask about the """"membership """" charge and no one returned my call. 4 star service but at a 10 star price Update, they asked for an email to address my concerns. Sent it. No response.

Saw an ad in newspaper and called them about changing my shower control knob. Had them do it. Price was reasonable $1200.00. Other places wanted to replace my whole shower unit for $9300.00. Works great now and my arthritic hands don't hurt adjusting knob. Thank you

They are very expensive for few inches of exposed leaking pipe repair he wanted $530.00 then I told him that is too expensive for the job and he gave me 10% discount so I paid $430.00 for few inches of pipe replacement . Very very expensive.Won't recommend.
