The year 1973 marked the beginning, Roy Sanders started Sanders Plumbing and Heating by employing a single pickup truck. Roy operated from his home with his firstborn son Ed. The following year, 1974, his son Tom finished high school and joined the trade together with his dad and brother.
As the business grew, Roy purchased a property in North York, a former early 1900's cigar factory, and with much loving care, the space evolved into the home of R.E. Sanders Inc, Plumbing, HVAC, and Electrical.
Roy dedicated himself to the trade for more than 43 years. His commitment and effort was instilled into his family including one daughter, six sons, eighteen grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren. It is with his cherished spouse Dolores they formed this beautiful family together.
Tom shares ownership at R.E. Sanders, Inc. together with his dad Roy. A York native, Tom grew up here and currently lives with his family: wife Kathi, daughter Kasey, and son Daniel. Tom completed his education at York Catholic High School and possesses a Master Plumbing license. Tom has dedicated his career in the family business for four decades. Tom likes to coaching soccer, horseback riding along with riding motorcycles.

Most recently, they were called for a second opinion when another company suggested that I replace my unit that was frozen over. Sanders quickly diagnosed and corrected the issue for a fraction for the price. They earned my trust and future business.

In fact when they installed my sensor lighting they saw how horrible the filter set up was on our in line water filter set up for the house. They ask me if I would like it to be put in with more stability. I was thankful they ask and immediately said yes. They secured the filter so it no longer took two people and still had a chance to break the line if we did not counter the other persons strength properly. I was very pleased with the timely appointments and desire to do a job properly.

I called them to replace the pump in my old well - they collapsed the well doing that, and used some sort of tamper to tamp it back down (which added about $1000+ to the cost they quoted me) AND my water was never drinkable after that (it stayed muddy). I called at least 4 times - my calls were never returned. 7 months later my well died again.
Today, in the course of having a new well drilled, I learned that Sanders had installed a sensor that shut off the pump when the pressure became low, BUT had to be turned back on MANUALLY (down in the well pit, underground) - which they never bothered to tell me. So I was without water for almost 6 weeks while I waited for the new well-drilling company to get to my drilling job.
If I had known about that manual switch I could have had water while I waited
I did not give them a bad review initially, trying to be fair. I also didn't think it was possible to be LESS satisfied with their work -- today I learned that it was very possible
