I observed that my furnace produced a funny noise and saw the R & S Plumbing & Heating sticker on it. I called them, and they came out promptly to check the issue, telling us that it needed a part.
They wanted to know if we were willing to pay more, and we decided to. Then an earthquake occurred, so we opted to delay until things returned to normal before checking about the progress of the work.
They looked to be missing our records and looked bewildered by my wife's call, but ultimately located the part in their office. They stated that they were occupied with other client jobs related to the earthquake and didn't elaborate.
The following day, I contacted again to ask for the timeline and talked to Rich. He was not very friendly and looked taken aback that I would even ask when they would finish the job. I understand that other homes may have greater problems, but it is not unreasonable for them to give a schedule on when they plan to return and address our furnace.
Choosing the fast shipping felt unnecessary, and Rich was disrespectful and just unpleasant in general. He asserted that he is the manager of R & S, so I suggest steering clear of them altogether. Numerous other companies out there that provide better service when you contact them. He should look for other work where he doesn't have to interact with people because effective customer support can be very impactful.

I recently experienced an incredibly distressing experience with a driver from R & S Plumbing & Heating. I am still in shock from this man's utter disregard for basic decency.
I have not returned to Eagle River after the new McDonald's opened. I have visited their parking lot my entire life. Thus, I was surprised that they'd changed to two lanes for entering and exiting when I drove into the designated lane on Eagle River road. A vehicle leaving the space which obscured my sight of the sign indicating the exit in my view. I maneuvered next to them as they exited with ample space.
At that moment, I met this vehicle from R & S Plumbing. He indicated the clearly visible exit sign, now clearly visible beside my vehicle. I promptly made an apologetic gesture before motioning, requesting he reverse a bit and allow me to pass.
A little empathy would imply the following response: it was clear I was unaware of the new layout, therefore, he could have easily moved back to allow me to enter. This would help me understand the new setup that the parking lot structure has changed.
That is not what this man did. No. He folded his arms and dismissed my request and chose to teach me a lesson. He declined to back up the small amount it would have taken for me to enter the parking area without issue. Rather, he compelled me to reverse into busy traffic on the crowded thoroughfare through Eagle River.
At that moment, I am dumbfounded that this man lacked all compassion and put me in a perilous position because he was unwilling to budge. By then, I'm distressed that I, a pregnant woman with my mother was faced with gunning it to get to safety. At this point, I'm absolutely baffled that he REFUSED to move a few feet to let me pass.
And it doesn't end there. He returned and waited for me to go through the drive-thru so that he could shout at me! That's right. He drove back around, stopped, and remained until I exited. I grabbed my phone, snapped a photo of him, which he reciprocated, and began to drive away. Once again, he drove the wrong direction for sake of getting my picture. Nobody else paid any attention. He stepped out of his van and trailed me in the lot to further berate me.
Ultimately, I exited McDonald's feeling shaken and tearful, feeling far more stressed than is healthy. I will never use R&S Plumbing & Heating again. He embodies the issues we face in society, putting others at risk because he was unwilling to be courteous. I began my day in utter disbelief and trying to calm down. My child does not deserve this kind of anxiety.

I am inclined to rate them between three and four stars. I am willing to invest in a complete overhaul of my heating system at home and hot water system. I had an issue with air trapped in my hydronic heating system. I experienced great service during that single appointment.
I tried to set up appointments, leaving my job early and commuting home and staying put, then calling repeatedly, only to be ignored by R & S Plumbing & Heating.
I am very disappointed that they failed to contact me to either cancel on the day or simply express regret for not being able to make the service call. What I needed was for someone to provide me with an estimate for some repairs. This is not very professional.
If you can get them to your place, I am sure you will be pleased. Please share your experience. In the meantime, I will be calling someone else.

I had R & S Plumbing & Heating install a new water heater more than a year ago and was assured during the sales pitch that this water heater was the top choice and would be without issues for many years; well that lasted for about 15 months!
Our water heater stopped working more than a week ago and when I called for the owner, I was met with resistance routinely by a impolite, inconsiderate individual who identified himself as Trent. I requested that Don call me back on three different times, but never received a call.
I finally called again and naturally, got Trent, and he informed me he would make an appointment for the following week! When I reiterated that we had no hot water and that was not okay, he responded that they could come sooner but that it would be charged at a premium! He also stated that my family would also have to be charged for the defective part!
Therefore, potential customers, if you want a reliable product with solid support, I recommend seeking alternatives. I would not suggest this company!

I do not rely on R & S Plumbing & Heating. The team told us that the cost based on time and materials could be cheaper than getting a bid... around 300-400 dollars if we did a lot of the preparation, which we indeed did.
After the job, I was shocked when we saw the invoice. The total was for $1010.00. Nearly triple what R & S Plumbing & Heating had quoted. I asked about it, and the representative was gracious enough to deduct an hour of work for a single two guys there, which was not disclosed to us there would be two... for a job meant for one person.
I had estimates for 500 dollars without any of our work doing any work, but the technician made it appear to be a more attractive option. Our team would have never agreed to R & S Plumbing & Heating doing the job if we had known it would be over $500.00.
Throughout the job, the worker didn't even tell me that he believed the cost would exceed the $300-$400. Myself would have asked him to cease and we would have done the job by ourselves. We are more than capable of completing the task, but we assumed 400 dollars would be a fair price of not having to handle it. What a scam!!!!

I asked R & S Plumbing & Heating for a price. It took them four hours and thirty minutes to replace a flange in the upstairs bathroom.
I was billed the full hourly rate for four hours, even though they had to go get parts, while fixing the same issue. They finished the job in three hours, which included the trip for parts during lunch time, yet the toilet leaked, so they spent another hour figuring out the mistake.
All parts were standard and were expected to be in the truck. They should have charged at 2 to 2.5 hours.

I have just settled in Alaska due to my job. I reached out to R & S Plumbing & Heating for a quote on plumbing services. Regrettably, I was met with unkindness and outright disrespect.
I have never encountered such unprofessional behavior before. Ultimately, I decided to hire Extreme Heat and Air. They were professional, efficient, and affordable.
I would not recommend R & S Plumbing & Heating. I was let down by their service. Extreme Heat and Air provided a much better experience.

I found the team at R & S Plumbing & Heating to be welcoming, expert and thorough. I am very satisfied with the placement of our new humidity control unit and the thorough guidance on how to operate it. The manner in which the technicians conducted the service was commendable. I would definitely recommend their services to others.

I was disappointed with R & S Plumbing & Heating because they performed additional work that I did not ask for. I ended up being billed for these unrequested services.
After they completed the job, a leak appeared the same day. It required significant persistence to have them come back and resolve the issue.
I cannot recommend R & S Plumbing & Heating.
They performed work beyond what I requested and charged me for it. Following their service, a leak developed on the same day. They were slow to come back and address the leak issue.
I would not recommend R & S Plumbing & Heating to others.
I was unhappy with R & S Plumbing & Heating because they did work I didn't request. They charged me for this additional work.
The same day they finished, I noticed a leak. It took a lot of effort to get them to come back and fix it.
I do not support R & S Plumbing & Heating.

I recently experienced a truly terrible incident with a employee at R & S Plumbing and Heating. I am quite upset due to this man's lack of human decency.
I have not returned to Eagle River after the new McDonald's opened. I've been pulling into their parking lot for as long as I can remember. So, I did not anticipate that the layout had changed to a dual lane system when I pulled into the suicide lane on Eagle River road. Another vehicle was exiting the lot, which hindered my view of the exit sign in front of me. Consequently, I maneuvered next to them as they left with ample space.
That's when, I encountered this plumbing van. The man pointed to the exit sign, now clearly visible beside my vehicle. I quickly made an "oh my goodness, I clearly didn't see that!" expression before motioning, asking if he would back up a few feet and allow me to pass.
Basic kindness would suggest the following response: the driver missed the new sign, I should just move back a bit and allow her to go. This way, she will understand for future reference that the parking lot structure is different now.
However, that was not his response. No. He crossed his arms and shook his head and chose I needed to learn a lesson. He refused to move the few feet it would have taken for me to get in the lot. Instead, he forced me to reverse into oncoming traffic on the crowded thoroughfare through Eagle River.
At this point, I am flabbergasted that this man had no compassion and forced me into a dangerous situation because he simply did not want to help. At that moment, I'm upset that I, a pregnant woman, accompanied by my mother, was forced to deal with speeding up to get to safety. At this point, I'm completely confused that he REFUSED move a few feet to let me pass.
The situation worsened! The man returned and sat and waited for me to go through the drive-thru so that he could scream at me! That's right. He came back, stopped, and remained until I came out. So I quickly took out my cell phone, captured an image of him, which he did in turn, and started to exit the lot. Again going against traffic for the sake of taking my photo. Nobody else paid attention to. And this man left his van and pursued me in the parking lot to persist in yelling at me.
Needless to say, I exited the McDonald's distressed and emotional, feeling overwhelmed. I refuse to engage with R & S Plumbing and Heating. This individual embodies the worst of society, forcing someone into a dangerous situation because he was too selfish to step aside. I'm starting my day absolutely horrified and working to regain my composure. This stress is not good for my baby.
