my water heater went out was to expensive to fix so we replaced it .kuhn gave us the best price and came out the next morning .upon arriving the first thing they said it would be more than qouted , but with no hot water for two days we said fix it .when done we had hot water, but the furnace did not work.they hit the off switch so everything was shut down .turned it back on , all good atleast for now.two weeks later no hot water . called kuhn and was greeted very rudely.told them i do not have hot water on my brand new water heater this is at 6:30 in the morning .she said with the holiday doesnt know when they would be out to look at it, again this is brand new .finally they came out and looked at it ,said someone turned it off aor put on low setting ,and tried to charge me 160.00 dollars we refused to pay ,told them they were the only ones down in the basement since it was installed . so im thinking since he was down there for about 20 minutes something else happened and they tried to charge .they do not back up their work .i think maybe i have a haunted furnance room or maybe my dog opened up the basement door turned the lights on went to the furnance room turned the water heater off and left ,turned all the lights off and went upstairs and shut the door . i will let you decide haunted , very talented dog , or something else .

Really disappointed in the service we received at this company. We were recommended this company by one of our neighbors and unfortunately did not have a good experience at all. We called them as our basement/sewer drains were backing up/overflowing. They ended up using the camera to figure out where the issue was. There was a clog that they cleared up for us, used the camera again to ""assure it was clear"" and we were then told that we should have no more issues. The problem is not even a month later and our sewer/basement drains are backing up AGAIN. We tried to call the company again to see if they had any sort of guarantee or even just to find out why this was happening again so soon, when we were initially told that we should have no more issues. When we called back because the issue was happening again ( not even a full month since they ""fixed"" our issue), they said that they had told us that we had a ""rough sewer drain"" and this was likely only a temporary fix (although we were not ever actually told this). During their initial visit, the two men that came to fix our sewer drains used a camera, ""cleared the clog"" and said that our drains were all cleared up. They showed my parents a video of ""our drains"" and it was completely black and nothing was visible. My parents being trusting , said they didn't know what they were looking at, but they trusted him if he said that it was fixed. He told them he guaranteed them it wouldn't happen again. When I called to talk to Rick he said that ""there is no guarantee"" and that his guys would've ""never said that it was guaranteed to be fixed"". Today we hired new plumbers due to the fact that there was no guarantee. The new company we hired told us that they completely neglected to check the two other drains that were in the basement. They were both clogged and were completely dirty. It took them about an hour to fix our problems and it cost half the price for a better job. I did try to speak with Rick (one of the owners) on the issue and he quickly became defensive and he had no resolution for me, not a ""let me help you fix this issue"", no ""I'm sorry"" Instead when I mentioned everything to him he said ""I'll make sure to never take you guys on as customers ever again"", not that we would ever want to use this company after the poor service and worse customer service. When I told him that I'd be posting a review on my poor experience and these scam /lazy at best services he stated ""and I'll respond to it"". Awaiting that response so he can continue to lie and say that they did everything correctly. An apology would have been a better way to go about this. I hope others think twice before utilizing this company, and if they do I hope your experience is better than the one we had!

Great service from the appointment made over the phone to the technician who completed our work. Two small project projects but sooo worth having a professional do the job.
Very happy!!! Thank you

Yesterday evening around 8PM my backup sump pump unit Nex Pump Ai alarmed with a code that said pump one vapor locked. I called the original installer of the unit which was less than three years ago to find out they do not offer emergency service but would call me back first thing in the morning. I saw RJ Kuhn on the manufacturers web-site so we called and left a message with the answering service. Not to long after that a gentleman by the name of Rick called. We explained the problem to Rick and he had an idea of how we could try and fix it over the phone so that we wouldn't be charged emergency service. Keep in mind that I could see the water in the sump pump slowly rising to a very high level. We did what Rick instructed and immediately the pump started to work and eject the water out of the pit. Rick saved the day. My newly finished basement would have been under water by morning if I had waited for the original installer to get back to me. By the way, Rick's last name is Kuhn. He is one of the owners of the company. He didn't have to try and talk us through this to fix the problem. To me this is the type of company you want working on stuff that many of us have no idea about. I would highly recommend R.J Kuhn based on this experience and hope that the Yelp Community will support them as well. Thank you Rick! Your professionalism and kindness was greatly appreciated.

Called in advance to make an appointment to have my humidifier checked. House was dry and didn't think it was operating properly. Was told they couldn't schedule a time (or a window) but would call the day of service to give me a time. No call on day of service. Called office and was told that there were a number of emergency calls for furnaces not working and those would take precedence. Couldn't guarantee a visit. Would call back later. So pre set scheduled appointments are not a thing here. Buyer beware, don't take off work.
Was phoned later at 1:00 to say tech on his way.
Then was called by someone else at 1:30 to say a different tech was on the way. Didn't know I was already called.. Tech Trevor arrived around 2. Told me the humidifier was never wired correctly and most likely had never worked. Installed in '07 with documented regular servicing by another company. Okay. Quoted me $631 to fix the wire and replace a faulty controller ""humidistat"".
$85 to connect the wire correctly and an additional $89 trip charge.
Cost for new controller- $439. Total $631.
Really???
A new humidifier online April Air 700 is $250. I could see 631 to replace the humidifier itself.
The controller? Staring at $14 online. $631 to replace that???
I understand mark up, Labor and profitability.
But $439 for a $14 replacement part? Plus labor plus trip charge. Come on!!!
Makes me wonder if I really needed that new motor/blower for the furnace on your last visit.
I Will go with someone honest and reputable next time..
You guys work on commission???? Ya I'm thinking so.
No thank you.
You got my $89 trip charge but you will never get my business again.

I have used them before and suddenly was faced with a water stream in my kitchen I couldn't shut down. At first I thought I could and Rick suggested they come on Monday to save some cost. After 7 hours of catching and dumping draining water, I realized it just wasn't stopping, I called Rick back and he sent someone over within an hour and all was fixed on a late Saturday night.
Thanks to R.J. Kuhn!

We had them come over to fix a shower. The plumber was professional and quick but the charges were quite high. We were charged $156.00 per hour which included the round trip. Google Maps estimates the round trip to be about 30 minutes. We were charged 1 hour. There are 2 types of replacement cartridges. The regular one which is made of plastic and costs about $32 and the heavy duty one (made of metal) which costs about $60. We got charged $75 for the plastic one. Total cost $350 to change a cartridge. Again, the plumber was professional and worked quickly and did the job correctly but I think the charges were too high.

They were a no-show for the day we scheduled for service. When I called, they said they had too many emergency calls and couldn't take care of their scheduled appointments. When I made the appointment, I was only the 2nd or 3rd appointment of the day, meaning nearly all their scheduled calls were abandoned for the day.
