Fantastic job. Problem wasn't fixed the first time. Second visit was scheduled in a very timely fashion and technician was professional and empathetic. He worked with our family regarding fees for the service. He was also informative and efficient. Would use this company again!
All fee, no service
3 weeks after calling Putman for help with a leaky bathroom faucet, a technician arrived to tell me I had a leak (Duh!) - $150 please! Though I asked about the part leaking, no detailed info was supplied (my own research later identified a quick-connect part). He left saying I would be contacted ""tomorrow"" in/re part availability. A week later I had to call them to find out that nothing had been addressed yet but, they'd get right on it. Several days later they did call back to say that the part was not available, I would need to replace the faucet.
In the mean-time, I contacted Delta Faucet. Not only was the part available, they shipped it to me for free. (It has since been installed, by me, in @ 15 minutes.) I paid $150 for the lessen learned.
I was aware of the service fee but, expected some type of ""service"". I paid $150 and received no service, other than what I had to prod out of them, and then, they either lied to me about the part availability or, were too inept/lazy to find it - same result. I feel taken advantage of.
Bottom line advice - unless you have money to flush down the toilet, do not call a ""professional"" plumber unless it is absolutely necessary. If you do need a plumber, do not call Putman.
I'd also like to take this opportunity to giver 5 Stars to Delta Faucet customer service - they were great!
Anne A.This business is flat out terrible. DO NOT USE. Tore apart our family's toilet and said ""I don't have the part."" He says we should get a new toilet and left it in shambles. We find the part online and he wouldn't complete the job. Absolutely useless, train wreck. We had to hire someone else to fix this, but of course we had to pay for the labor.
INSTEAD RECOMMEND: Frost & Kretsch
Ken L.We've had Putman & Son at our home several times for different jobs, fixing ballcock in toilet, opening drains, toilets augured, opening and replacing wet bar sinks, and every time they did a great job, in as little time as possible . And everything they did works well. I will recommend this company to anyone! They're courteous, respectful, and very professional workers.
Christine P.I would DEFINITELY NOT use this company. We could hear hissing in the corner of our pantry and the floor of the cabinet was damp, we knew we had a leak. Putnam sent 2 men out initially and they agreed that the leak was in the pantry. When they gave us an estimated for insurance purposes. When they came out to actually do the work, 2 other men came with diagnostic equipment and told us the leak was in my LAUNDRY room despite our telling them where WE could hear it. They broke the tile and dug up my laundry room only to find out it was NOT there. They then proceeded to break the tile in my PANTRY and dig up that floor to find the leak where we said it was. THEN, when I asked them to put my laundry room in working order they ADDED more $$ to my bill! Before they left, they told me that they were REQUIRED to do what they did! AND if I called back within 2 weeks they would ONLY charge me $115.00 per hour to hook up my laundry room sink! I am SO SORRY that I actually PAID THESE people. NEVER USE PUTNAM BROS PLUMBING!!!!
I do not recommend this company. They overcharged me for two simple jobs. It took 3 visits to repair a simple drip. Everytime they came was later than the allotted time frame causing me to miss work. The technician talked my ear off trying to explain the problem. This is the first time leaving a bad review ever. Please consider another company for your plumbing needs.
Rick L.I am selling my house and needed a basement sink fixed / replaced. The repairman arrived, looked at the fixture, made a call to his manager at the office and advised me that would be $150 for the trip charge and could not fix the problem. I asked that he call his manager back and see what they could do on the price.
He called the manager and they came up with the solution that he would go out and pick up the part.
The amount invoiced was $927.43. I priced two of the exact parts from Home Depot and one was marked up from retail 67% and the other 293%.
I called to ask for a courtesy credit of $200 as the price was egregious. Michelle said that she could offer me a senior citizen discount of 5% ($44.91). I said that was unacceptable and asked that the owner (Brent) call me back. So far after several attempts, I have not received a call back. Be careful if you're considering this organization.
I can't say enough about how satisfied I was with Putman & Sons, who were recommended to me after another local ""plumber"" (company name rhymes with ""mover"") completely botched what I hired him to do, resulting in the second flood in my basement in six weeks and messing up my previously fine bathtub drain. Mark and his apprentice, Dwayne, not only corrected the mess left by their predecessors but really went the extra mile to ensure that the only way my basement can flood again is to have someone pump water in from upstairs with a hose. Price was beyond fair, especially considering the high level of work performed. Don't hesitate to contact them if you have a problem--I couldn't be more impressed or satisfied.
OhaiMar K.I found both Greg and Brent both a pleasure to work with. I often find people who do work for us talk down to me or try to rip me off because I am a woman, but I completely trust the work done by this company (and hubby agrees). They are fair and reasonable, come out when they say they will, and go the extra mile when they have to. Greg had to go on my roof and in the crawl space and he did it with a smile on his face. I often say you can't pay people to care, they either do or don't. This company cares. You can't buy that! They deserve every star in this review, and if I ever need a plumber again, they will be my first call. Thank you Putnam and Sons Plumbing, Inc! PS If you don't believe me and want to test how good these guys are, do what I did and stick a bunch of rice down your garbage disposal, haha. They will not make fun of you or mock you, they will treat you with dignity and respect :)
Michelle K.This was by far one of the best service experiences that I have ever had. They were on time, extremely professional and knowledgeable. The guys were great and had no problem answering all of my questions and addressing all my concerns. Their pricing was great. I recommend this company to anyone who is looking to get the job done right the first time.
