Update 4/16 received a call from the office manager. Receptionist was new and training will be addressed. Manager told same thing a second plumber did, that draining and flushing the heater that old (10 years) may actually cause more problems and may worth the cost involved. Plumber will be coached. Manager credit us the cost of the visit. Thank you Aline.
They lost a customer today. Called to have a plumber come out because the water heater was making clunking/knocking sounds. Based on what i read on websites the heater needed to be flushed and drained. Told the receptionist who set up the appointment that it probably needed to be flushed. (heater still heated the water well, able to long hot showers etc... just made knocking noises). When the plumber got here, he said that heaters don't need to be flushed drained anymore, he checked to make sure water heater still worked (i already knew it did) and looked at one other issue we had and charged us $98 for the 30 min visit. If i had been told up front that they don't drain/flush water heaters anymore, i would not have had them come out (by the way, the manual for my Whirlpool water heater says it IS supposed to be drained/flushed every 6 months). I don't appreciate being lied to and i don't appreciate having to spend the time and money to hire someone else to do what this guy should have done.

They came out to install a drain for my bathroom sink. It took 45 minutes and cost me $185 ($45 in parts). What I didn't like is how they nickle and dime their customers.
$2.00 for putty, $3.00 for a washer, and $3.50 for a towel. Are you serious you charged for a towel to clean up after your mess???

Overpriced. This plumber spent a little over 45 mins and charged me 150.00 for labor. Parts were 44.00. A minor leak; minor effort; too much money.

I have had trouble for two appointments in a row of getting the servicemen to arrive within the set time frame or call if they are running late. Result has been no shows, much excuse making and having to reset the appointments. When the company personnel did appear he was completely uninformed about the original job request, which required two men and only performed a minimal cleaning and temporary repair.

I needed a plumber for a small fix and this was the only company I called that would tell me what the rates were on the phone. The others all said, "It depends on the job." I didn't want an estimate, I wanted a fix. They were able to send someone out that day who arrived on time and completed the job promptly. I did need an estimate for another issue and the service department head came out the next morning exactly as scheduled. I definitely highly recommend this company.

I have a rental house in dallas and this company has always been my first call when I need plumbing. They have reasonable prices and do good work. They coordinate the work with my tennant which saves me a lot of time as a middle man. I highly reccomend them.

The plumber that came out was courteous and did clean up, but I had a big problem with their pricing structure that wasn't fully revealed until after the work was done. It turns out they have a "materials" charge for several things that aren't really materials but rather the use of equipment, such as a basic augur ($15 materials fee), etc. They also charged $10 for him using gloves and a rag to wipe up. I called to talk to them about it and said it's the first time a plumber has charged me an additional fee (on top of the 146/hr fee) for the use of their tools, plus I had mentioned before I had the same augur in my garage to the guy when he first showed up. To me this is the equivalent of a mechanic charging me extra to use a wrench, caliper or any other basic tool needed to do the job above and beyond the service fee. The office told me that's what they have to do and have done for 50 years, end of story. Oh well, the search continues for a go-to plumber I can fully trust.

I had a nightmare of an experience with another company. Public Service Plumbers came and cleaned up the mess. They did a great job. I was super impressed with Public Service Plumber's attention to detail. For example, when remounting the toilet they installed toilet shims, sawed the shims to size, and then secured the shims with clear caulking. They did a huge job on my home and I fully intend on using this company moving forwards.

We called Public Service Plumbers to serivce our tankless hot water heater that kept turning off on Friday midday and they insisted upon seeing the unit on Monday morning instead so that they could converse with the company of the water heater. Luckily the hot water would intermittantly work so we were able to make it through the weekend without too much inconvience. However on Monday morning when they came to evaluate the problem, the unit never switched off. They did charge us over $200 without any diagnosis besides needing to order a new circuit board that might fix the problem. When the hot water turned off again, I called the company back to get the part ordered and to schedule installation. They told me it would be 7-10 days for the part to get in and the woman on the phone could give me absolutely no kind of price estimate for the install and would not return my calls to the number she and I discussed. So I went ahead and ordered the circuit board myself directly from the hot water heater company myself on Wednesday and it was on my doorstep early on Friday morning (only two days later when they claimed it would take 7-10). Since my phone calls continued to go unreturned and I could not be provided any sort of estimate for the installation, I contacted another company to install the circuit board for less than the cost of their visit.

We actually just finished with the plumbers and they did a fantastic job. They worked so hard and you could really tell the difference in the professionalism and the integrity of the workers and this company. We could not be more thrilled with the work that they did, the knowledge they shared, and the compassion they showed us. We are so relieved to be done with that problem and for them to have fixed it properly and right!
