Company Overview

The founders settled in Dallas post World War II, in 1950. John acquired the plumbing from his parent, the late Joseph M. DiFrancesco, Sr., who was an builder, certified master plumber, and qualified master electrician in the state of New York. The company of Public Service Plumbers, Inc. were opened in 1959 after John B. DiFrancesco, a licensed plumber in Texas since 1950, spent nine years refining his expertise in the Park Cities areas. Inheriting the family tradition, Joseph M. DiFrancesco, III, a graduate of the University of Texas at Dallas and a licensed master plumber since 1981, joined the firm in the early 1980s. We are now a third family plumbing family and have been serving the DFW area with outstanding customer service for greater than five decades.

We called Public Service Plumbers yesterday because we had a clogged shower and kitchen sink. They unclogged the shower and while unclogging the kitchen sink, they broke a pipe. Water began coming out of the wall into the living room floor and all over the kitchen floor. The plumber said the pipe was old and it was not his fault. We called their office and spoke to the office manager but he was not helpful and sided with the plumber without looking at the pipe first. He said they could send someone to fix it for $800 - $900. Since then two different professionals have come look at the pipe and they both said the drain snake the plumber used was too big and the pipe had not broken if they had used the proper equipment. Now I'm out more than $1000, and it looks like I have water damage on my floors.

Had a wonderful experience, again, with Troy Curtis. He has years of experience and knowledge, as do all the plumbers I've had out from Public S. I've used them for over a decade. We usually have Mark C.come out to our home ( is excellent, too) but he was booked.
Appreciate them very much!

THIS WAS ONE OF THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCES I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH.

I am a landlord and made an appointment for them to unclog a shower drain. I gave the plumber the tenants phone number to set up the appointment, since the tenant occupies the property. The drain gets unclogged and I received an invoice for $514.64! Much to my surprise, this was a lot more than I was expecting to pay for unclogging a shower drain. I was communicating with the plumber, Wayne Vaughan through email, and I said that the invoice amount was never authorized by me and I never gave permission to complete this job, so I said I wasn't going to pay for it. The plumber, Wayne Vaughan said the tenant approved the job. I told him that the tenant was not paying for it, so he had no right to give approval nor did Wayne have the right to move forward with the job with just his approval. (I admit, that saying I wasn't going to pay wasn't the right thing to do).

Instead of picking up the phone to explain and resolve the issue, Wayne Vaughan proceeds to call my boss, to a job that is COMPLETELY UNRELATED to my job as a landlord, and tells my boss that he is going to put a lien on the property because I won't pay the invoice, and continues to bad mouth me to my boss. My boss calls me to let me know and I call Wayne. Wayne never once called me to resolve this issue and thought is was a good idea to look me up on google and see who I worked for. He not only embarrassed me with my boss, but also shouted at me on the phone when I called him to resolve the issue. I paid the Invoice after a $80 reduction, because I felt like it had already caused more trouble than it was worth. I have never dealt with this kind of unprofessionalism in my life. I admit that I didn't initially handle the situation great, but there are many more steps that could've have been taken to resolve this matter professionally by Public Service Plumbers.

Do not use. Some of the worst customer service I have experienced. Multiple missed appointments, issues with work, disrespect on the phone...the list goes on. There are plenty other respectable and capable plumbers in Dallas.

REVISED: after posting this, the company called me and apologized and took corrective actions. I consider that great service that is more consistent with what I've experienced with Public Service Plumbers!

I have used this company before and saw a leaky toilet so wanted to try them again. While they are prompt to answer the phone, I just spoke to a condescending and unhappy sounding woman who answered the phone. It's a shame when that is the face of a good company-just prepare yourself for her attitude if you call.

Initial scheduling was easy and they may have done a good job. But I wouldn't know as they did not show at the scheduled appointment window time of 3-hrs (duration seems appropriate). Called to confirm after the first hour in and all seemed well. Called again 10 minutes before the close of the 3-hr window (since I did not hear back) and was only then told that their tech was running late. I had already factored in about an hour of work (simple faucet replacement) even if he did arrive at the last minute but I wasn't going to stay around all day for this. They offered to reschedule but the sheer lack of communication/updates from them and simple respect for the customer's time was enough for me to take my business elsewhere.

The team came out for an emergency repair on a complicated lift station connected to our commercial grease trap. Troy could not have been more helpful and clear with what went wrong, how it could be fixed, and a good plan going forward. We have had many companies service this part of our grease trap in the past. None were as efficient, effective, and clear as Public Service Plumbers.

Terrible customer service experience. I had a backup happening in the master bathroom so I called Public Service Plumbers. The guy comes out and tries to snake the drain...nothing. Then he gets under the house and says he thinks the problem is with a certain fitting that was used on the pipes. Fair enough, I thought. At least we found the problem. As the tech is about to leave he tells me my bill is almost $400. Realizing I got charged for his "apprentice" to be there was the first frustration. That kid could have stayed in the car and no one would have noticed. THEN comes the second frustration. Immediately after he leaves my second bathroom starts to clog/backup (it had been working fine for the previous two weeks while the master was out of order). So at this point I paid almost $400 to basically lose my only working bathroom. When I called back and told them it was emergent, I was advised the earliest they could come out was in three days. I was told that I would have an estimate for the repair shortly. When the estimate came it sounded like they were throwing out numbers arbitrarily. I couldn't even get a hold of a supervisor to help me understand the fee structure. After getting passed to several dispatchers who didn't know their ass from a hot rock, the best anyone could tell me was anywhere from $1 - $1,400....to change a PVC fitting... after that I called another company that came out same day and fixed the problem for significantly cheaper. Don't even bother calling these guys. Good customer service is all but dead here.

Very satisfied. They came out immediately, we're thorough and solved my hot water issue quickly. It requires a replacement, but they were able to do a patch to buy me a few days so I could price check. Called three other companies and their price was the best. Great price and service. 100% satisfied.

They did not show up to the appointment, instead they called to find out the model of my water pump so that they can order a new one. They didn't even diagnose it to see if it needed to replaced. I called 2 more times asking about the new water pump and they couldn't give me an answer. Haven't heard back from them. I called Benjamin Franklin Plumbing and they spent 1 hour and adjusted the pump and it works great now. Not a reliable company
