Just an absolutely terrible experience with this company! Unprofessional shysters! Won't repair, just recommend hugely costly replacement. My AC unit to my children's bedrooms went out the evening of July 3rd. I found a full pan of water under the unit and wanted professional help to ensure it was repaired properly. I called the installing company who answered but were closed July 4th. This was my big mistake - I used Thumbtack to search for local HVAC repair companies and this company answered the phone right away and offered to schedule an appointment on July 4th but at double the usual rare - $110 in this case. My window was 8-12 on July 4th for service. By noon no one had called or arrived and I called the service, they answered and said they had been busy but would be by around 2-3pm. A """"senior"""" HVAC technician Stephan arrived around 2:45 and proceeded to tell me that he couldn't do much because he had a new truck which was empty and contained essentially no equipment other than his gauges. He went to the condensers and hooked up his equipment and was checking initially all the units except the one which wasn't running. He pointed out some readings on the gauges and told me the unit that was running was bad. I directed him to the clearly non functioning unit and he did nothing. I took him to the attic to inspect the air handler which he simply looked at without inspecting and walked away stating the attic was too hot and he didn't have any tools. I was left with a non functioning unit and $110 bill with a promise to come back the next day. I spent the evening with a ShopVac vacuuming out the drain line and pan beneath the unit and it turned back on. I was worried that there was still a problem and these guys came back the next day when I was back at work - I though this would be a routine visit at this point but it was anything but. They proceeded to do a leak test which resulted in a recommendation that the coil needed replacing on two units and the compressor on another - now this was on units I hadn't even called them about. They quoted repair cost of $7929.15 for two coils and a compression or replacement cost of $19,325.15 for two new units and a new compressor. At this point the original unit I had called them about was still not working. We were aghast at the cost and told them we wanted a second opinion - at this point the estimates were taken bac, we were treated rudely and they came up with an outrageous bill for $1402 for service for two leaks tests at a phenomenal $330 each and putting T's on the drain lines for future flushing at $150 each - no Freon, no working unit!! My second opinion came out had me up and running in one visit, repaired the coil leak and recharged the units, charged $35 for a leak test and $5/pound for 22 pounds of refrigerant - a huge difference in price. They couldn't believe the shoddy service this company had provided.

I just fixed our A/C unit for $200. Not only were they going to charge me nearly $2,000 but they were also trying to scare me into a whole new unit for $6,000 by saying we would only have a one year warranty after spending $2,000 but we could have a new unit with a 10 year warranty and low monthly payments. No thank you.

Wow they will show up to install a brand new A/C and collect their money. A/C broke down twice in the first week. They will charge u a ridiculous amount of money to fix it even though it came with a 10year warranty and is brand new. They didn't show up twice to their scheduled appointment to fix the problem. I'm still waiting. The owner DJ is rude and has bad customer service.

This company are crooks. We had a contract for 10 years parts and labor for the system they installed. The coil went bad after 3 years and they did come right and replaced it after 2 weeks. After they completed the job they wanted to charge $900.00 for refrigerant, we wouldn't need it if your part didn't fail. This is $8.00 a pound and a max of 6 pounds for the unit. Also 2 separate houses we own that they tested for a condensation line said that the line was broken under the slab and we needed a whole new system and pump for $2500.00 which was not the case in either properties.

May 7 3 three weeks in and the unit has not been operating correctly. Had to call again for a technician and was told I would have to pay $110.00 for the visit for an ac unit that was just installed. This is a terrible company and the owner will not even talk with his customers. Reprehensible conduct by the owner and his office staff.

Promag Energy Group gets 1 Star as Yelp will not allow me to give them 0 Stars. Similar to the stories already written by others, but to recap my experience: 1. Cold Calls: Endless calls soliciting a service inspection - by endless I mean years. They litterally called me for three years so I finally agreed as I needed an inspection for preventative maintenance reasons. 2. High Estimates - ensure you get a 2nd or 3rd estimate. I did need a new system and they were available to install the next day. Again, it was convient for me as I travel. Nonetheless the estimate was $1,000 - $2,000 higher then others (after the fact estimates received). 3. Service Part I: Inspection was very good. Very professional. They showed me my problems and outlined their suggested solution. This was on 2.18.17 4. Service Part II: After the inspection, I agreed on the estimate and the install was to happen the next day Sunday, 2.19.17. 5. Service Part III: The technicians came on Sunday as planned, 2.19.17, and were professional and friendly, however, the system was not installed correctly as the thermostats didn't work and the house duct dampners did not cool the main part of the house. It was February so I did not check each vent for cooling and pressure. NOTE: Make sure you take the time and inspect everything. 6. Service Part IV: Along with the installation of new units I also got a duct cleaning. For all the calling and scheduling, they always seemed to miss there dates which they did for the succeeding week cleaning. It was scheduled from Saturday, 2.25.17 - no one showed up. I call in and they said sorry. Re-scheduled for 3.4.17. Thus, I had to move my schedule again to accomodate them. 5. Service Part V: I paid in full on 2.18.17. It is now 4.29.17 and my main part of my house still does not cool. I had an appoint this a.m., which was confirmed via a telephone call on 4.28.17 by their office (Keisha) for 9 a.m. on 4.29.17. Less then 24 hours later the owner (JD Harris) calls and states he is not going to make it. I find this unacceptable and bush league construction. When he called I was a little upset as last Saturday, 4.22.17 I had an appointment to get it fixed, but Pro Mag sent a technican to confirmed what I stated - with no intention of fixing the problem....thus I rescheduled again and you can see how this turned out for lme. I paid promptly and expect to receive the services at the time of payment. If the service is provided is subpar, my new expectation is for the company to jump through hoops to fix it and accommodate my schedule. This is a one a done transaction with this company. Two months after I paid in full - I still have no joy.

I initially thought that Promag was going to be a good AC company,However, I am so disappointed in the AC they installed. My electric bill is running over 400.00 a month and they assured me that it would be in the neighborhood of $200.00 or less. Not to say that they would know exactly but they sold us on the idea, as one of the Sales/Technicians that looked at our unit and told us we needed it replaced, stated he has a house bigger than our home and his electric bill was under $200.00 a month. I did not expect it to be exact as people live different lives and their use of electricity would be different. The unit is very loud and they said it would be very quiet, which it was for about the first 40 days and the sound increased and its less than 7 months of being installed.I find them to be unorganized rude, and deceitful. the office personnel is not polite friendly nor respectful of their customers, when asked to speak to the Owner or manager it fell on death ears. Its a shame that businesses choose to not want to grow their business on integrity and customer service. So if Promag is the only company that answers your calls, its because other companies that deserve the business is out working on Ac's properly. Promag is available because they are shady and have time to rip people off. Very disappointed with this company to say the least. Don't call them you will be sorry as I am right now.

I had promag install a new ac unit and the workers did a nice job. The company took out the permits and I was waiting for an inspection which never happened . the permit expired in august. it is now the middle of sept. they said that they renewd the permit but when I called the building dpt. they said it was never renewd . IT APPEARS that they only care about getting that check and screw the customer

The representative followed up confirming my appointment of 4:30pm, which was appreciated. When I asked what time is the latest I could expect him, I was told 5:30 because the representative was not that busy. I gave him until 8:45pm, I emailed them letting them know their business is no longer required. If you get a no call no show by a sales representative, what can I expect from the service itself?

Trust the reviews on this page. This company knows you are in a bad spot. They come out, charge you for the visit and quote a really high price. Two other companies came out and did not charge me for the estimate and both were a $1000-$2000 under this company for repairs. Unfortunately, they are listed under other names. If they say there is a charge for the estimate, move on.
