Very arrogant and not very professional tech arrived at our home. We had a problem with the sewer (grinder) pump. I did not have a chance to remove the tank cover in the driveway before I left for work. All he did was drive look in the control box noticed the tank cover wasn't removed and said he would send an estimate to remove it. Then charged the $69.99 house call fee (that was fine) and added a $75.00 diagnostic fee which was BS! He insisted and since I wasn't there she paid because he was an intimidating guy. The next day when I got home he had sent me an estimate, just to remove the concrete plug in the driveway, with an excavator, crew, chains, etc of $1300! I've had this cover off myself twice in 20yrs with other plumbers. I removed the plug myself when I got home, using a 6ft pry bar in about 15-20min and removed the tank cover to the pump. After the sewage pumper truck cleaned the tank out the Proline tech (same guy) stopped by the check the pump. Besides his original arrogant attitude with my wife and the RIDICULOUS $1300 estimate to remove the cover this last encounter is the primary reason for this1-star review. He drove up walked over to the tank, I had opened up to the pump, looked down in the tank and said ""Yup, you need a new pump"" hooked it with rod lifted about 5ft and took a picture of the Mfg label for the model#, serial#, etc. and set it back down. Did not check to see if it was jammed possibly, did not go to the control panel and try running the pump, check electrical circuit, etc (typical ""diagnostic"" steps) then presented me with another bill with the $69.99 house call plus another $75.00 diagnostic fee! WTF! I told him to send me a bill I'm not paying this on the spot until I talk to someone at Proline. I'm 6'4"" and he was NOT going to intimidate me and finally left, unpaid. I later talked with Proline and ONLY paid the house call fee as it should have been. In the meantime they sent me an estimate for replacing the pump of $4900! After that I went to McGee Plumbing, long story short, it was jammed and cleared (new pump NOT needed) at a fraction of the $4900 Proline wanted! Needless to say I will NEVER call not recommend Proline to anyone.
