We manage numerous condominiums in Monmouth & Ocean Counties and retained Proficient Plumbing to handle a condominium project in Ortley Beach that needed to have the gas lines replaced for all 10 units in the complex. Not an easy task. Our office and the Board of Directors found Paul, and the entire staff of Proficient Plumbing, to be professional, accommodating and competitively priced. It is not easy working with condominiums, especially having to deal with many owners at one site. They handled this project exceptionally well, which took a lot of pressure off our staff. We will definitely continue to use and recommend Proficient Plumbing. John Roberts

Had to have all units gas supply lines replaced in crawl space of condominium building where I own a unit. Plumber advised that the gas shut valves for the gas appliances in my unit were not up to standard and stated they must be replaced at a cost of between two and three hundred each. I went to the worksite to speak with the plumber and asked for the ordinance that the plumber was referring to in order to state that the gas valves on my gas appliances were not up to standard. No gas appliances were being changed or touched that would require shutting of the existing gas valves in my unit. When I requested the ordinance the onsite plumber called the owner and the story suddenly changed to ""we recommend that the existing gas valves be replaced"". I told the onsite plumber that if no ordinance can be produced that would require the replacement of my gas valves do not do anything in my unit. Subsequently, the plumber billed my unit 125.00 for tightening packing nuts on 3 of the existing gas valves because he stated they were leaking. They were not leaking. How do I know this? Prior to the job in crawl space commencing I had the occasion to replace the washer and gas dryer in my unit. When I was finished I used my electronic gas detector to check the valve and its connections to the dryer, no leaks. I then proceeded to check the other gas valves and their connections to my gas appliances, also no leaks. To tighten a packing nut takes on the existing gas valves would take less than a minute each. Pretty hefty charge (125.00) for tightening packing nuts when the existing valves were fully functional and did not leak. In closing you cannot believe what this company tells you as truth. Would never use this company.

(1) Replaced nonfunctional single-lever kitchen sink faucet with customer-supplied unit; (2) replaced under-sink shutoff valves for above; (3) replaced in-wall valve stems and seats for a shower stall with no tile damage. Scott kept two appointments on time. He was resourceful responding to challenges related to old plumbing. Project seemed pricey but high-quality work was done quickly and within the original estimate (no surprises). Would use them again.

I feel Lucky I called Proficient. They came out quickly and Keith was great, friendly, knowledgable, efficient (proficient? L O L), neat and everything you'd want in a plumber. He identified the problem quickly and fixed it just as quickly. Would love to give Keith and Proficient 10 stars.

We could not have asked for more professional plumbers. Explained everything before beginning the project. Gave us an exact quote before making necessary repairs. They were quick, and it was as though they never came (cleaned up after they were finished). Very respectful! Thank you.

Proficient Plumbing contacted us RAPIDLY from our request on Yelp. Within minutes we had an appointment for the next day. The office was super nice, and Jose and Ty (plumbers) arrived and quickly diagnosed and repaired a leaking pipe inside the ceiling. They were thorough, clean, proficient (!!!) and their pricing was more than fair! And this was for emergency service as well! I can EASILY rate them as a 5-Star service provider and absolutely would recommend Proficient Plumbing & Heating to anyone requiring their services! (Gary & Dawn, Lakehurst, date of service 3/5/24)

PP sent his technicians to replace/install undermount kitchen sink; also replaced portion of cast iron pipe that was old/coroded causing backup from bathroom into kitchen sink. Discussed pitch of drainage btwn. bathroom & kitchen; was told the old cast iron pipe was causing backup from bathroom into kitchen sink. Never corrected pitch of pipes so all water flow was evenly draining out. While water did drain, when recently replacing bathroom vanity, the new contractor handling vanity hookup advised pitch of pipes btwn bathroom/kitchen was all wrong & sink drain installation by PP was crooked which we did notice. As such, had to spend over $400 additional to fix & re-do the kitchen drainage done by PP & correct the pipe pitch. It's now obvious that PP failed in this regard and we had to pay the price to fix it. Unfortunately, can't recommend & even complained about travel distance to our job!

First they came over to assess the job. Told us we needed a new toilet and told us to call them back when we get one. I ordered the toilet, they came back within a few days and replaced the broken toilet.

The repairman was very nice, knew what he was doing, charged us a fair price and was done quickly! He was very nice! I would use this company again!!
