Our lead plumber Richard Hume founded Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. in 2008 with a few tools and containers of fittings from the back of his pickup truck. Like any successful entrepreneur, he dedicated himself day and night, handing out flyers to gain new customers and contacts. Despite a tough downturn in 2009, Pro-Tec Plumbing endured; each year, we expanded our capabilities by hiring new staff, equipment, and resources to the company. Having steadily grown over the years, Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. has changed -- we are now Pro-Tec Plumbing, Water & Gas, a comprehensive water system provider. What started as a solo operation is now a successful company with over 50 team members. Though we still grow, Rick's original promise remains the foundation of Pro-Tec: develop a business centered on dedication and integrity and deliver the quality of work we would expect in our own houses.

Brothers Richard (Rick) and Brandon Hume were brought up in Plymouth, Massachusetts, where they resided until the early 2000s.

Brandon transferred to Florida in 2004 to attend Florida Gulf Coast University, where he competed in golf and studied in finance. Meanwhile, Rick nurtured a increasing passion for plumbing; he achieved his license as a Master Plumber in 2008 and launched what would become Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc.

After graduating from his degree, Brandon helped in hand-digging Rick's first residential project in 2009. He decided to join his brother permanently as the company's vice president in 2011, overseeing the office side of the enterprise.
