Locally operated since 2008, Pro-Tec Plumbing & Air has established a solid presence as the leading residential and commercial plumbing and air-conditioning provider. Our Master Plumber Richard Hume started Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. in 2008 with some tools and containers of fittings from the back of his pickup truck. Like any successful entrepreneur, he dedicated himself day and night, distributing flyers to find new customers and leads. Despite a challenging downturn in 2009, Pro-Tec Plumbing endured; each year, we grew our capabilities by bringing on new employees, vehicles, and assets to the company. Having consistently grown over the years, Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. has changed -- we are now Pro-Tec Plumbing, Water & Gas, a full-service water system organization. What started as a solo operation is now a successful company with over 50 staff. Though we continue to grow, Rick's original promise remains the cornerstone of Pro-Tec: build a business centered on hard work and honesty and provide the quality of work we would desire in our own houses.

Brothers Richard (Rick) and Brandon Hume were born in Plymouth, Massachusetts, where they lived until the early 2000s.

Brandon moved to Florida in 2004 to enroll in Florida Gulf Coast University, where he competed in golf and focused in finance. Meanwhile, Rick developed a growing passion for plumbing; he achieved his license as a Master Plumber in 2008 and launched what would evolve into Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc.

After finishing his degree, Brandon helped in digging Rick's first residential job in 2009. He chose to partner with his brother full-time as the company's vice president in 2011, running the business side of the enterprise.
