Privately held since 2008, Pro-Tec Plumbing & Air has developed a solid presence as the leading home and business plumbing and air-conditioning provider. We offer top-notch services for homes, businesses, and new builds. We ensure quality and provide peace of mind. Our head plumber Richard Hume launched Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. in 2008 with a few tools and containers of fittings from the back of his vehicle. Like any great entrepreneur, he devoted himself day and night, passing out flyers to find new customers and contacts. Despite a difficult downturn in 2009, Pro-Tec Plumbing persisted; each year, we increased our services by adding new staff, vehicles, and assets to the company. Having consistently grown over the years, Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. has transformed -- we are now Pro-Tec Plumbing, Water & Gas, a complete water system organization. What began as a single-person operation is now a flourishing company with over 50 team members. Though we remain grow, Rick's original vision remains the foundation of Pro-Tec: develop a business centered on dedication and transparency and provide the quality of work we would expect in our own houses.

Brothers Richard (Rick) and Brandon Hume were raised in Plymouth, Massachusetts, where they lived until the early 2000s.

Brandon relocated to Florida in 2004 to attend Florida Gulf Coast University, where he played golf and studied in finance. Meanwhile, Rick nurtured a deepening passion for plumbing; he earned his license as a Master Plumber in 2008 and launched what would grow into Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc.

After finishing his degree, Brandon helped in hand-digging Rick's first residential job in 2009. He opted to team up with his brother permanently as the company's vice president in 2011, overseeing the operations side of the operation.
