Over the past week, Prestige has no-showed for 2 service appointments. I have spoken to Dominick multiple times over the past 4 days and have left voicemails requesting a call back from the Service Manager, Mark, or the owner, Tim to address this problem and have yet to receive calls back. Their customer service has been non-existent and I would not recommend using this company to anyone.
Faisal K.Ok, So my Air Conditioning (Central AC) stopped working and so I called my landlord (I rent a tow home) to send someone to fix it. I was told that he would be there between Noon and 4 P.M. tomorrow. The next day, he arrived around 2, which was fine, and came in to take a look at my AC. He determined that a certain part needed to be replaced (cannot recall its name) and said it would cost around $750 dollars to replace it (Ridiculously Expensive!)! He proceeded to remove the part and brought a new one to replace it. My AC unit is next to my balcony, and he was quite an old man, so I decided to leave the balcony door open the whole time for him so he may move around easier (But in the end, all this did was bring a ton of bugs into my house). Before making the purchase, so I would not have to spend more in the long run if it were to have any problems, I asked if there was any warranty. He said he would have to check and went to his car to collect ""some papers"". But in truth, he left, along with a part of my AC (the part he took out) and neither him or the agency would pick up my calls (he would just hang up). So, I called Fire & Ice Company to do this, who had much better service, sent in a very capable employee, and the work was done fast and smooth, for even cheaper than this garbage company!
I would recommend Fire and Ice to anyone who has heat and AC problems and I would advise that you stay away from this place as they are nothing more than thieves.
If you think paying $606.00 to replace a part that sits on top of a hot water tank is a fair price, feel free to call the nice guys at Prestige Plumbing Heating Cooling. That's $0.00 for one warrantied part, $547.00 for less than 40 minutes work, and $59.00 for a service call. Oh yeah, they never told me the estimated price so I could give them their $59.00 and send them on their way. They just went ahead and fixed it!!! Yes, I was stupid enough to pay it. Never again.
Greg O.I do not recommend Prestige. Call someone else if you want a fair price and good service! Called them to repair a noisy shower valve and to replace a lift & turn drain cap. They charged me $550 for the valve replacement which upon research afterwards is outrageously high. The new drain was installed unevenly and to top it off they left a stain of glue and grease on the bottom of the tub that I have still been unable to completely remove. To add insult to injury, they turned my water heaters up to the ""Very hot"" setting, making the water EXTREMELY hot at every faucet and shower, just to address my wife's concern that the shower with the valve issue didn't get hot enough. Nearly got scaled the next few days before realizing what had been done to the water temperature. Very disappointed with the cost, quality of work, clean-up and on top of that the plumber nearly scalded my entire family
Mike m.DON'T DO IT!!! Look elsewhere now!!!
I had some minor water damage to my basement carpet near the sump pump, so I called Prestige out to investigate. A technician comes out (without another guy following him around) and spends a few minutes troubleshooting and determines my sump pump needed replacement. He connects an electrical tester to the plug and shows me that it beeps, which means the pump is trashed (apparently). Hmmm, weird, I know it had been running at least some of the time. Not knowing any better, and desperate, I authorize him to replace the sump pump for $600 (which seemed extremely high). Because, at that point my options were to tell him to hit the road and pay $49.00 for him to come out and insult me and look for a new contractor while my basement floods or just take it in the rear and at least I will have a dry basement. I mistakenly chose the latter.
So, about a week later, the wife notices the carpet is wet again near the sump pump. Impossible, I said, but went down there and verified it. I give my friends at Prestige a follow up call and they offer to send someone out. They send out this snarkey fellow who assesses the situation and tells me that the check valve was failing and that was causing the leak. I asked why the original tech that came out did not notice this and just slammed in a new sump pump. His response was eloquently, ""No harm no foul"". Really? I paid $1000 for repairs I didn't need and my carpet was soaked for another week due to your coworkers negligence and lack of thoroughness in his inspection.
Maybe he should have spent some time thorougly testing the system after he installed it, instead of slamming Prestige Plumbing stickers on all of my appliances. How could he miss a leaky check valve? It's the only other element in this simple assembly! Run the pump a few times and watch it leak. So, anyways, snarkey finishes up and takes off and my wife and I get to enjoy our dry basement and wash our hands of Prestige Plumbing.
WRONG!!! A few days later, she notices the carpet is wet again. We run the pump and realize it was leaking from the new valve assembly that snarkey had installed. How could this be leaking? Any fool can glue PVC together. It should have been easily detected when/if he actually tested the system out. A few days later, snarkey is back out to repair his job. Third times a charm (I hope. It's only been a few dry days, so I cannot confirm).
Hope you all can learn from my mistakes!
B B.I called early in the morning with a back up and they were in within an hour! Polite, thorough, professional, spot on with cost estimate- and they cleaned up well after the work. I would easily recommend Prestige Plumbing!
Sherry L.Would not recommend! First was promised a window between 10 and 2. When he never showed we called them and was told they would not be coming due to a family emergency. Ok emergencies unfortunately happen. Rescheduled for next day, took day off work and they never called or showed up. Day 3 and nothing. We would never consider them again and find them to be incredibly unreliable. Do not use them.
Scheduled a delivery window 11:00am -3:00pm on a beautiful summer Saturday since I could not take any days off to fix a major leak in my kitchen. Called three times since 3:15pm to find out if they were still coming out and have not heard back at all. I used them to replace water heater and had no issues, but this is ridiculous! DOn't call this company. There are plenty of other plumbing companies in Aurora and Naperville that can perform the basic level of customer service. If you cannot make an appointment than call your client ahead of time so they aren't waiting around for no reason. I could have rescheduled but lack of cutomer service burned my whole day!
I needed a new check valve for my sump pump. Prestige was the only company available to come out immediately. The person that installed the check valve told me that it would be easy to change it if need be in the future. Just unscrew the top and bottom from the PVC pipes and change it out. Well, not so. They glued it in so that if I ever need to change my sump pump, I am guaranteed to have to change the check valve as well. The sump pump I have needs to be changed out. Guess I have to replace the whole thing??? I just paid $162 for this visit just so I can pay an even greater amount later? I don't think so. Their website says call us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 364 days a year. It's 8:15pm So I called and left a message. Yeah, I don't hear my phone ringing. Nope....not happy at all at this point but I shall see tomorrow when I call again.
Very dissatisfied with Prestige. My sump pump was failing and they offered to install a part on the pump to keep it going. I asked what would happen if the pump failed again; they said the pump would need to be replaced. I informed them the pump was almost 10 years old and what the price difference would be. The difference was minimal, less than 50 bucks. Why didn't they offer to install a new pump in the first place, instead of coming with a scenario where I would be paying nearly double for a new pump after their ""part"" failed? Hmmmm. They installed the sump pump in Oct. 2009. Almost immediately, the pump was spraying water and they had to come back and fix it the next day. It is now 14 months later and the pump failed. I called yesterday to get an estimate for checking the pump. They wanted $165.00 to INSPECT a pump??? Note: When I called them 2 years prior the cost of the inspection was $25.00.
I called another company who offered to inspect BOTH my ejector and sump pumps for $28. After inspection they confirmed the pump was failing. They are installing a BETTER pump with an 18 month warranty, not the 12 month warranty I got for this crappy pump from Prestige. Oh, the company deducted the cost of the inspections (plural) from the overall bill.
I'll never call Prestige again and cannot recommend them to others. I felt deceived from the get go, and was apparently sold an inferior product, then told to pay up to have the cheap product serviced. Fool me once.....
