We recently got our sewer lateral replaced, involving a mostly trenchless operation. 2 days, no issues, minimal interruption to landscaping or street traffic. From the start Patrick was forthright, responsive, and experienced. He's been working in the east bay for 20 years and knows his jobs, clients, and personnel. He was reachable by phone, and the guys on site were courteous and efficient. Also, his quote was lower than many other companies, which was much appreciated. I'd recommend Patrick/Precision to anyone in the east bay based on my experience

Although the estimate was lower than others, service was terrible- rude, arrogant, and took a long time to respond. Very disappointed. Should have gone with the other plumber.

Got estimate for a sewer lateral. Took several attempts to get them to send it. The owner, Patrick sounds like he thinks he's doing you a favor by talking to you. I sent the signed contract back and asked him to call me the next day to set a date. Almost a month later he emails me that he's ready to start in a couple of days. I immediately responded that I was not ready as I wanted to coordinate his work with our contractor for a project we started while waiting for him. Days later PGE shows up to mark the gas lines for our work which he said the sewer company is starting right away. I mentioned to the PGE guy that we don't have a final date yet, so he said he's not going to mark anything yet and would tell the sewer company.
Patrick then sent me a rude email about what I told PGE and that I should find someone else. Would definitely take a hard pass for hiring him for anything.

Arranged for Precision Sewers to come out on a Monday to test my sewer lateral. Someone showed up to do the test but he couldn't find the clean-out. I told him where it was but it must have gotten buried by erosion. He told me he would have to come back on Tuesday with a partner to do the test.

On Tuesday, nobody showed up. At the end of the day I called Precision and got Patrick on the line. He promised me that someone would come by on Wednesday to do the inspection but nobody ever showed up.

This level of unreliability is very unprofessional. Don't waste your time calling them.

I recently bought a home that was 1 year into a 10 year warranty from Precision Sewers who had replaced the sewer lateral. When a plumbing issue came up 3 weeks after our move-in and it looked like it may be sewer related I called Patrick. I was unsure how he would respond given I was not the owner of the home at the time the work was done. My caution was completely unwarranted as he immediately had workers sent to our home. They were extremely professional, polite, and efficient. It turned out the issue wasn't related to the sewer, but there were some issues with the older pipes that may need attention in the future.

I appreciate how Patrick explained to me what the issue was and how we should keep an eye on it moving forward. Instead of trying to upsell me on an immediate project using scare tactics he advised that we see if we can make some adjustments and find alternatives to an expensive pipe replacement. Only if it becomes a recurring issue that we can't deal with did he think we should then seriously consider a more intense solution. I hope that day never comes, but if it does I will definitely be giving Patrick a call. He's earned my trust and respect with his great customer service, efficient work, and integrity in doing business.

I did a sewer lateral with this company and they were on time and get the job done no problem. However, the owner sent me an invoice and the next day and demanded a check by end of the week, and when I told him I will mail him a check as most people do. He tried to charge me a $75.00 late fee for not getting the check to him in 48 hours.
I work for a property management company and deal with vendors all the time, this is the only time I've seen such ridiculous requests from a vendor about payments.

Our agent got a quote for sewer lateral replacement from Precision Sewer during the purchase of our home, and the quote was reasonable, so we went ahead with Precision Sewer for the work. The work itself was completed satisfactorily by the team, but I have to give this company 1 star because of the owner's less than satisfactory communication and customer service.

The owner - Patrick - was very rude on the phone. After confirming the dates for the work by text, I asked him around what time the work would be completed (since, you know, we couldn't use the toilet until the work was done). He then called me and started to berate me (raising his voice, huffing and puffing on the phone etc) about why I thought the work was going to be completed on day X. Anyway, a simple and pleasant clarification on date and time would have worked, but instead the owner of this company started shouting at a customer - this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced!

Patrick's communication was also erratic and not dependable. When I asked him to confirm where I can send the check after the work was done, he responded immediately. But when we came home after day1 of the work and saw mounds of dirt in the yard and on the street and asked for a simple clarification on when the dirt would be removed - no response! We eventually had to call the city of Oakland to get more details on the work and timeline.

If your hands are tied and you cannot choose anyone else for your sewer lateral replacement, I would suggest you keep all communication with Patrick to a minimum and use text only, and get details on the project by calling Oakland directly.

Patrick Bailey of Precision Sewers, 510 381-5000, lessened the pain of having to deal with a lateral sewer replacement. Patrick is knowledgeable, fair priced and handled annoying inspections with professionalism. I only had to write a check because he and his crew did the rest. Thanks, Patrick

Before we closed on our house the previous owners had Patrick upgrade the sewer lateral which was supposed to be backed by a 10 year warranty. Eight years later it started leaking through cracks in foundation into our basement. Immediately Patrick warned that he would charge us for anything unrelated to the work he had done several years ago if he started digging and found new problems. I repeatedly asked for a quote to understand what he would charge so I could compare with other recommended plumbers before letting him do more work. Luckily he never gave me an estimate and I got tired of hassling him while sewer water continued to leak into our home. I had to hire someone else to fix it and they found small and poorly installed couplers that are no longer allowed at the sewer connection. Patrick refused to compensate me for the cost of the repair.
