I was shocked at the efforts this company made to scam my elderly parents into spending between $10,000-20,000 for air conditioning replacement. They lied repeatedly to me about Texas law requiring both outside and inside units to be replaced simultaneously (any part of an AC unit can be replaced without having to replace other parts). They claimed that it would cost thousands to look for a leak which didn't exist (as verified very quickly by a second company). They guaranteed service with parts the next day, and thinking we were signing the contract, changed and said there were no parts for a 300 mile radius and wasn't sure when they could do it.....and then offered a more expensive $20,000 unit ASAP. When we refused, they all of a sudden had parts and crew available magically for our original, highly overpriced estimate of $10,000. I'm shocked at the lies and the manipulation. Our second opinion somehow saw no leak, and managed to replace the indoor unit (as they said the outdoor unit was fine), for a few grand. It was nice to have honestly and expediency.

Geoff came and "saved our lives" after a lightning strike destroyed our AC unit. I called Precision and he was here within an hour with a complete diagnostic of the system and a plan and timeline for fixing. I really REALLY appreciate super responsive service for things like HVAC during the summer, because I literally am terrified of being without AC! Geoff was kind and funny and fast. Thanks, Geoff and Precision!

Quick response but Fox bought out Precision so I was puzzled when the truck pulled up. Nice knowledgeable man, but I couldn't afford the price so I decided to call a smaller company.

I was going to be charged $500 for a $12.00 capacitor that takes two seconds to install. If that isn't ridiculous this is for sure 1,200 for a fan Motor that normally cost $300-$700 installed .. service man was rude rushing me to decide acting all nervous shaking his leg etc ..No thanks Bud! Next! Oh and they charge a $49 service fee for estimates reg $100...
update( Sept 9) over a month later as will not allow me to respond below to your message .. all capacitors r inexpensive and range $12-$25 and takes a minute to put on.. the technician in this case told Me initially I need a 40 power not 35.. then comes back telling me my fan is shot( when he didn't even remove the cover and check fan wires etc ) .. well I got the 40+ and it has worked awesome ever since .. no fan motor issues .. as far as within my budget or not I felt scammed. I think of the others who can't afford and r taken advantage and feel have no choice while enduring this Texas heat..

All of their business relations were good, even a reasonable priced service visit, until they had to price a simple repair.. and I did my homework before hand. to replace a $ 200 Condenser fan motor was $1300 with the motor included... I responded that I don't do Gouging, and let their boss know this is horrible business etiquette. I had the motor overnighted for $ 80, and replaced it in less than an hour... 8 screws and some zip ties, and they wanted $ 1000 for the labor... for an HOUR.. you are professionals, and a noob did it in an hour.. so you KNEW this would be quick!!!!

If you like to way overpay for things you don't even need, this is the company for you! Our AC system broke, so we called Precision and it took them 4 days to come out to our house, even though the inside thermostat was reading 100 degrees in the house. Then the technician shows up and says its going to take a few more days because he needs to order parts (which I completely understand) and gives us an invoice for almost $2,000 worth of work. We can't afford that so we were working with our insurance to try and get them to help pay for some of it. Our insurance requested a diagnostic report to explain what was going on with our system and why. We had to call and bug them multiple times trying to get this report, and then at the end of it all, we never got the report and the technician came back out to the house and said "oh never mind we don't need to do all this expensive stuff, we just need to add more refrigerant to your unit" Hmm... how shady is that. You want to charge me all this money until I ask for proof about all the issues and then all of a sudden they magically go away?
They also listed on that invoice around $700 for a new thermostat. You can buy even the nice expensive ones for $200 at home depot, and they're extremely easy to install yourself. So when we told the technician we were going to buy the new one ourselves, he offered to install it for $250, but with how easy it is and having a father in law who is an electrician we decided to save some money and do it ourselves. After we replaced it, that still didn't solve our issue. So the technician came back out and proceeded to argue with my husband and tell him he did everything wrong and that we should have gone with a basic honeywell home thermostat and that would solve all the issues. Between the technicians attitude towards my husband and the $250 fee, we once again decided to replace it ourselves. Once again, the technician was wrong and replacing the thermostat for a 3rd time didn't do anything. By this point we feel scammed and are extremely frustrated and have spent close to $800 in hotel costs and new thermostats. We called them last night to see if the technician could come out and just override the thermostat for the night so we could at least sleep at our house. The schedular said she would send someone out. A few hours later, our previous technician called my husband and was very upset with him and told him there was no way he was going to come out because we weren't going to pay him. I have no idea why he thinks we should pay him the $49 service fee AGAIN when he still hasn't fixed any of the issues we've been having. I'm not going to keep giving you $49 to come to my house and tell me the incorrect way to fix my AC. Even more so when you continue to be rude and disrespectful to my husband.
So late last night my husband had to run over to home depot and get a window unit just so we could stay at our house through the night and I found another company who was able to send someone out within 24 hours. I should have saved myself the headache and all the money and called the other place to begin with. Hopefully this will warn you to steer clear as well.

My A/C wasn't working right, so I took a half day off to meet the repairman at my house. It took him 20 minutes to blow out the drain line, and the charge? $388. You figure out the hourly rate. Then the repairman refused to do the second part of the service call (warranty work on another part of the house) because the office hadn't written down the second part on his work order, and he was too busy to take the time.
I called Precision to complain. The service department transferred me to the billing department who said the HVAC manager would handle any refunds, but he was unavailable to take my call. I left my name, number, and reason for calling, but he never called back.
Keep my experience in mind if you ever consider using Precision Heating & Air yourself.

Definitely price out other service providers before choosing Precision. My unit needed a simple condenser fan motor replacement. The technician said it was under warranty and the whole service took under an hour, yet it came out to nearly $600. Not sure what the warranty actually covered because Precision won't return my calls, but that feels very full-price considering the part runs for $100-$200. Their receipt is not itemized so I'm not really sure what I actually paid for and what was "covered under warranty".

These guys were great. They quickly found out why my AC wasn't working, fixed it, and followed through with a comprehensive review of the the entire system, and then reported their findings. They were reasonably priced and I will use them again.

We came home to a hot house last night and could not get the AC running at all, so this morning I started making calls. Every HVAC company is slammed right now, but Jamie C got back to me over email and said they would have someone out after 6pm. Eric Suarez showed up right on time, and was amazing. He quickly got to work and identified the problem. He talked us through the issue, showed us what he was doing to fix it, and helped us understand what we could do in the future if we run into more problems. I'm sure he had a long day too, but he was patient, kind, and thorough. He answered all of our questions and made sure everything was perfect before heading out. We will always make sure Precision is our first call in the future, and hope we get Eric again if we need help!
